Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has suspended State Attorney Andrew Warren for 'picking and choosing which laws to enforce based on his personal agenda,' and has appointed Susan Lopez as his replacement during the suspension. (snip) Update: DeSantis sent state police to physically remove Warren from his office, "with access only to retrieve his personal belongings, and (ii) to ensure that no files, papers, documents, notes, records, computers, or removable storage media are removed from the Office of the State Attorney..."
I like De Santis more everyday. This is the kind of man we need to help turn this country around, and we need them in all depts. of government, not just the WH.

As much as I like and appreciate what Trump achieved, his fatal flaw was that he never really drained the swamp, and his embedded enemies in all the executive branch agencies continuously fought and undermined him. THIS indeed is how you drain the swamp and not just talk about draining the swamp.

I would love to be a fly on the wall. As Soros recently said "I will continue to back my district attorneys". As good Governor's say, "bring law enforcement in to remove this clown".

If DeSantis keeps this up the democrat eye of Sauron will be turned on him just like it is turned on Trump. In fact, you can bet that every ounce of effort is being put into that effort right now. Democrats will aggressively attack him because he is fearless and centered in his beliefs. He knows them and mocks them.
There are legions more just like Andrew Warren embedded in our government and they need to get the same treatment.

Thank you Governor Di Santis. The rest of the states need to take note of how to be a great Governor. The people of Florida salute you. When President Trump is re-elected he needs to appoint Ron Di Santis Attorney General. That would be the best way to truly drain the swamp.

Desantis has guts. I'd love to see a Trump Desantis ticket, because That would give us 12 years to start draining the Swamp. And maybe we could find some young patriots to continue the job after they're done.
In my father's generation, If someone argued thei point fiercely and competently, their oponent would end the discussion with, "Aww... you outa be in politics!" It was not praise as it was gospel that only crooks and thieves thrived in politics. Even among the Founders, our political First Generation, the Crooks and thieves were checked only by the popularity of true Patriots that led the US's early years.
But they quickly found ways to ensure they had free reign, through hiring their own kind, and passing laws and regulations that benefited them. Today they have a system developed over decades, enshrined to protect themselves, and either destroy or corrupt Americans who love this country and want it to reach its Promise. Obama once claimed the rot in America went back to its founding, and he was correct. He simply said it in a misleading way, as he is the public head of its current iteration.

This is how you remove a fired employee in a corporate setting. You make sure he doesn’t remove sensitive material or punch anyone on they way out. Personal things are packed and carried out by Security to the fired employees car. I knew of one case where the head of HR carried the fired employee’s belongings to his car in dark green garbage bags. I hope that would have been the case with this arrogant Warren louse.

I've yet to see anything saying how long this suspension is is to last. At a minimum it should be "until further notice." Ideally it would be permanent.

Attorney general in the Trump WhiteHouse.
What DeSantis continues to do is identify himself as a capable reformer and a key figure in what will be an existential cleaning of the Augean stables in Washington DC. Trump has demonstrated vision and the ability to withstand more than anyone can be expected as he leads us against the neomarxist cancer that is rapidly eating away. But this is great and every red state governor should take copious notes.

Kudos to DeSantis for his courage and common sense in dealing with foreign-influence (Soros) meddling end runs around our laws. He his leading the way on how to combat these rogue DAs and Secretaries of State (state level election certifiers).
Regarding Trump, there's are some criticisms here that he did not drain the swamp enough. Perhaps. Consider that Trump was (and largely still is) a political outsider. He's a businessman by trade. That is how he thinks and acts. The "Swamp" or "Deep State" by its very nature is political and is a tangled web with many power players and opportunists. Trump was new to how the game is played in DC and no one could have imagined what a visceral reaction he caused once he was elected in 2016. He was a threat to their power and he had to be taken out at all costs--including by members of his own party AND cabinet. That was something Trump did not expect. But, if anything, it did reveal the level of rot and the duplicitous nature of very people that were supposed to be his allies.

I love DeSantis but I really want President Trump to have his second term. Put DeSantis on the ticket and then PDT can put him in charge of draining the swamp. That lets PDT focus on the economy, the border, foreign policy, etc.

# 3 the problem with Trump's approach to draining the swamp was, he probably thought he could win over the power players in Washington, like he has done so many times in wheeling and dealing in the business world, all over the world. So he didn't take the time between election and taking oath of office to require letters of resignation from EVERYONE, to be looked at and accepted given the "so sorry to see you go" speech and kicked out. I'm afraid that would have been an impossible dream, to turn the ingrained government topsy turvy like that. But with his leadership perhaps the states could have stepped in and did the job the Constitution requires of them. I admire De Santis, but think there is only one person that could ever have a chance at saving our government and our nation and that is Donald Trump.

Don't stop there! Send SWAT to his house at 4AM to force he and his wife out in their night clothes and handcuffs in order to confiscate electronic devices and personal documents related to his George Soros affiliation. Does Andy take orders from the 'Dark Lord' Soros or from the Governor of Florida?

I would hate to lose deSantis as my governor, but the POTUS position is good for the country. However, the VP position is largely symbolic and a back-up for the President. They live in the shadows and attend state funerals. (and put in charge of the southern border!) After 4 or 8 years, most of them live in obscurity.

Under Article III, section 17: "The governor, lieutenant governor, members of the cabinet, justices of the supreme court, judges of district courts of appeal, judges of circuit courts, and judges of county courts shall be liable to impeachment."
Article IV, section 7(a), of the State Constitution: By executive order stating the grounds and filed with the custodian of state records, the governor may suspend from office any state officer not subject to impeachment..."
The issue that will be argued is that the Forida Constitution uses the permissive "may" when discussing the prosecutorial duties of the State Attorney. If one reads the DeSantis suspension, it lacks specificity regarding cases. This could get real interesting in litigation.

Sad to see every thread about DeSantis turn into a zero sum pissing match between Trump and the governor. I suspect some posters are here to specifically sow division. Why does it have to be either or? Can’t they both be great, and deserving of office? Conservatives need a lot more of both of them, in many different capacities. We don’t have to choose with every new article about either one of them.

#3 Russia going into Ukraine is draining the swamp. Boris leaving is draining the swamp. Trump has been draining the swamp since he started. So what happens in October? Durham in court. 35+ indictments served. Musk and Twitter. Trump announced last week that he was working with Musk on Twitter. - More draining. Election fraud exploding. More to drain. Destroying the Central Bank - drip drip drip. This will all come together in the next few months. Even DeSantis is part of Trumps plan.

#31, respectfully, NONE of the things you listed are "draining the swamp." They are indeed some of the important and positive results Trump achieved (and for which I would still happily vote for him), but they didn't clear out the many stealth saboteurs and leftist apparatchiks throughout the federal agencies that ultimately conspired successfully to not only obstruct him but also to destroy him and his re-election. That swamp is still there.
It was either a serious miscalculation on his part, thinking he could work around them, or preoccupation with other pressing matters, but the fact is, he didn't drain the swamp. And now it's even much bigger, with much more-emboldened swamp creatures to wreak havoc on our government and our citizens.
For my fellow conservatives on this forum, on which I've been an avid and respectful poster as long as anybody here currently, I also want to add that we shouldn't be afraid to speak objectively and honestly about ANY of our preferred leaders, whether it's Trump, DeSantis, or anyone else. Such objective criticism is NOT divisive.
