Netflix is cutting about 150 jobs after announcing that it's lost 200,000 subscribers since the end of last year. Most of the employees being laid off are based in the US and work in creative positions across film and TV. The California-based streaming service is even eliminating some executive positions in its original content departments, sources told Deadline. A few director-level executives may also be on their way out. The news comes a month after the company reported that its global subscriber base declined in the first quarter of 2022. It expects to lose another two million subscribers by next quarter, Fortune reports.

hey Netflix, do you still think it was a brilliant idea to have comrade obama installed on your Board? with comrade obama, if you're not full on commie you're of no use to him, smarten up and unload the commie grifter as fast as you can before your company goes down the drain

Netflix is cutting out the little people who had little to do with their losses. Netflix should be cutting the executives who thought it was a great idea to pay people like the Obamas (price unknown but a lot $$$) and Harry/Megan (est $100 million) to produce liberal woke content. They threw out money to their woke influential friends who have produced nothing of note to date. Netflix has just become rerun central lately with little to no innovative new content. That said, I do enjoy the Ryan Reynolds produced/starred films even though the critics don't like them (who cares, they're fun!).

Let's see....our original content isn't selling at all....who should we fire. In most "woke" organizations, the person fired would be some white guy that had nothing to do with the original content.
This is amazing. They are firing " top original content executives". Are these the geniuses who thought that The Zero and Mooch would do a great job? Perhaps the same mental giants who thought that Dim Ginger Hank and the Red Duchess ("Off with their heads!") would sell a lot of subscriptions?
It sounds like they may be firing the right people. How cool is that. It's almost like......capitalism. When you fail you are unemployed. How novel.

Sounds like the state where I used to live. When the state had to cut the budget and get rid of some workers, they gave the impression they fired the big shots making all the money. I worked at a health unit, the lowest of the low, and that's where the cuts were. People would complain about how long a visit was to get the vouchers. I would tell them all the budget cuts you hear about are on the service personnel, not the big guys.

At $16+ per month, losing 200,000 users is a loss of revenue of about $40 million per year.
Cutting 150 workers who average $75k (estimate) per year will save about $12 million. Seems to me they've got more cutting to do

This is just the beginning of layoffs. The coming recession will see thousands of companies, both woke and unwoke, doing the same. Get ready for more unemployment relief checks and stimulus checks to keep the citizens dependent on government.

Never was a Netflix fan...but gave my grandchildren funds for them to subscribe ...from their homes...well...that's not happening now...I send them tapes of good movies and they are enjoying the original flicks without indoctrination and best of all...no commercials...

I had a subscription for years, but quickly cancelled once that evil child porn show was announced.
I'd already been thoroughly disgusted with Netflix for giving million$ to Obie-Won and the Wookie for something that even I knew would be a total BUST for them, financially. Now I am never going back. There are too many good options out there to Netflix.

But they will continue handing out millions to the Obamas and that English Prince to produce boring, unwatchable shows.
I tried watching the Obama program on National Parks but quit after 2 minutes because it was all about him.

Yeah, with all those content managers and execs, plus the diversity honchos and the woke mob driving your rancid content with the anti-American bias -- why, that's a splendid business plan, isn't it?
Add the Obama Moochers and the Markles leeches and other assorted menaces to the national culture, and it's a wonder your company hasn't finished circling the drain, I've never watched Netflix ever --- not interested ever. But I've seen how it has deteriorated and tanked as it gets more strident with its wokeness. May the market forces strike a direct blow to your heart. Greedy goons.

At long last some corporations are getting a clue, especially in the entertainment industry. They have deliberately and successfully alienated more than half the country with their woke, preachy, holier than thou approach to entertainment, arrogantly thinking that we would be persuaded to adopt their warped, clueless views of the world. Instead their stock crashed and they suddenly remembered that they report to shareholders who are not appreciative or amused by their blatant attempt to drive off paying customers. It may well be too late.
