Pomp and pageantry kicked off the final day of Platinum Jubilee celebrations celebrating the Queen's 70-year reign as a hologram of the young monarch waving at royal fans and a ceremonial military procession launched the spectacular £15million Pageant.(Snip)The Queen, 96, was missing from the royal box but she is set to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside Charles, Camilla, William and Kate at the end of the 2½-hour procession. The Royal Standard was raised at at around 4.31pm amid the spectacle of the £15million carnival, meaning Her Majesty has arrived at the Palace from Windsor Castle. The monarch has not been seen in public since

Comments:

USA again is Number One. We have a hologram who stands in as our pResident, and our wealth is so limitless that we transport his husk back and forth from Delaware to DC every weekend. Meanwhile, in the parade, notice all of the homages to Diversity, and at least one to Pride (shouldn't Jimmy Saville be honoured on the Pride Bus?).

It's England, their culture, enriching their heritage in otherwise difficult times. I celebrate with them, as an American, to an English speaking ally, with appropriate recognition of 70 years with the Queen.

70 years at a job where circumstance placed her. A lot of perks, a lot of negatives. A life service to her country. Worthy of a celebration.

No one does ceremony like England. I enjoyed the photos because they were so varied. The local parties in the town streets vs. the royal pomp. The Queen has a sense of humor. And the common sense to stay home and take care of herself.

I love me some Royals but this has been a wee bit much even for us most ardent Anglophiles. What do they think this is, going on for 4 full days? The Kardashian, Beckham or Paris Hilton weddings? Those marriages probably won't last a total of 7 years unlike the remarkable Elizabeth R...long may she reign!

I missed all of it due to my daughter’s wedding, but I don’t begrudge the queen a single minute of her celebration. She has accomplished something that no one else in all of history has done. God bless her!

Two Uvalde cops passed up a chance to take out the gunman who killed 19 kids and two teachers at a Texas elementary school before he entered the building, according to a report. The officers worked for the city, and one was armed with an AR-15-style rifle as the May 24 massacre at Robb Elementary School unfolded. But they hesitated to open fire at Salvador Ramos because they did not want to hit any nearby children, Chief Deputy Ricardo Rios of the Zavalla County Sheriff’s office told The New York Times.(Snip)The missed opportunity came moments after a school district officer drove past Ramos without seeing him
