On Monday, US District Judge Tanya Chutkan set a March 4 start date for former President Donald Trump’s federal criminal trial on charges of conspiring to overturn the 2020 election. “The public has a right to a prompt and efficient resolution of this matter,” Chutkan said.... Most obviously, with Trump as the current leading contender for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, Americans deserve to know before they vote in the general election if a jury of his peers finds him innocent or guilty of having tried to end the lawful transition of power after the 2020 election.

Trump should switch to the Democrat Party, which would put an end to all of this nonsense…Not! But it would make things interesting.

First of all the public has a right to an honest, apolitical and unbiased judge. That has been made short shrift of in the person of this foreigner hack. Obama appointed judge is a nonstarter.

The "public" does not have the right to a speedy trial - - only the defendant does - - and he can waive it whenever he chooses.
Chutkin is grossly ignorant of the law - - but I don't think that surprises anyone.

This March 4 date just plays into Pres. Trump's campaign strategy.
Just think of the rallies each day leading up to Supper Tuesday where the MAGA folks get even MAGGIER as Trump reminds the country of judicial corruption and the need to clean out the Executive Branch and re-focus he Judiciary.

Show trial- a public trial where the guilt (or innocence) of the Defendant has already been predetermined.

Yeah. If the idea of the show trial is to railroad the innocent and steal another election, I guess it's a pretty good plan.

I hope that this posting isn’t an indication that the DNC paid trolls are being assigned to infest Lucianne. Note to “remember when”: can’t you find a Web site committed to blind obedience to the King of LLCs, Joe Biden.

No trial with Trump's peers will ever convict him in Washington DC.
He has no peers there.

No. 17, did you bother to read even the first sentence of the comments? Or did you just note the source and jump to assumptions? the whole point was to show the absurdity of the article.

Never mind the 8th grade level of BS writing. The amazing fact is that it took two grown men (I guess) to write this hogwash. I imaging they started off with one "reporter" sitting in the lap of his co-author in front of the computer monitor and then writes the first sentence and then they switch positions after each laboriously typed out sentence. Can just imagine the way they celebrate upon completion of their masterpiece in literature. What a couple of tools.

Totally ridiculous and disingenuous article. Arguments hold no water. Everyone knows that the real reason why this is "exactly the right trial date" is because it makes it difficult for Trump both to campaign and to defend himself against these multitudinous trumped-up charges. An honest judge would schedule the trial at a date that gives the defendant sufficient time to prepare not rush it through after the Biden DOJ sat on their hands for almost 3 years waiting for the time to file the charges that would make Trump's election the most difficult. And for what it's worth NY Daily News has an even more outrageous, one-sided article on the subject.
