Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida at 2:05 p.m. Wednesday as a Category 4 storm, moving across the state from the Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center said the storm made landfall near the Cayo Costa area, with the eye passing about 20 miles northwest of Fort Myers. Winds reached up to 155 mph and as of Thursday morning officials said more than 2.5 million were without power because of the storm.

In the midst of the daily barrage of depressing and ugly stories, we're reminded of the truly great Americans like these people who have grit and selflessness. Amen, OP! I've watched some of the rescues today, mostly locals, but in every disaster, the Cajun Navy arrives, too. It is a blessing to watch the care with which these fearless men rush into danger to carry to safety people who have endured such horrors, shaking, cold, hungry perhaps ill. These heroes are our fellow Americans. They don't ask political affiliation, and they don't waste time on pronouns. They get the job done. They are wonderful.

What was once deemed as “misinformation” by the Biden administration another study has confirmed the implications the Covid-19 vaccines have on women’s health. A large study conducted by the National Institutes of Health found that women of childbearing age who got the Covid vaccine are at heightened risk of 14 different conditions including having a miscarriage, fertility issues, fetal cardiac arrest, and menstrual abnormality. “Pregnancy and menstrual abnormalities are significantly more frequent following COVID-19 vaccinations than that of Influenza vaccinations. A worldwide moratorium on the use of COVID-19 vaccines in pregnancy is advised until randomized prospective trials document safety in pregnancy and long-term follow-up in offspring,”

Just look at Hollywood – it is marinated in reek of left-wing politics so thoroughly that no matter what evidence points to the contrary, it always reverts back to über-leftist “message movies” no one wants to see. As a massive hurricane slammed into Florida on Wednesday evening, the President of the United States attended a fundraiser for the Democratic Governor’s Association. That followed a banner day where Joe Biden asked where a deceased congresswoman was at an event and got confused trying to exit a stage later at the White House. The optics of Biden hobnobbing with his party’s elite while people’s homes while devastation descended on the Sunshine State wasn’t lost on many observers. So what did the president talk about? If you guess that he ranted about threats to “democracy,” which is basically the one-note Democrats continue to desperately play over and over this election cycle,

Dramatic footage showed Weather Channel meteorologist Jim Cantore struggling to stand and being struck by a tree branch while on-air covering Hurricane Ian in Florida. Cantore was reporting live from an intersection in Punta Gorda, Florida, Wednesday when he was nearly taken out by a tree branch as the Category 4 storm bore down on the state’s west coast. The dramatic footage captured Cantore stumbling through heavy rains and 100-mph winds. Cantore was seen placing his hands on the road as he staggered toward a traffic signal. “Give me a second,” he said, barely losing composure as he regained his footing. “You just can’t stand up!”

Breweries could soon see beer shortages thanks to an unprecedented carbon dioxide contamination that is taking the industry by storm. The potential shortage would be due to an extinct underground volcano in Mississippi contaminating the naturally-occurring carbon dioxide reservoir in the area, adding supply chain woes to the already devastating effects of inflation. "It's certainly something we're keeping close attention to," said Ronn Friedlander, co-CEO of Massachusetts' Aeronaut Brewing Company. "We have to figure out some way to continue to source CO2 and, for now, we're actually just staying ahead of it, but it's certainly a big concern for us," he added.

Scientists fear they've found the next big pandemic threat — a virus that lives in monkeys in Africa. Simian hemorrhagic fever virus (SHFV) causes devastating internal bleeding and kills virtually every primate it infects. It hijacks the immune system, disabling key defense mechanisms and breaking the body down cell by cell. No cases have been detected in humans yet but it is 'poised for a spillover', according to US researchers. By developing tests and monitoring the virus now 'the global health community could potentially avoid another pandemic', they said. Experts at the University of Colorado Boulder are raising the alarm due to SHFV's 'compatibility… with humans'. In a lab study,
