After several days of various Washington Post staffers dragging internal feuds into the public square of Twitter, Executive Editor Sally Buzbee sent a memo to Post staff admonishing them to “treat each other with respect and kindness.” And of course, because we live in the year 2022 and that sadly seems to be how things work, Buzbee’s missive spawned newly tweeted vitriolic spats.
The kerfuffle began when Post political reporter David Weigel retweeted a tweet by YouTuber Cam Harless that said, “Every girl is bi. You just have to figure out if it’s polar or sexual.”
Washington Post reporter Felicia Sonmez continued to complain about her colleagues on Sunday morning after a retweet engulfed the newsroom in controversy on Friday. Sonmez shared screenshots from what she described as public attacks against her by fellow Washington Post reporter Jose A. Del Real.
"When women stand up for themselves, some people respond with even more vitriol. Last night, a Post colleague publicly attacked me for calling out another colleague’s sexist tweet. He first hid any replies objecting to his attacks, and now seems to have deleted his account," Sonmez tweeted.

A Georgia teen was arrested last week after allegedly threatening to kill Fulton County Sheriff Patrick Labat and his wife over the arrests of rapper Young Thug and 27 other gang members involved in a mass indictment operation, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.
Eighteen-year-old Quartavius Mender was charged on May 26 with 23 counts of felony terroristic threats directed toward Labat, his wife, and an Atlanta school district police chief, the Associated Press (AP) reported.
The alleged death threats were made in the “comments of Instagram posts of Sheriff Pat Labat, the Gwinnett County Sheriff, the Fulton Clerk, and more,” Fox 5 noted.

I haven’t written much about the latest round of gun control hysteria, mostly because I have said everything I have to say on that topic many times over the years. The liberal solutions to mass shooting incidents, which are very rare, are every bit as silly and ineffective as their solutions to crime in general, which is ubiquitous and therefore vastly more important. Defunding the police makes about as much sense as banning some arbitrarily selected category of firearm. Neither measure will do anything to stem the tide of crime and violence that has swept over us.

Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Friday blasted President Joe Biden and his administration for having created the record-high inflation and gas prices across the United States.
Jordan told Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Company” that he was not as surprised as Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said she was that inflation followed the “crazy” spending, paying people not to work and doing away with energy independence. He suggested it was “intentional” by the White House.
