Pope Francis Calls on Nations to ‘End
the Era of Fossil Fuel’

ROME — Pope Francis has doubled down in his personal war on fossil fuels while condemning “extreme practices” such as fracking. It is time world leaders to “listen to science and institute a rapid and equitable transition to end the era of fossil fuel,” the pontiff urges in his message for the Feast of Creation, to be celebrated on September 1. It is “absurd to permit the continued exploration and expansion of fossil fuel infrastructures,” he insists. “Let us raise our voices to halt this injustice towards the poor and towards our children, who will bear the worst effects of climate change.” “The unrestrained burning of fossil fuels

Well, with no kerosene to power his airplane the Pope could ask God for divine transporters like in Star Trek. His popemobile would need to be replaced by a buggy pulled by horses because popemobiles burn gasoline, diesel fuel or use electricity via copper wires, made using fossil fuels. The tires, made from petroleum. Even Noah's ark needed pitch, a fossil fuel, to keep from sinking. This global warming hoax has fooled millions and caused others, Al Gore for example, to get rich pushing this rubbish.

Holy Mother help us, he's wearing a stupid mask! What in the heck is this "Feast of Creation"? My liturgical calendar just as September 1st as a normal First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart. Has Pope Frank instituted a special "Feast" just for the climate change fanatics? I pray this is some made-up deal that is just being observed at the Vatican for this one day. We are to be wise stewards of Our Father's creation, we are not to worship it! Feast days are to celebrate the great works of God in the Salvation of Man; Christmas, Easter, the Ascension. Frank is really getting on my last nerve. However, on the bright side, I have a lot to offer up for the souls in Purgatory. AMDG

Here’s some advice. Stay in your lane and preach the gospel. Leave politics for politicians. One day you will stand before Almighty God and give account for what you have done on this earth as will the rest of us. However, you have the added responsibility of being a shepherd over your flock and what you say and do in that capacity will be judged. Wrapping yourself in political issues is not your job. Tending your flock is.

The first page of the Bible states God CREATED the Heavens and The Earth, day and night, the ocean, the animals and Adam and Eve. The Pope at the Feast of "CREATION" asking man to solve climate change indicates to me that he has no BELIEF in the power of GOD. When a Pope proclaims the power of GOD, but does not really BELIEVE in the power of GOD, that Pope needs to find another career.

I listen to his pronouncements about the church and totally ignore anything he says about anything else. The Bishop of Rome would have humanity, especially in developing nations, shoved back into the Dark Ages reliant on wood and animal dung for energy. But then hungry, ignorant, and desperate people are easier to manipulate, control, and even wield as a weapon against those you hate. I'd say historically the Catholic Church knows that lesson better than just about anyone.

It always baffles me when people of faith cry foul and take their ball and go home when they see sin in their church. Think you found a church without it? Or do you consider yourself "spiritual" and self-satisfied enough in your own ability to connect to God that you think you don't need the very rock upon which He explicitly built the means of our communion with Him as a body? Relationship with God is not simply a one-on-one thing; it's a family affair. He wants us all to come to him - together - in love. Besides . . . at least for the erstwhile Catholics among us, starving yourself of His presence in the Eucharist because Man sins is a funny way to teach one far-from-perfect man in a far-away place a lesson he will never even notice.

WSJ: Say, why are Chinese nationals trying

Ho hum, nothing to see here. Just another instance in which the country that Joe Biden dismissed as a “competitor” wants an up-close look at America’s military installations, even more up-close than afforded to China’s giant spy balloon — the one that Biden let cross over the US before finally shooting it down. According to the WSJ, however, their latest strategy is no one-off. As many as 100 instances or more of attempted intrusions by Chinese nationals have taken place “in recent years,” either by deceit or by stealth. While a handful of these are benign — Google Maps misdirections — others are far more worrisome: Chinese nationals, sometimes posing as tourists,

Americans are increasingly worried that the U.S. economy is on the verge of going belly up, and given the fact that prices are still up across the board, their worries may be justified. But when you combine those worries with their belief that President Joe Biden is too old to handle that or any other crisis, the president's 2024 re-election bid looks ugly. According to a new poll from the Wall Street Journal, that's exactly what Biden is up against, too. According to the poll, only 39 percent of Americans hold a favorable view of the president right now. 42 percent approve of how he's handling his job, while 57 percent disapprove.

We often hear Democrats try to smear Republicans as "Nazis," even though the core principle of Republicanism -- at least as I see it -- is individual rights, the value of the individual. That's not exactly a Nazi value. Indeed, in addition to being horrible human beings, Nazis were socialists, it's in the name ("National Socialism"), something the left likes to conveniently forget and argue away. However, on Saturday, there was a march of Neo-Nazi groups in Altamonte Springs, Florida. They called it a "Red Shirts" rally. Rep. Anna Eskamani (D-FL) posted a video of the march where participants chanted, "We are everywhere!" She, of course, called them "far-right."

Eventually, McCarthy secured the votes after making several concessions, and at that point, it was fair to wipe the slate clean. ABC's George Stephanopoulos appeared stunned Sunday by a 2024 election poll showing former President Trump and President Biden tied at 46% in a hypothetical rematch, calling the findings "kind of shocking" in light of Trump's mounting legal woes. During a segment on ABC's "This Week," Stephanopoulos brought up a Wall Street Journal poll released over the weekend showing support among Trump and Biden split directly down the middle at 46% support each if the 2024 presidential election were held today. "It is kind of shocking in a way, that despite all of the baggage that Donald Trump carries, he’s tied with Joe Biden right now," Stephanopoulos said.

One of the nation’s most influential medical organizations wrote an op-ed published in The Washington Post on Wednesday calling for abortion with no restrictions. In the op-ed, the American College of OBGYN (ACOG) and Society of Family Planning called for abortion on demand and claimed that abortion “saves lives.” This comes as Democrats continue to deny that they support abortion up until birth, despite evidence to the contrary. “It improves and saves lives, and it must be available without restrictions, without limitations, and without barriers — just as any other critical part of health care,” wrote ACOG interim chief executive Christopher Zahn

A federal appeals court in New Orleans ruled on Friday that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had overstepped its authority in their ruling that three doctors will be able to move forward with their lawsuit over the use of ivermectin off-label to treat COVID-19. Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, one of three doctors who initially filed the charges, trumpeted the ruling as a victory for not only the truth, but patient rights. “The FDA misled the public into thinking it has more authority than it does,” Dr. Bowden,(snip) “This decision confirms that the FDA is not your doctor and has no authority to tell doctors how to practice medicine.”

Green energy and the push to electrify everything have been in the news recently but for all the wrong reasons. Instead of the green energy nirvana politicians and green energy advocates have promised, economic and physical reality has begun to set in. Start with the economic realities. Wind turbine manufacturers like Siemens and General Electric have reported huge losses for the first half of this year, almost $5 billion for the former and $1 billion for the latter. Among other problems, turbine quality control has suffered, forcing manufacturers such as Siemens and Vestas to incur costly warranty repairs. In Europe, offshore wind output has been less than promised

Squatters have taken over a Wyoming city after some left millions of dollars worth of damage to a motel and others left 500lbs of feces in the downtown area. Casper, the second-largest city in the state, is home to 60,000 residents but now also has about 200 homeless people. Some have seized various properties that are empty or abandoned, including an abandoned Econo Lodge motel that hasn't operated since November. Casper Mayor Bruce Knell described the extent of destruction as akin to 'third-world-country stuff'.

A Texan real estate mogul allegedly made 'millions of dollars' by selling vast swathes of local farmland to a Chinese billionaire with close ties to Beijing. David Frankens, from Lufkin, East Texas, scored the 'deals of the century' when flipping the land at around twice its market value to Sun Guangxin, a former captain in the Chinese military, local realtors told DailyMail.com. The trades have sparked fury among ranchers in Val Verde County, where Sun bought more than 130,000 acres of farmland for an estimated $110million between 2016 and 2018.

A federal judge blocked a Tennessee district attorney from enforcing the state’s law shielding children from sexually explicit performances ahead of a “Pride” event after he was sued by the American Civil Liberties Union. The judge’s ruling comes after the ACLU filed a lawsuit this week against Blount County DA Ryan Desmond, who sent a letter to Blount County Pride saying that any explicit performances in front of children would not be allowed at a “Pride” event on September 2 just south of Knoxville. Video has emerged from “Pride” events across the country of explicit drag performances with children present and looking on.

President Joe Biden is a man of many houses but just one home, it seems. He made that clear Sunday when he told the press in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, he was not on vacation even as he enjoyed a sun, surf, and sand escape. The admission came after he went to Mass locally at St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church. “I have no home to go to,” lamented Biden, who lives at the White House weekdays and spends most weekends escaping to the delights of Delaware, where he has not one but two residences. (X) AP reports he went on to say the U.S. Secret Service has been doing work on his
