A Sensible Position on Crime and Guns

I haven’t written much about the latest round of gun control hysteria, mostly because I have said everything I have to say on that topic many times over the years. The liberal solutions to mass shooting incidents, which are very rare, are every bit as silly and ineffective as their solutions to crime in general, which is ubiquitous and therefore vastly more important. Defunding the police makes about as much sense as banning some arbitrarily selected category of firearm. Neither measure will do anything to stem the tide of crime and violence that has swept over us. The National Rifle Association has a great deal more expertise

If stringent gun control were effective in reducing crimes committed by criminals with guns, Chicago would be among the safest cities in America. But it isn't, so why does the Left persist with these useless efforts unless their real intention is to take all of our constitutional rights away? We know the answer. We're not going to budge. And Republicans in Capitol Hill who budge (Lindsay Graham, etc.) is not worthy to serve the citizens of the USA in Congress.

We need to focus on the criminals and not on the tools used to commit crimes. Is this not just common sense? Of course this is not political so here we are.

This is the first time I've seen good numbers on the changes in available mental wards. In the 1950s we had 340 mental hospital beds per 100,000 people, now we have less than 12 per 100,000. So, the mentally ill are now out playing out their transgender insanity, other forms of mental illness and their violent mental illness in homeless camps and via violent attacks and murders, whether one at a time, or many. Does anyone believe that mental illness is down from 340/100K to 12/100K? I know I don't believe it. If you make the reasonable assumption that at least 85% of those 340 mental ward beds per 100,000 were occupied by dangerously deranged people, and that we probably have just as many crazy people today per capita as we did then (seems like more), and all our 12 per 100K beds are full, it means we have around 277 deranged people per 100,000 not being cared for, and walking around the streets causing harm to themselves and others. In a city like LA, with a population of around 4 million, that's around 11,000 people who wind up as "the homeless" and doing violent crimes. In NYC, with twice that population, that means well over 20,000 mental cases, many violent, roaming the streets, many "the homeless". If only 5% are violent, that's still 1,000+ violent mentally ill people walking around in NYC all the time. Perhaps this is why they are in the news so often. THIS is why things are "starting to seem so crazy" these days. Because we have very large numbers of the mentally ill roaming our cities and towns, because we no longer put them in hospitals and care for them, we let them wander loose, much to the detriment of society and those mentally ill people. Next time it seems like "things are so crazy these days".....this is likely why.

Good read but it is laying out treatments for the symptoms not addressing the root cause. Over the last 60 years what else has changed aside from the number of beds available psychiatric hospitals in America? That has filled our streets with never before seen numbers of violent and insane? The democrat party, the farther Left it goes the more ill, unstable, and volatile American society becomes. The only real solution to stopping this is to stop voting Democrat, teach your kids to never vote democrat and make sure they teach their kids to never under any circumstances vote democrat! If we are to save American society the democrat party must dismantled.

“Conservatives” are no better, wanting to hire 100,000 more school police and arm teachers. In Uvalde and Broward we could see the results huddling in the parking lots. The essential answer is to first lock the doors and keep them locked, with severe consequences for anyone opening an exterior door without authorization. But that’s too simple and apolitical. More school cops is like hiring more TSA screeners…

Positions laid out by conservatives and the NRA are anathema to the Democrats. Judging by the daily news and our elections system, most of their constituents seem to be lawbreakers. Cant have them locked up.

When politicians talk it all comes down to politics. As an example where do unstable teenagers living in small towns, as did the two recent shooters learn about the insane concept of shooting up grocery stores and schools to murder as many innocent shoppers, students, and teachers as possible with most times they themselves becoming suicide by cop victims? As concepts like mass school shootings, and shooting up grocery stores for racial reasons, before the Internet culture of violent video games and very strange social media sites took hold, were absolutely unknown throughout small towns of America, where almost everyone owned firearms that were then only used for hunting and rarely for self-protection purposes. So getting back to the political angle of those issues, clearly the Internet video games and the vast majority of strange social media sights are created and operated by individuals and entities that are very liberal and left wing in nature and therefor politically support the leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrats. History shows that when the Democrats talk about political fixes for mass school shootings and the like, the last thing they want to discuss is anything got to do with the entertainment industry and their violent movie and video productions that show masses of people being killed in one way or another that are bound to leave crazy thoughts in the minds of unstable recipients including what teenagers, in big and small towns all over the country, easily find on the Internet, like off the wall social media and video game sites whereby unstable young people inexperienced in life can easily communicate and plot with other unstable or mentally ill people all over the world, to among other things perpetrate mass murder. Clearly the Democrats ignore all that because the entertainment and Internet industries are liberal Democrat supporting industries. On the other hand the Democrats have no problem attacking the US firearms and related industries and at the drop of a hat will do everything they can get away with putting those industries out of business by banning all their products that relate to Americans keeping and bearing modern firearms by in part pushing leftist created and mythical terms such as calling just about all those firearms held and used by over 100 million law abiding Americans as being “assault weapons” and “weapons of war” that should be banned. A big reason why the Democrats have been trying to perpetrate the idea that modern firearms should not be owned by law abiding Americans is that the US firearms and related industries are mostly all conservative in nature and support Republican political positions. So putting those industries out of business and eliminating the hundreds of thousands of good jobs that those industries provide to ordinary people are of no interest to the Democrats.

Guns Are Not the Problem 4 replies

In the wake of recent mass shootings in New York, Texas, and Oklahoma, Democrats are once again sending Americans up a blind alley. Their “solution” is to punish millions of law-abiding gun owners for the crimes of a few evil maniacs. Undeniably, there is a certain appeal to this response. Gun control is a facile “fix” to a complex problem. Americans have owned guns since the founding, but it wasn’t until comparatively recently that mass shootings became a concern. Guns are not the problem. Our culture is. Broken cultures produce broken human beings. For every school shooter, there are thousands of other weak, confused, mentally disturbed men
U.S. Seeks Jerusalem Consulate For Palestinians 5 replies

The US State Department once again is resuscitating the idea of reopening a Jerusalem consulate. But according to Al-Arabiya, the US is committed to the reopening of the US consulate in Jerusalem. Ned Price, the State Department spokesman told reporters last Tuesday that, “We continue to believe it can be an important way for our country to engage with and provide support for the Palestinian people.” If that is to happen, the Biden administration will be responsible for rewarding the Palestinians for their intransigence and terror, as well as undermining Israel’s sovereignty over a united Jerusalem. There was a major problem with the 2020 Census, and most people probably haven’t heard about it, even though it has enormous implications. At the end of May, the Census Bureau admitted that it miscounted 14 states in the 2020 Census. Why didn’t the media make a big stink about this story? Maybe it was overshadowed by the recent mass shootings, that’s certainly a possibility, but I have another theory. Here are the states that the Census acknowledged it overcounted: Hawaii, Delaware, Rhode Island, Minnesota, New York, and Massachusetts. Here are the states that the Census acknowledged it undercounted: Texas, Illinois, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas. Well, gee, isn’t that interesting.

Two of the senators leading the bipartisan negotiations on gun reform legislation advised against President Joe Biden getting involved in their talks. In separate interviews Sunday, Sens. Chris Murphy (D-CT) and Pat Toomey (R-PA) rejected the suggestion that including the commander in chief would be useful to their efforts. Asked on CNN's State of the Union whether Biden's involvement would be helpful, Murphy said that the current talks should continue being led by lawmakers on Capitol Hill, rather than the White House. "I think the Senate needs to do this ourselves," the Connecticut Democrat said. "I have talked to the White House every single day since these negotiations began,

In fact, let's also repeal the National Firearms Act and impose national constitutional carry. I think this compromise fairly balances our respective legitimate interests regarding guns. Our legitimate interest is maintaining the capacity to deter and defeat tyrants and criminals. Your legitimate interest in limiting our ability to do so is non-existent. There are several Republicans who are apparently eager to come to a compromise on guns with the Democrats, whose ultimate goal is to

Cleta, a top-notch lawyer, was a partner in an international law firm until she had to resign because leftists besieged her law firm’s clients, demanding that she be fired. She is now working on election integrity issues for the Conservative Partnership Institute. Whenever I see a child who has clearly been corrupted by adults with LGBTQ agendas, I get angry at the kid’s father. Did he abandon his children to the full-time attentions of a deranged mother? Is he present but too whipped to be a strong father? What man would allow such a thing to be done to his son or daughter? Yes, the mother enrages me as well, but a society in which real men exist would never allow the over-the-top grooming and wholesale destruction of childhood innocence that goes on these days. Some observers say Turkish Recep Erdogan is once again using migrants as a political weapon against Greece as at least 40,000 people so far this year have been been turned away at the border. The Greek Coast Guard has intercepted around 40,000 migrants attempting to enter the country from Turkey via the Aegean Sea. “In the first four months of 2022, about 40,000 migrants tried to enter the country illegally,” Civil Protection Minister Takis Theodorikakos revealed. Observers say that Erdogan is once again using migrants as a weapon, this time to punish Greece for trying to block the sale of American fighter jets to Turkey.
