ROME — Pope Francis has doubled down in his personal war on fossil fuels while condemning “extreme practices” such as fracking. It is time world leaders to “listen to science and institute a rapid and equitable transition to end the era of fossil fuel,” the pontiff urges in his message for the Feast of Creation, to be celebrated on September 1.
It is “absurd to permit the continued exploration and expansion of fossil fuel infrastructures,” he insists. “Let us raise our voices to halt this injustice towards the poor and towards our children, who will bear the worst effects of climate change.”

The pope needs to stick to controlling the Catholic church that is inundated with pedophiles and stay out of politics. As a former practicing Catholic the hyprocracy of the church is what has driven so many away also.

Well, with no kerosene to power his airplane the Pope could ask God for divine transporters like in Star Trek. His popemobile would need to be replaced by a buggy pulled by horses because popemobiles burn gasoline, diesel fuel or use electricity via copper wires, made using fossil fuels. The tires, made from petroleum. Even Noah's ark needed pitch, a fossil fuel, to keep from sinking. This global warming hoax has fooled millions and caused others, Al Gore for example, to get rich pushing this rubbish.

Holy Mother help us, he's wearing a stupid mask! What in the heck is this "Feast of Creation"? My liturgical calendar just as September 1st as a normal First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart. Has Pope Frank instituted a special "Feast" just for the climate change fanatics? I pray this is some made-up deal that is just being observed at the Vatican for this one day. We are to be wise stewards of Our Father's creation, we are not to worship it! Feast days are to celebrate the great works of God in the Salvation of Man; Christmas, Easter, the Ascension. Frank is really getting on my last nerve. However, on the bright side, I have a lot to offer up for the souls in Purgatory.

Here’s some advice. Stay in your lane and preach the gospel. Leave politics for politicians. One day you will stand before Almighty God and give account for what you have done on this earth as will the rest of us. However, you have the added responsibility of being a shepherd over your flock and what you say and do in that capacity will be judged. Wrapping yourself in political issues is not your job. Tending your flock is.

The first page of the Bible states God CREATED the Heavens and The Earth, day and night, the ocean, the animals and Adam and Eve. The Pope at the Feast of "CREATION" asking man to solve climate change indicates to me that he has no BELIEF in the power of GOD. When a Pope proclaims the power of GOD, but does not really BELIEVE in the power of GOD, that Pope needs to find another career.

I've been a Catholic for 80 years, and this pope has made me consider leaving the church more than once. I listen to his pronouncements about the church and totally ignore anything he says about anything else. I also only donate to the upkeep of my local church, as funding the bishops is funding illegal aliens (i.e. refugees) and I feel the bishops are making enough money off of the cartels and homeland security.

The Bishop of Rome would have humanity, especially in developing nations, shoved back into the Dark Ages reliant on wood and animal dung for energy. But then hungry, ignorant, and desperate people are easier to manipulate, control, and even wield as a weapon against those you hate. I'd say historically the Catholic Church knows that lesson better than just about anyone.

It always baffles me when people of faith cry foul and take their ball and go home when they see sin in their church. Think you found a church without it? Or do you consider yourself "spiritual" and self-satisfied enough in your own ability to connect to God that you think you don't need the very rock upon which He explicitly built the means of our communion with Him as a body? Relationship with God is not simply a one-on-one thing; it's a family affair. He wants us all to come to him - together - in love.
Besides . . . at least for the erstwhile Catholics among us, starving yourself of His presence in the Eucharist because Man sins is a funny way to teach one far-from-perfect man in a far-away place a lesson he will never even notice.
