Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that he hoped at least half of his Republican colleagues in the Senate would vote for the gun package he was currently negotiating.Partial transcript as follows: MARGARET BRENNAN: Well, we see overwhelming support in our CBS polling for background checks, which is why it’s interesting that it’s difficult. There was a Republican congressman in the state of New York, I’m sure you heard about this. Chris Jacobs. He represents a district around Buffalo where there was an awful mass shooting just a few weeks ago, he dropped out of his reelection race.

If there's no other way to remove them, they can do it themselves, like Jacobs (NY-R) who's retiring because he supports the Dem plan.
Republican Rep. Chris Jacobs announced Friday that he will not run for another term in Congress amid backlash over his support for new gun control measures.

We paid $1000 for a handgun 6 weeks ago. Our state law says paperwork would take 10 business days. We still don’t have results or the gun. The gun shop said they sent in paperwork and the powers that be say they never received paperwork. What’s going on?

Link anything to raising age to vote to 21.
After all, nearly all major issues are set with 21 as the age, thus, so should voting

The laws are already in place, just follow them. There could have been so many lives saved if the rules had just been followed.

The ONLY people not going through background checks already are the criminals who buy and sell stolen and illegally purchased guns, some via straw buyers who commit a federal felony when they do so.
Expect to here a LOT about the "GunShow Loophole"..there isn't one, Most traders/exhibitors there are already FFL dealers so have to do them by law, and have a direct link to the FBI at their booth/table. At every gun show there is also a table of cops doing instant background checks via the FBI. If someone doesn't pass the Insta Check? They have to wait...the number of barred/banned people that attempt...repeatedly... to buy after being rejected is NOT ever punished. THAT is a federal Crime as well.(Hunter Biden committed one when he lied on his purchase form)
Nearly ALL shooters(and their targets) have prior gun crime arrests that they were allowed(encouraged) to plea bargain out of so that a "Felony wouldn't ruin their Lives". Or served reduced/probation sentences on. Freeing them to ruin the lives of many others.

I contacted my two Senators about this, politely making it clear that my vote and my family's vote depended on them not supporting ANY increases in restrictions on our gun rights.
I hope others will make the same effort. Even a RINO can sometimes recognize that a suicide mission shouldn't be embarked on.

RE #5, in Kansas there are no state laws at all regarding the sale of guns. NONE. The only restrictions here in Free Kansas are the required instant background check by the Feds. And, if you have a concealed carry permit....that is waived.
Here, I can walk into a gun store, pay my money and walk out in 15 minutes with the gun, not one piece of paperwork by the state, only the feds' damned 4473.
Gun rights are civil rights. Move to one of the 25 states that will let you carry that gun concealed without any state paperwork at all, once you get it.

Red flad laws are bull, too. Widely abused. An angry girlfriend hates her old boyfriend....drop a dime and the red flag laws gets all his guns taken away, many places ZERO chance to defend his rights. Just DONE.

The Democrats would love to destroy the Republican Senators hopes of ever being re-elected by convincing them to support gun control. That is precisely the tactic here.

Re #22, in Kansas you can buy a long gun if you live in an adjacent state, but Federal law prohibits purchasing a handgun out of your own state. Kansas wouldn't care, but the feds block it. Purchasing a handgun in another state is a federal felony. Probably one of the most commonly committed federal felonies, I'd guess, but I sure as hell will never do it.
If the question is "can a non-resident carry concealed in Kansas", the answer is "Yes, but with a permit from your home state." Oklahoma specifically lets KS residents carry with only their KS driver's license to show that they are a KS resident. The details of the KS-Missouri reciprocity without permits is unclear to me, at this time. Since I have had a permit for many years, I haven't needed to investigate that particular aspect. Missouri is a Constitutional Carry state (but has permits available) and Kansas is the same. With a KS permit you can carry in about 37 or more states, but other than Oklahoma, I'm fuzzy on reciprocity in various Constitutional Carry states for non-residents without permits. Kansas recognizes all other state permits for CCW.
If you are a resident, or active duty military, and legally able to purchase a handgun (Federal laws) you can own it and carry it here in Kansas, openly or concealed, although I almost never see open carry, but have seen it a bit. Last was a guy in Walmart. Nobody paid any attention.
