You might be a moron if . . . Part II

Original Article

No one likes to be called a moron, an imbecile or just plain stupid but if you're a conservative, as I am, you will eventually regard that appellation as a badge of honor for speaking the truth. In 2016, Hillary Clinton called me deplorable for daring to vote for Donald Trump and consequently that word's meaning has changed from a negative to a positive as it now means someone who disagrees with the left. I did not vote for Bill Clinton, Barack Obama or Joe Biden but when they won, I certainly didn't fall apart like the Hillary supporters after Donald Trump won in 2016.

Like Ms. Colon, I wear the Deplorables tag with pride. 45 tried his best to save America, but the entire DSIC (Deep State Industrial Complex) conspired against him. We also have the "51 Intelligence Experts" who vouched for Russian disinformation on Hunter's laptop, which has in fact turned out to be genuine. Meaning the Big Guy is the resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The Fubaring of America continues. FJB has opened up our borders to anyone who can pay the human traffickers their fee. We are totally f#$%ed.

FTA: “ So why is the NY Times reporting negative news about Democrat Biden?” Maybe the grand jury looking into huncher will make the laptop undeniable so they’re “getting ahead of it”? I wonder, why would they would admit it unless some undeniable source/evidence is coming. And don’t forget all the authority figures who wrote the letter expressing their “concern” that Trump was planning a military coup. You know, with the same military that tried to impeach him a few months earlier.

Outstanding essay by one of my favorite essayists. Read it and send it around. With the NYT suddenly affirming, seventeen months late, the authenticity of the laptop from hell it does seem that we're being prepared for the defenestration of Joe and the Ho. Both are literal lamebrains, total failures in myriad ways, and need to be retired immediately before they ruin the entire Democratic Party. That cannot be allowed to happen. Obama has ambitious plans to destroy the American middle class, and he would hate to see his party Whig out before they get their hoped for total power.

I have a lefty sister in law who is intelligent, informed and definitely not a moron. But she sent out an email to the entire family bragging about having voted early for Hellary. When I called her out on the Beast’s four decades of corruption she blew it off. All she cared about was that Hellary had lady parts and was a demonrat. I don’t know what word to use to describe someone like that.

Alicia, you’re a gem. You just forgot to mention that Hillary was also kicked off the Senate Watergate investigation for unethical and self-serving behavior.

Alicia is spot on, but she forgot to mention the Republicans of the swamp who passively and sometimes openly fought President Trump's agenda and sat on their thumbs while Democrats stole the Whitehouse from him. They are at least as culpable as Democrats and in some sense worse because they consistently betray the people who vote for them.

Why Diversity 17 replies

Our world in 2023 is filled with different cultures, and we are familiar with the individuals from these diverse nations. This is a wonderful connection and one of the reasons I loved growing up in Manhattan and being exposed to so many people from other countries. As a woman of color who had grown up in the 1950s, my exposure to what constituted American culture was exclusively White although at the time it wasn’t labeled as such. It also made no difference to me that the idea of diversity in culture was even necessary.

“To do a debate would be great. But that’s like saying pro wrestling is a show about athletic competition. … You have a responsibility to the public discourse, and you fail miserably,” - Jon Stewart to the hosts of CNN’s Crossfire, October 15, 2004. I was busy walking my dog several weeks ago, on my lunchtime Thursday break, preoccupied with the piece I was trying to write in my head. The phone rang and a frantic booker was on the line. Would I be able to get to New York tomorrow to do an interview with Jon Stewart on race? I literally laughed out loud.

No, I did not watch the Oscars. I did not see Will Smith slap host Chris Rock. I did not see any of the best and worst dresses on the red carpet. I get plenty of notifications from multiple sources clueing me in to comments on current events and I find that I just don't care about anything involving Hollywood celebrities. Which is quite a change from the years I spent as a young girl devouring every bit I could on the denizens of LaLa Land. My room was littered with movie magazines blazoned with photos of the gorgeous and handsome stars

It could be spring and the reappearance of leaves on bare trees and flowers blooming, but I think it’s really because I do not watch network news or read the New York Times, The Washington Report or The Drudge Report. I live in New York City, which has been christened pandemic ground zero, but I’m still alive even though I am at high risk of dying from Covid 19. What I do watch on Sundays is Mass from my local parish’s Facebook page, and a recent homily by my parish priest was what stirred this feeling of hope.

The Democrats are taking their stand on the coronavirus crisis in an untenable position. It is like building a defensive redoubt in a valley surrounded by hills in the hands of the enemy (like the French at Dien Bien Phu in 1955, as President Eisenhower warned them). Whether this is tactical stupidity by the president’s enemies or strategic genius by the president or — more likely — a bit of both, is not clear except to insiders. Readers will recall that the Democrats charged out of the gate on the issue of taking science seriously and reacting comprehensively; the president picked up the gauntlet

It looks like the next round of congressional battles over restarting the economy will involve Federal aid to cities and states. While Speaker Pelosi and the Senate Majority leader, Mitch McConnell, battle over money for the states, Mayor de Blasio is pleading for $7.4 billion. This is by no means the first time the Big Apple has asked for a Federal bailout. The fiscal collapse of 1975 is the occasion that most commonly comes to mind. It turns out, though, just over a century ago, a now-forgotten New York crisis ended up establishing a remarkable precedent in American finance

President Trump, in his White House coronavirus task force briefing Thursday, appeared to suggest that light and disinfectants might have the potential to treat the coronavirus — prompting a number of stories condemning the comments, others seeking to defend the president and a scathing tweet from presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. The comments even prompted a statement from Reckitt Benckiser Group, the makers of Lysol, warning against improper use of disinfectant products. "As a global leader in health and hygiene products, we must be clear that under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body (through injection, ingestion or any other route)," the company said

There is simply no other way to state this. Nearly everything we’ve been told about models, rates of infection, deaths, and recoveries was inaccurate. I’m not here to argue that it was malfeasance or ignorance — both are unacceptable. But the one thing that Governor Andrew Cuomo’s stunning announcement made clear on Thursday is that there are some pretty shocking — and what should be — reassuring truths. Cuomo announced that antibody testing in New York state, which only began four days previous, was already demonstrating that at minimum 13.9% of New Yorkers, had COVID-19 late stage antibodies.

CNN host Chris Cuomo recently complained about his job. "I don't like what I do," he said. It seems that Cuomo, out in public, gets some negative feedback: "I don't want some jackass, loser, fat-tire biker being able to pull over and get in my face and in my space and talk bulls--t to me. I don't want to hear it." Cuomo complained that as "a celebrity" he cannot "tell you to go to hell, to shut your mouth." ROME — Pope Francis has doubled down in his personal war on fossil fuels while condemning “extreme practices” such as fracking. It is time world leaders to “listen to science and institute a rapid and equitable transition to end the era of fossil fuel,” the pontiff urges in his message for the Feast of Creation, to be celebrated on September 1. It is “absurd to permit the continued exploration and expansion of fossil fuel infrastructures,” he insists. “Let us raise our voices to halt this injustice towards the poor and towards our children, who will bear the worst effects of climate change.” “The unrestrained burning of fossil fuels

A majority of priests of the Church of England want the church to offer same-sex weddings and allow premarital and gay sex, according to a major survey. The survey, conducted by the Times, found most Anglican priests think church teaching should be brought into line with public opinion on moral issues. Most priests support a change to allow gay couples to get married in church, with 53.4 percent in favor and 36.5 percent opposed, revealed the survey, which assessed responses from 1,200 active Anglican priests. The Church of England currently allows blessings for gay couples but only permits church weddings between a man and a woman.

As of this writing, Chicago has experienced more than 20,000 vehicle thefts, with nearly four months before the year ends. But worry not, my fellow Chicagoans, Mayor Brandon Johnson has a plan that is sure to solve the problem: He is suing two automakers, Kia and Hyundai,

On Monday, the ACLU’s Indiana branch filed a federal lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana on behalf of Richardson, demanding he be allowed to get transgender genital surgery while imprisoned. The lawsuit gives almost no biographical information about Richardson, aside from that he is an “adult transgender female prisoner confined in a male institution within the Indiana Department of Correction.”
