FBI insiders say agents who took a knee
during BLM protests were rewarded

The politicization of the FBI is being implemented by the promotion of liberal agents into positions of authority and the punishment or dismissal of agents who support conservative causes, FBI insiders told The Washington Times. They said this institutionalizes a liberal bias in the upper ranks of the nation’s premier law enforcement agency. In one high-profile example, an FBI agent on duty demonstrated solidarity with Black Lives Matter marchers in Washington by “taking a knee” as the protesters passed. The agent was rewarded with a promotion to a supervisor rank.

I’m not surprised, but I’m sure glad this is finally coming out. Just hope the Republicans have the nads to do something about it.

Arizona Teachers’ Union Push to Overturn
School-Choice Expansion Fails

The teachers’ union-backed campaign to overturn school-choice expansion in Arizona has failed due to a shortfall in signatures, the state’s secretary of state announced Thursday. Under the expansion of Arizona’s universal-voucher program, known as the Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA), enacted in June, over one million K-12 public school students in the state will become eligible to receive vouchers to fund their attendance at private, charter, or home schools, up from the 11,000 students who are currently eligible. To subject the expansion to a referendum, the anti-school-choice advocacy group Save Our Schools Arizona had to collect 118,823 valid signatures.

A late ruling yesterday in federal court delivered a setback for Pacific Legal Foundation in its lawsuit against Biden’s Academia bailout. However, the circumstances that prompted it may have delivered even more fodder for six states suing the Biden administration. Let’s start with the first domino to fall. The Biden administration suddenly reversed course on providing comprehensive and compulsory student-loan debt forgiveness yesterday after seeing the PLF complaint. The Department of Education changed the rules to undercut Frank Garrison’s standing in the first lawsuit, and to head off part of the complaint filed later in the week by the six states: In a remarkable reversal

The Hubble Space Telescope, a science warrior, has logged over 30 years in orbit studying the mysteries of the universe, and NASA would love to extend its usable life for as long as possible. It might be a long shot, but Elon Musk's SpaceX could potentially step in to give Hubble a helping hand.  NASA, SpaceX and Jared Isaacman, a private astronaut with the Polaris Program, hosted a media teleconference on Thursday to announce a feasibility study that will look into sending a commercial Dragon spacecraft to reboost Hubble, placing the telescope into a higher and more stable orbit than it's currently in.

Russian president Vladimir Putin announced in a speech on Friday that Russia would be formally annexing several regions of Ukraine that it continues to occupy. Since invading its western neighbor in February, Russian forces have suffered heavy losses, and have more recently been pushed back toward their own border after a Ukrainian counter-offensive found success. In spite of the recent military setbacks, Putin asserted that “the citizens of Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhia, and Kherson have become our citizens forever,” directly addressing Ukraine’s government and “its real masters in the West.”
A Winning Midterm Strategy for Republicans 15 replies

The GOP always has to deal with the shaft they get from the legacy media. While the “Commitment to America” (COA) may not go as far as many conservatives would like, it does contain some broadly popular policy prescriptions. Because Democrats and their stenographers in the press know this, they will downplay the details. However, the game Democrats and the media are playing is easy to see in a recent poll of likely voters. In partnership with the Trafalgar Group, Convention of States Action conducted a national survey to measure how likely voters perceived the case to vote for the GOP made by Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy when he unveiled the COA.

Hurricane Ian has, for good reason, consumed the news cycles this week in light of its record devastation across southwest Florida, but in the midst of their substantial coverage, the broadcast networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC have refused to mention President Biden chose to attend a Democratic Governors Association (DGA) fundraiser on Wednesday night as billions of dollars in damage were being inflicted, lives lost, and storm surge inundated the region. In contrast, at least five Fox News Channel shows cared to mention Biden’s decision to spend time raising money to put Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) out of office as his state faces one of the worst

I have been arguing that the political environment is much worse for Democrats than the current narrative suggests, and as the midterms approach that is starting to be reflected in the polls. And since the polls in recent years have significantly undercounted Republicans, things may be even worse for Democrats. We won’t know if the polls this year are as bad as those in recent elections, so I will refrain from adding my traditional 3+ points to Republican ratings. In the Wisconsin Senate and gubernatorial races things are looking really bad for Democrats. RealClearPolitics rates the race a “toss-up,” but the polls seem to indicate that is no longer

RedState brought you the story last week of how between 20-30 armed FBI agents showed up early on the morning of September 23 at Catholic activist Mark Houck’s home, pounding relentlessly against the door until he opened it, flashing semi-automatic weapons at his wife and seven children, then taking him away—handcuffed with a belly-chain—while his terrorized, screaming family cried in the background. His crime? He allegedly shoved a man who was verbally abusing his 12-year-old son and getting up into his face. What in the world is going on here? The United States Senate passed a short-term government funding bill on Thursday after over two dozen Republicans crossed party lines to avert a shutdown. In an 72-25 vote, the Senate passed a funding measure meant to keep the government afloat until December 16. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said the more than two-month extension would allow lawmakers from both sides of the aisle one last chance at negotiating a year-long budget deal before the new Congress takes office in January. "Let's hope this is the last [stop gap], they do so we get an omnibus [budget] done in December," said Schumer, D-N.Y.

If a week is a long time in politics, 24-hours can seem like an eternity, especially when a White House administration is confused by basic historical facts. U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris amply illustrated this Thursday when she ended her four-day trip to Asia with a journey to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) dividing the Korean Peninsula. During the stop she confused onlooks by asserting the United States has a “strong alliance” with “the Republic of North Korea.” “It is an alliance that is strong and enduring,” she added, intending to refer to the Republic of Korea, which is South Korea’s official name. Scientists fear they've found the next big pandemic threat — a virus that lives in monkeys in Africa. Simian hemorrhagic fever virus (SHFV) causes devastating internal bleeding and kills virtually every primate it infects. It hijacks the immune system, disabling key defense mechanisms and breaking the body down cell by cell. No cases have been detected in humans yet but it is 'poised for a spillover', according to US researchers. By developing tests and monitoring the virus now 'the global health community could potentially avoid another pandemic', they said. Experts at the University of Colorado Boulder are raising the alarm due to SHFV's 'compatibility… with humans'. In a lab study,

Mayor Eric Adams is finalizing a deal with the Norwegian Cruise Line to house migrants on one of its massive cruise ships and dock it at Staten Island’s Homeport, The Post has learned. Adams wants to lease the luxury liner for at least six months and use it to house and process migrants before they enter the city’s shelter system, a source familiar with the matter said. The migrants would be allowed to come and go while staying on the ship, the source said. Preliminary estimates show the plan will be “cheaper” than erecting another tent city similar to the one the city plans to open in the Bronx
