Everyone can sense that the political situation we find ourselves in is anything but normal. Yet the language we use to describe current conflicts is a language designed to frame them in the category of politics as usual - only perhaps more so. In speaking about current conflicts, we focus on the surface “issues” that divide us – a record inflation, off-the-charts crime waves in our urban centers, a humanitarian crisis at our southern border. Sometimes we sum it up as a double standard in the justice system that treats violent leftists as “peaceful protesters” and public school parents concerned about the abuse of their children as “domestic terrorists.”

The first bus of migrants sent from Texas by Governor Greg Abbott arrived in New York City on Friday morning. The group was dropped off at Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan after making the almost 2,000-mile trip from the border that lasted days. A group of charity workers and volunteers greeted the roughly 50 migrants, who were mostly men, before they ventured into the city for hotels or shelters. One of the arrivals Jose Rodriguez, 38, told DailyMail.com he chose New York because it has the 'best opportunities' of the options he was given when he crossed the border.

"We are very excited about Milwaukee," RNC chair Ronna McDaniel emphasized in a Fox News Digital interview on the eve of the vote. Milwaukee and Nashville, Tennessee were the final two cities among a large list that were initially in contention to host the 2024 Republican National Convention. President Biden on Thursday again urged Congress to pass the $739 billion reconciliation package, vowing that it will "lower" the record-high inflation Americans are facing and cut the deficit as the U.S. grapples with a recession. "My message to Congress is this: Listen to the American people," Biden said. "This is the strongest bill you can pass to lower inflation, continue to cut the deficit, reduce health care costs, tackle a climate crisis and promote America’s energy security and reduce the burdens facing working-class and middle-class families. "Pass it. Get it to my desk. Pass it for the American people.

Although Fetterman runs ads that purport him to be a “blue collar tough guy,” his parents reportedly financially supported him while he served as mayor of Braddock, Pennsylvania, for 13 years. Fetterman, who has acknowledged his “cushy” suburban childhood, has openly admitted to the financial contributions his parents gave him as an adult.

Hundreds of Afghan evacuees reached the U.S. despite appearing on a Defense Department watchlist or a crucial counterterrorism database, Republican senators charged Thursday, citing the claims of a whistleblower. Sens. Josh Hawley and Ron Johnson said they were told that 324 Afghans reached the U.S. despite appearing on the Defense Department’s Biometrically Enabled Watchlist (BEWL). In addition, 65 Afghans who made it to American soil showed up in the department’s Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS)—up from 50 who were reported to have been flagged by an inspector general in February. The senators also said they were told that political appointees ordered military officers to “cut corners” on fingerprint checks

Though it’s not certain yet whether children were included among the victims, authorities have stated that they are working to, “treat injured children and comfort victims’ families in a timely manner.” The alleged perpetrator was apprehended 12 hours after the attack after fleeing the scene to a nearby mountainous region, which was followed by an extensive manhunt. That search included over 1,000 police officers. It’s a horrific story, and our prayers and sympathies go out to those poor families.

Russia's penal colonies are descendants of the notorious Soviet-era gulags where prisoners have been subjected to harsh treatment and poor conditions. Prisoners in the system have been beaten by other inmates, endured torture and forced to watch Russian propaganda for hours every day in what's known as "awareness raising." This writer's view is that this is being brought about by a premeditated and conscious alliance between the Democrat party and the far left, which had begun under President Barack Obama and has intensified under President Joe Biden. This intensification is the result of a landmark alliance between the far left and the Democrats taken in 2020, combined with the continuity of advisory personnel from the eight Obama years.

Out of Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century progressive reforms came the collectivist notion that disease could be eradicated with government-compelled one size fits all treatments without need for reliance on individual doctor-patient relationships. Physicians would become mere functionaries of the public health establishment. That collectivist conception gave rise to what is an oxymoron, “public health.” Truth be told, there is no such thing as “public health;” only individuals are diagnosable, and each has a unique physiological state for which a tailored treatment is almost always the best. The notion of a discernible “public health” drove creation of public health bureaucracies, like FDA, CDC, and HHS, together with state
