North Carolina State Sen. Chuck Edwards (R) unseated Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) in the state’s 11th congressional district primary. Dave Wasserman, the House editor of the Cook Political Report, reported that Cawthorn lost his renomination to state Sen. Edwards. Cawthorn faced increasing attacks from the left and establishment media outlets over many issues ... “I’ve really never seen the swamp launch such a coordinated attack against any individual in politics except for Donald Trump,” Cawthorn said in reaction to the attacks against him. Former Texas Gov. and Trump Energy Secretary Rick Perry endorsed Edwards during the 11th congressional district primary.

I don't know much about this one - just that I've seen some very negative and seemingly unsavory stuff going on with Cawthorn. Explainable or truly a witch hunt? Anybody got the short & to the point version? Who's Edwards, and who is the Dem for the election? If Cawthorn is dirty - why the fuss?

Cawthorn lost because the Republican Establishment didn’t like him airing the party members’ dirty laundry for all to see. I have no doubt that Republican leadership made sure this was a loss for Cawthorn…however they had to do it.

you can bet that if Sen Thom Tillis endorses a primary candidate over a Trump endorsed incumbent, the Tillis candidate is going to be a RINO. Then throw in ex Senator Burr's endorsement and thats 2 strikes against the MAGA candidate. Then throw in the RINO leadership of the NC General Assembly's support and you know for dayum sure why they want that establishment candidate over a Trumpster. Tillis and Burr are all in for the GOPe.

Cawthorn lost when things were brought up about issues dealing with him personally because he bucked the GOPe/RINO party and the RNC in general and the PACs and how they work. #2 nails it! When he ran his initial campaign, they crap they send out to get donations to "fund conservative candidates" proved to be only supporting the RINO candidates-- The charge Cawthorn made at that time, still holds true! We have LOST the Republican Party as it existed that we still believe is somehow "different" from the other parties. At the local level, this is still somewhat true. At the State and National level, the $$$$$ of big donors, and lobbying interests have TAKEN CONTROL. Don't fool yourself by going along with this charade any longer. When $40 BILLION DOLLARS is sent to Ukraine and only a VERY FEW "republican" Senators don't demand accountability for how many hands the graft goes through and the many hands out to get money, then it is a telling and condeminng sign that there really isn't much difference in the parties-- BOTH are willing to spend U.S. into oblivion. Cawthorn called them out and there is so much pressure to just "go along and play the game" and get rich off of the largesse of government.

I hate that I even have to write this article given my distaste for Dr. Mehmet Oz. It’s my opinion that Kathy Barnette has crossed a line in Pennsylvania, and we need to talk about it. Barnette, who is running for the GOP Senate nomination in the state, has been locked in a fierce battle with Oz and Dave McCormick, the latter of whom has moved into third place in most polls. Now, she’s letting it be known that she will not support any of the other Republicans if she loses the primary. This is a big red flag ...

Inflation rose again in April, continuing a climb that has pushed consumers to the brink and is threatening the economic expansion, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Wednesday. The consumer price index, a broad-based measure of prices for goods and services, increased 8.3% from a year ago, higher than the Dow Jones estimate for an 8.1% gain. Removing volatile food and energy prices, so-called core CPI still rose 6.2%, against expectations for a 6% gain. Inflation has been the single biggest threat to a recovery that began early in the pandemic and saw the economy in 2021 stage its biggest single-year growth level since 1984.

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, who President Biden nominated to the Supreme Court to become the first ever Black female justice, admitted Tuesday that she could not recall the basis for the infamous Dred Scott decision, which in 1857 said that a Black person whose ancestors had been slaves could not be an American citizen. The case came up during Jackson’s confirmation hearing on Tuesday, when she faced questioning from Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas. Cornyn brought up the concept of substantive due process, a legal doctrine utilized to expand the Constitution’s due process clause to protect various rights not enumerated in the Constitution.

Democrats are also considering legislation that would give the federal government more control over the supply and distribution of formula, particularly when shortages arise. The plan would require formula companies to report inventory to the Food and Drug Administration, which could then move supplies from one state to another to fill empty shelves.
