The Inside Story of Joe Manchin's Break-up
With Joe Biden Exposes a White House out
of Control

President Joe Biden’s tenuous relationship with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) is making news again after an inside report has exposed just how out of control the White House is. Back in December of 2021, negotiations over a massive reconciliation bill between Biden and Manchin were nearing completion. According to The Washington Post, Manchin had already agreed to a $1.8 trillion topline, which is notably a lot more than the spending cap he was committed to publicly. In the grand scheme of things, Biden and his progressive allies were on course to get most of what they wanted. Then an act of defiance set everything on fire.

It could be time for the Demented Fuhrer to offer "goodies" to Maine, Alaska and Utah. The RINO Trio - Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Mitt "Pierre Delecto" are probably awaiting the $$$ amounts. Lisa "Bridge To Nowhere" Murkowski needs help but you can count on her to employ shenanigans for the August primary.

"it’s still hard to imagine why they would participate in such an act of self-sabotage" The answer: "Arrogance is a funny thing" Progressives are astonishingly arrogant. That leads them to completely despise anyone else that is not in lockstep with their goals. We can be grateful that they are so arrogant and blew BBB out of the water. Inflation would have been MUCH worse and I'm sure that there was a LOT of nasty stuff buried in the bill that would have been very bad for the Country. When you think about it, the whole reason the dems are in such bad shape for the election is because they are arrogant. They don't care about the consequences of the things they have done and they only pay lip service to the suffering they have caused to the American people.

Can anyone imagine where we would be, inflation-wise, if that bloated Build Back Better bill had passed? I wish Manchin had opposed it more on philosophical and economic reasons, but I'm still happy he did.

The WH staff despises Manchin because he has the deciding vote? Did they every stop to consider exactly how he got that vote and why the senate is 50/50? The left did this to themselves with their odious policies, but they will never be able to face up to that reality.

I’ve been through these situations before where the story being put forward in public does not make sense and yet everyone seems eager to just move on. If you were around more than a decade ago when a congressman named Anthony Weiner claimed his Twitter account had been hacked you may know what I mean. If you missed that, his story fell apart but he still wound up running for mayor of NYC sometime later before the whole mess surfaced again and he wound up in prison. I had the same queasy feeling a few years ago when Joy Reid claimed that hackers had added anti-gay commentary to her personal blog.

New York — The Washington Post has suspended reporter David Weigel for one month without pay for retweeting a sexist joke, two people familiar with the matter told CNN on Monday. Weigel did not respond to a request for comment, but an out-of-office reply from his Post email address said that he would return to work on July 5. Weigel apologized publicly last week for the retweet, saying he “did not mean to cause any harm.” A spokesperson for The Post declined to comment, citing a need for privacy regarding personnel matters.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson survived a no-confidence vote Monday that could have ousted him from power as discontent with his rule grows amid a fight for his political life. Conservative members of parliament voted 211-148 in favor of letting Johnson stay in power during a secret ballot in Westminster. In an interview with Sky News, Johnson called the vote a "decisive result," despite the fact that 40% of members of his own party split from him. As I noted on Thursday, Ilya Shapiro’s reinstatement at Georgetown’s law school may have been a victory for outside pressure against the forces of cancel culture, but it also sent an unambiguous signal that Georgetown would have caved to the mob and fired Shapiro if it was at liberty to do so, and would lie in wait for the first instant that a student found it politically useful to claim offense at Shapiro in order to make that happen once his defenders had let down their vigilance. That makes an obvious mockery of the university’s supposed commitment to the sort of robust free speech we associate with academic freedom
