For the last couple of weeks, my parish has had a woman speak after the mass ended pleading for support for a crisis pregnancy center. I recognized the speaker as the head of a pro-life local group that I had once joined years ago.
My first involvement was a peaceful protest in front of Rep. Susan Molinari's district office and her voting record did not sit well with this woman. When I heard her yell through a mega phone that G od would punish Molinari for supporting abortion, that ended my connection with this group.
Let me be very clear, I am forever pro-life.

Interesting the author justifies taking issue with the fact that God would take issue with the willful and knowledgeable destruction of what we know as Christians to be His created human life. Journalist.. is there anything they don't know? I know women with degrees want to absolve their sins like the rest of us (and they always do in print) but really Alicia... come on, you know it's a baby even when it is inconvenient to the professional gal like you.

I think the author has been misunderstood. She’s no abortion supporter but correctly, in my opinion, stated that it is not up to us to decide how God will judge the sins of another. She didn’t imply that God would be OK with the willful and knowledgable termination of a human life. Quite the contrary. Perhaps because I’ve followed the author’s writing for years I would tend to give her benefit of doubt.

There are things that are absolute Good and Evil in their own right. We not only have the right to judge their actions but even the SACRED DUTY to tell them that what they are doing or embarking on is BAD OR EVIL. The fact that we have a body of law regulating our own SECULAR life is a case in point. Christ when forgiving the sinner, always had the "Go and sin no more" sting in the tail.
But I do take the point that yelling, scare campaigns, raging against and maligning your opponents, etc does not do one's case much good, when there is an entire rational, logical, and evidenced armory available to engage anyone one bent on evil doing. The late Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen one of the great and successful Catholic Apologist on the modern Broadcast Media in the USA of the 50 and 60's prescribed 3 rules when engaging in such polemics: First: Love. Second: Love. Third: Love.

God will be the judge, and there will be no objections or defense at the great white throne of judgement.
Our responsibility is to shine the light into the darkness.
All it took for me to become pro-life was the movie Silent Scream in the 80s.
Now the information from the womb is so much more cogent.
But some people are spiritually or emotionally blinded to the truth.
I believe that some of these advocates are even demon possessed.

I believe we do know God’s thoughts on murdering the pre-born. It’s not judgmental, it’s not speculation. God’s word tells us, Thou shalt not kill. It’s fact. It is a sin because God tells us it is a sin. However, it is a sin that He will forgive if sincere repentance is shown. You must ask for God’s forgiveness but He does not withhold it if you ask with a sincere heart. There is hope for those who have committed any sin.
I, too, am bothered by people who scream their condemnation at women who consider abortion. While truth must be given to these women, it has to be done with compassion. But for the grace of God, go I, should be something we keep in the forefront of our minds when discussing any sin. We all have fallen short. The Bible says there is none righteous, no not one, but there is forgiveness if we ask.
The left comes unhinged when any mention is made of God because they reject His authority. They become rabid, vicious and profane banshees screeching it is their body, their right to decide what to do. I agree, but that decision should be made prior to sex. They have no right to end the life they created because it is an inconvenience. That ends when the baby is conceived. Females must take responsibility for their sexual decisions. They know what the possible outcome could be. Birth control is readily available to anyone who wants it. It is irresponsible to have unprotected sex and the life that possibly could be created is innocent and did not ask to be conceived. The country needs to focus more on the responsibility of women to prevent unwanted pregnancies because after conception there is a life that has been created that has a God given right to life.

As a Christian, I find it fascinating that Colon, presumably a Jew, so clearly agrees with Jesus' perspective ("Judge not, that ye be not judged" Mat 7:1), particularly since her Jewish forbears so vigorously judged Jesus.
Sometimes, however, since God has already revealed His own, perpetual judgement on some sins (e.g., the Ten Commandments), it is viable to assert that since God has already judged that murder is wrong, for example, that a person is only applying that judgement to, say, the dismemberment of a living baby, rather than actually judging the perpetrator.
The New Testament leaves little doubt that the ancient Jews would make this argument in their 'judgement' of Jesus alleged blasphemy, so it is a bit of a surprise to me that Colon, a Jew, would not be willing to support a similar argument regarding abortion (i.e., abortion, as a form of murder, is wrong, and God has already prejudged it accordingly).
Maybe she just hasn't thought it through...?

Boy, did anybody bother reading the entire article? The point is that the prolife movement needs to recognize that the pro abortion advocates are just plain 'evil'. They do not care about babies cause they have no heart. But we should be mindful that we judge not, lest thee be judged.

God will punish abortionists in the next world. But the unborn need our protection in this world. I agree with the author if the protestors also mean - you come and worship in my church, the way I do or you will go to hell. But righteous anger is permissible if genuine. That is what the First Amendment protects.

#9, Colon is Hispanic and a Catholic. I would add to #8, that men also need to be bear some of the responsibility for preventing unwanted pregnancies. And they should also have a say in what happens to the unborn child they help to create.
As to God, he’s pretty clear about abortion -
Thou shalt not murder.
Suffer the little children to come unto me.

#8,
The word 'kill' in that commandment is better translated as 'murder'. Many have claimed that the Bible is contradictory on this commandment when God states 'Thou shalt not kill' then commands Joshua to go out and... kill.
The Hebrew word there is a bit ambiguous but most believe the proper translation to be 'murder'. Murder would be defined as the taking of a human life for selfish gain. Self-defense is not murder. Accidents are not murder. Killing an unborn child for convenience most decidedly IS murder.

I don't even think God needs to be brought into the conversation. Women, whom I place on a pedestal as bringing life into the world then nurturing that life, who walk around wearing a "proud to abort my child" Tshirt and stabbing a doll are evil under any definition of humanity. Period. And as the Judge would say, that's all I have to say about that.

I have been reading Alicia Colon for decades. She used to write for the NY Sun, I believe. She is and has been a brilliant writer in particular on pro-life matters. The publication of the draft SCOTUS decision reminds me of the movie The Exorcist. Colon warns the pro-life movement that we are all dealing with a level of evil many of us cannot even fathom. Like Linda Blair's performance, these women who are holding vicious signs and doing a kind of street theatre performance portraying the most vile and evil acts against babies, are surely possessed by Satan. Their level of depravity is staggering. But their level of depravity cannot compete with Dr. Nathanson, the founder of NARAL who admits to performing 60,000 abortions. Yet, here is a man who thankfully saw the light, reversed his beliefs and became an effective pro-life vessel for God. I'm sure he has asked God's forgiveness many times since his conversion.
Not one of us knows what God's plan is for us. God has given us free will and yes, as humans we can judge right from wrong. But only God will make that final judgement for these women, Dr. Nathanson and each one of us.

Not everyone who believes in God wears their religion on their sleeve and screaming at someone over whatever issue about you're going to burn in Hell is offensive to some of us. Yes I know - abortion is offensive to everyone here but it has been practiced long before any of us were born. And yes, I know that in these modern times, there is no excuse to get pregnant with all the contraceptive options available other than by rape.

I am convinced that every woman...whether a mother or not...knows that life moved in her belly and that it was a human baby...so the discussion as to whether a woman...and yes the new justice who doesn't know what a woman is...is included has some soul searching to do....killing a baby in the mother's womb is a crime...for me...and I think the screeching demonstrators should examine their..."beware me thinks thou doth protest to much"...it reeks of protecting their conscience....

#9, Alicia Colon is Catholic, and writes for Jewish World Review.
There is always forgiveness that follows repentance, whether someone for convenience or through coercion felt they had to have a abortion.
My Faith tells me it is a sin; I consider it murder of an innocent life. This, while true murderers and other offenders are walking our streets, is an abomination.
Pray for God’s Almighty Hand to be restrained on our country and all those “practicing” Catholics who scorn God every day with their mandates and foolish talk..

Alicia Colon is a rare jewel! She has been in the trenches fighting for Life for years and, I too, remember her writing for the NY Sun when I was a subscriber to the actual paper. I can even remember her arguing with the late Alan Colmes! Also, I think she reads Lucianne as someone posts here under that name.
Ms. Colon doesn't need my defense but if you take time to read exactly what she says it can be translated into a simple statement of fact: No one knows how God will treat these sinners who destroy His creation inside a woman's body. Let's not speculate as to what Circle of Hell He will place them --- if at all --- because many of the nut jobs out there screaming & carrying on can always repent before dying, be saved because they are mentally diminished, devil possessed, etc. Let God do His own judging in His fashion!
Lastly --- no one --- EVER --- calmed down with someone screaming at them to "calm down"! And telling someone they are "lost souls forever" just doesn't sound like something Jesus would say. I believe this is Alicia's point.

For those who don't know, or for those who may have forgotten, God has already resolved the "sin issue" through His Son, Jesus Christ, in whose body ALL mankind's sins were judged on a Roman cross by God the Father. The only Judgements remaining for mankind in Heaven are for human good. Sin is not an issue in Heaven. It was already paid for at an exorbitant price.
Jesus said unto her, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live."

I agree with Alicia that screaming at abortion advocates they will burn in hell is not persuasive, and in fact adds fuel to the fire of the "pro-choice" argument. Anyone remember Operation Rescue in the 1970's? It was an organization that tried to physically prevent women from entering aborturaries and the optics were horrendous; IIRC that action precipitated the introduction of the concept that someone could be against abortion personally, yet support the choice of abortion for any woman. It was a game semantics.
The Left leveraged the American tradition of individual agency to take anti-abortion voices off the battlefield. If you are pro-choice, you must ask yourself what "choice" you are supporting and the answer is abortion. Therefore pro-choice equals pro-abortion. The word "choice" also refers to the woman's "choice" to have sex. Since the Supreme Court leak even the Left knows this connection has been made by the general public and are now using the phrase, "pro-decision" to refer specifically to abortion, another Marxist twisting of the language to fool those too afraid of the fight and seeking a "moral" middle ground which does not exist.
Eighteen years ago a group of Christians began a 40-day prayer vigil in front of the Planned Parenthood in College Station, Texas during the Lenten season of 2004. They also prayed there for 40 days before that year's November election. The organization "40 Days for Life" was born. They continued year after year and began organizing prayer vigils in front of abortion clinics across the country and across the world. Many of these vigils also have sonogram buses for interested women. They have found that 80% of abortion minded women change their minds when they see the sonogram. Planned Parenthood does not offer sonograms as part of their "women's health" services. Since 2004 over 100 arboretums have closed their doors, including the location in College Station - which is now the international headquarters for "40 Days".
Christians have also come together to form organizations that help men and women who participated in abortion to find healing and a path back to God. The two biggest are Silent No More and Rachel's Vineyard. We need to offer redemption to lost souls, not condemnation. As long as a sinner still has physical life, they can attain eternal life with a contrite heart. Praying publicly and giving witness to God's saving grace is more effective than screaming invectives of damnation.

The only females I know who got abortions were lazy, slutish, ftard demincraps.
Not one of them had been raped or was the victim of incest.
I say ABORT AWAY! Get an abortion every month if you like. They are thinning their own ranks and doing our work for us.they know it is evil and wrong and they try to gussy it up as a right or choice. Just like homosexuals try to pretty that word up by using the word gay.
Well, call it your right if you want. It's my right to own guns.
I don't expect sluttish Ftards to pay for my guns. They shouldn't expect me to pay for the killing their baby. Let's implement a competitive market for baby butchery. Run specials, have coupons, BOGO free.
You want it.
You pay for it.
Your slutish behaviour has killed more people than my guns.

One punishment for abortion occurs in the act itself: The mother does not get to meet her child. The person who aborts her child, the medical team that performs the abortion, and those who support so-called abortion rights all punish themselves and the rest of the world. The world does not get the benefit that the child could bring into the world. A potential for good has been lost. And we miss not just the things that child could have done. We miss having the child in our midst.
Those things alone are a punishment from Nature's God.

They are lazy, slutish, ftard demoncraps.
Every. Single. One.
I even know women who took their own daughters to abort their first grand child.
If that ain't evil, I don't know what is.
You will never, ever change their minds. Screaming and protesting will do no good.
God flooded the earth in Genesis. God destroyed Jericho and Sodom and Gomorrah. those people would not be turned and so, abortionists will not be turned. They are what they are. They have zero interest in anything but themselves. They are proud of their abortions and would do it again. And again. And again.

Few seem to understand "Judgement".
God gave the jews the ten comandments, and people were tried in the courts or by the authorities of the time, and if it appeared they had broken those laws, they were executed. This was not "Judgement".
Judgement is when someone takes it upon themselves to hate someone so much they need to justify destroying them. It is why "Damn you" was once so forbidden. That is God's judgement.
Decrying man's judgement is ridiculous. It is, in the ultimate scheme of things, useless and meaningless, but necessary for an orderly society. Cultures that break their own rules or the rules of God, don't last, because there is always someone else who will eventually, bring you to book.

I am not the least bit conflicted about what God’s view of abortion is. The pro-death faction of the Liberal Party have shown themselves not to be the sympathetic nurturers of women with unwanted pregnancies, but the purveyors of evil intentions, complete absence of the respect of life and utter filth. They appear satanic. I hope they don’t think they are intimidating or persuading people. We’re repulsed. Even the lowlife Democrat politicians have to be a bit concerned about this exposure. We’re nauseated.
