You just can’t make this stuff up.
Brian R. McCaffrey is a retired four-star general and MSNBC contributor, but on Monday the distinguished former military officer made a faux pas that he likely won’t live down anytime soon.
He posted a tweet that contained what he apparently thought was actual wartime footage from the Russo-Ukraine conflict, showing what appeared to be a Russian MiG being shot down by Ukrainian missile defenses. Twitter users, however, were quick to inform him it was actually just a clip from a video game.

For the last couple of weeks, my parish has had a woman speak after the mass ended pleading for support for a crisis pregnancy center. I recognized the speaker as the head of a pro-life local group that I had once joined years ago.
My first involvement was a peaceful protest in front of Rep. Susan Molinari's district office and her voting record did not sit well with this woman. When I heard her yell through a mega phone that G od would punish Molinari for supporting abortion, that ended my connection with this group.
Let me be very clear, I am forever pro-life.

The former head of the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce has been charged with lying to a mortgage lender in a growing Orange County political corruption scandal, federal authorities announced Tuesday.
In a criminal complaint, the FBI accused the chamber’s former president and chief executive Todd Ament of plotting with an unnamed political consultant to funnel chamber money into Ament’s personal bank accounts by laundering it through the consultant’s public relations firm.
The money was used to influence a bank’s decision to lend Ament more than $1.1 million to buy a sprawling $1.5-million home in Big Bear, the complaint says.

I’m so old I can remember Bill Clinton blaming the 1995 Oklahoma bombing on Rush Limbaugh. Heck, I’m so old I can recall MSNBC and the rest of the leftist hive mind blaming the 2011 shooting of Rep. Oh, wait—you don’t need to be old for that: the New York Times repeated that outrageous slur in an editorial just four years ago—now the subject of a much-deserved libel suit from Palin.

North Carolina State Sen. Chuck Edwards (R) unseated Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) in the state’s 11th congressional district primary.
Dave Wasserman, the House editor of the Cook Political Report, reported that Cawthorn lost his renomination to state Sen. Edwards. Cawthorn faced increasing attacks from the left and establishment media outlets over many issues ... “I’ve really never seen the swamp launch such a coordinated attack against any individual in politics except for Donald Trump,” Cawthorn said in reaction to the attacks against him.
Former Texas Gov. and Trump Energy Secretary Rick Perry endorsed Edwards during the 11th congressional district primary.

Pennsylvania lieutenant governor John Fetterman won Tuesday night’s Democratic Senate primary, defeating three challengers after he was recently treated for a stroke.
Fetterman, who is still recovering in the hospital after undergoing a “standard procedure to implant a pacemaker with a defibrillator,” bested opponents state representative Malcolm Kenyatta, Jenkintown borough councilwoman Alex Khalil, and U.S. representative Conor Lamb.
As projected, Fetterman currently carries nearly a 30 percent aggregate lead over Lamb, who garnered national attention after winning a 2018 special election to the House in rural Pennsylvania.

More than 20,000 Ukrainians stormed the U.S.-Mexico border last month, showing up at border crossings and asking to be let in under a new leniency policy from the Biden administration. Some 1,500 others snuck across the border between ports of entry and were apprehended by Border Patrol agents, according to new Homeland Security statistics released Tuesday. The Ukrainians were part of a record surge of non-traditional migrants who reached the border in April, exposing new challenges for the Biden administration. Customs and Border Protection counted 108,555 migrants at the southern boundary who came from beyond Mexico or the Northern Triangle countries of Central America. That’s out of about 234,000

On Tuesday, the prosecution and defense teams in special counsel John Durham’s trial against former Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann delivered opening arguments. Sussmann is charged with making false statements to the FBI. During opening arguments, prosecutors revealed that Sussmann used the FBI to create an October surprise during the 2016 presidential election against then-candidate Donald Trump. Despite this revelation that a lawyer for the Clinton campaign lied to the FBI in order to frame Donald Trump, all three evening news broadcasts ignored the story.

In a Politico piece Tuesday, sources told the site that there wasn't a single moment that sparked the change of course, but months of frustration, including that the GOP wouldn't work with the White House to combat inflation. 'I never expected the ultra-MAGA Republicans who seem to control the Republican Party now to have been able to control the Republican Party,' Biden said publicly last week. Polling stations for North Carolina's primary elections have closed as of 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening, with all eyes on scandal-plagued Rep. Madison Cawthorn's first re-election bid. Under parole status, illegal immigrants don’t have to provide Border Patrol with evidence of credible fear for asylum and are permitted entry without any preconditions, except a quick background check in the U.S. crime database.
A Customs and Border Protection spokesman said the parole designation allows for overwhelmed Border Patrol stations to process large numbers of illegal aliens “significantly faster” and release them into the country

The first trial to emerge from Special Counsel John Durham's probe finally got underway Tuesday – as prosecutors accused former Hillary Clinton lawyer Michael Sussmann of trying to engineer an 'October surprise' when he sought out a top FBI official to discuss an allegation about Trump and Russia. The allegation didn't pan out, but the meeting itself constituted an effort to 'use and manipulate' federal law enforcement for political ends, prosecutors argued. Sussmann's defense team argued he was forthright when he acted on his own to bring information to authorities, and said the intervention did not benefit the Clinton camp in any way.

A U.S. civil rights official has warned two colleges that their segregated graduation ceremonies for Black, LGBTQ and other minority students are illegal under federal anti-discrimination laws. Attorney Peter Kirsanow, a Black member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, admonished California Polytechnic State University and Oakton Community College in Illinois that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 bars them as government-funded schools from offering programs that exclude White, male students. In two separate letters shared with The Washington Times, he cites the act’s Title VI provision that “no person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation

No one can speak of evil without mentioning its attraction to the Democrat Party, which is now the party of official racism in America. Political evil is a contagion of psychological immaturity, self-delusion, and counterfeit justification, and its virus has spread throughout America's liberal ruling class. Its influence has scoured our nation of its fundamental values, and leftists are intent on creating a state apparatus that facilitates the separation of children from their parents, criminals from justice, and citizens from the Bill of Rights. This is a call to Marxist socialism that has no past and no possibility of a future.

The US Food and Drug Administration gave the green light Tuesday to a booster shot of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11. They caved to the left on “woman” and “mother,” and now Democrats are prepared to abandon a time-honored triumph of political branding: the word “choice” as a euphemism for “abortion.” Delivering the blow was no less an authority than the House Pro-Choice Caucus. In talking points posted last week by Politico, the caucus warned members that “choice” is now considered “harmful language” and should be replaced with “decision,” which is “helpful language.” The switch is already underway. House Democrats chanted “my body, my decision” as they crossed over Wednesday to the Senate for the failed vote on the Women’s Health Protection Act. Activists’ traditional chant was “my body,

It is a rare in-person visit from a president whose administration has overseen an explosion of violent crime. The Buffalo mass shooting is being labeled a “hate crime,” due in part to the racial motivation of an 18-year-old with a bizarre radicalized worldview that purportedly includes an authoritarian leftist past and white nationalist bent. Despite what the media, Democrats, leftists, and, of course, the permanent Washington bureaucracy say (over, and over, and over again), there is no imminent, large-scale threat from white nationalists. The recently revealed purchase of multi-million-dollar properties by Black Lives Matter leaders, using unaccounted-for tax-exempt funds, tells us what we already should have known: Black Lives Matter is a gang of street criminals who think nothing of stealing money donated to help “marginalized and under-served” communities, and pocketing it for themselves.
Because Black Lives Matter is a criminal organization responsible for violent mob actions in over 200 American cities in 2020, including the burning federal buildings and police stations, causing several billion dollars in property damage and sparking a national crime wave that resulted in 4,901 more homicides in 2020 than in the previous year, it is not surprising

Average gas prices in the U.S. reached a new record high Tuesday, according to AAA's gas price calculator.
The national average cost of a regular gallon of gasoline hit $4.523 early Tuesday morning. This topped Monday's record of $4.483, which in turn had beat Sunday's record of $4.470.
The price comes as the European Union edges toward oil sanctions on Russia amid the Kremlin's invasion of Ukraine. It also comes amid record-high inflation, with the consumer price index reaching 8.3% in April, hovering near March's 40-year high.

Democrats, battered with low approval ratings from voters over high inflation and soaring gasoline prices, are deflecting blame for the latest crisis: a massive baby formula shortage. Party leaders are blaming Abbott Nutrition for scarce baby formula after the Food and Drug Administration shuttered its Sturgis, Michigan, plant citing safety and quality issues. Abbott officials deny their formula is responsible for four infant illnesses that caused two deaths and said they are ready to reopen the plant. The FDA shuttered the plant in February after four infants became sick and Abbott issued a formula recall. On Monday, the Justice Department got involved.

Such was the case with Trump the younger when he weighed in on a hot-button topic recently, as reported by the Washington Post on Sunday.

While Senate Republicans and Democrats overwhelmingly voted to advance the legislation, many populist-leaning Republicans such as Sens. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Rand Paul (R-KY) have opposed the legislation.

In the span of one month, there were two mass shootings. Both took place in New York. Both were racially motivated. Both shooters were violent extremists. But the media tied only one of them to a mainstream political party. Can you guess why?
Immediately after the identity of the alleged Buffalo shooter – initially charged with one murder and suspected of killing 10 – became known, the chattering class was insisting that he was not a “lone wolf” and pinned the blame for the massacre on “right-wing extremists” who “control the Republican party.”

Ed mentioned the rout on the river near Bilohorivka in a post last week but you can’t appreciate the magnitude of it until you see it.
The Russian army was attempting to cross the river on pontoon bridges, crowding dozens of armored vehicles manned by hundreds of troops near the riverbank in anticipation. The Ukrainians attacked, destroying the pontoons and leaving the Russians trapped.
The result was a turkey shoot unlike any seen in war in many years. The Institute for the Study of War estimates that some 550 Russians from 74th Motorized Rifle Brigade were involved in the operation and that close to 500 of them were killed or wounded.
