The death of Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick was a tragedy. But as it turns out, the facts originally reported about his death may not have been accurate. The initial story implied that he died from an attack by protesters at the Capitol, it was even reported that he was hit with a fire extinguisher. Apparently though, the facts as of this moment are not there to confirm that claim. Yet that has gone everywhere as “facts.” Indeed, according to ABC, they are reporting that Sicknick’s death may have been “driven by a medical condition.” According to sources familiar with the matter, authorities believe Sicknick’s death was driven by a medical condition.

Because a handful of demonstrators invaded (or, in some cases, were ushered into) the Capitol and some of them behaved badly? What do those people–not the hundreds of thousands who demonstrated peacefully, but the few who rioted–have to do with the Republican Party?

When people with experience of political corruption and repression warn Americans about danger signs in the current efforts to shut down dissidents, we should take note. The democratically elected leaders of 2 major Latin American countries are speaking up and warning Americans about the efforts to censor and repress skepticism about the legitimacy of an election. They are joined the leader of Russia’s opposition, the bête noire of Vladimir Putin, in whose pocket Donald Trump supposedly resides. President-elect Joe Biden plans to release nearly every available dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines when he takes office later this month rather than holding back millions of second doses, his transition team said Friday. The decision is meant to "ensure the Americans who need it most get it as soon as possible." (Snip) Outside of the White House, Dr. Leana Wen of George Washington University, was also apprehensive, noting that there is "an ethical consideration" since those who volunteered for the initial dose were reasonably expecting to receive the second in the proper amount of time. On Oct. 18, 2020, Twitter banned the account of Dr. Scott Atlas for defending President Donald Trump’s position on mask mandates. In his tweet, he cited scientific studies, and the tweet contained absolutely no false information. Also in October, Twitter banned the account of The New York Post for accurately reporting on a story about Hunter Biden’s laptop. Today we know these were just the first salvos in this evil company’s assault on American liberty. For all its talk about safety, community, and the health of discourse, we see today that Twitter acts in favor of one interest and one interest alone: its own,

Genuine rigorous testing of educational ideas is rare in America. Why? Because practical testing usually goes against what the professors want to do. Their impractical ideas don't perform well in the real world. For example, Operation Follow-Through was the biggest, most systematic testing in American education, continuing for ten years, 1967 to 1977. This research showed absolutely that common sense, often called Direct Instruction, works best. Quite simply, that's where a teacher teaches, and students learn. Honest educators would say, okay, that's what works best. Let's use it.Our educators said no such thing, which is shocking.

President-elect Joe Biden said on Twitter Saturday that President Trump is "not above the law," after the House announced it would be bringing articles of impeachment on Monday. "Our president is not above the law," Biden wrote. "Justice serves the people — it doesn’t protect the powerful." But the president-elect has stopped short of calling for Trump’s impeachment. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., called on the president to "immediately" resign. She said alternatively, Vice President Mike Pence could invoke the 25th Amendment, or else she promised the president would be impeached in the House.   CORRECTION*

The planning for Wednesday’s assault on the U. S. Capitol happened largely in plain view, with chatters in far-right forums explicitly discussing how to storm the building, handcuff lawmakers with zip ties, and disrupt the certification of Joe Biden’s election — in what they portrayed as responding to orders from President Trump. They went far beyond the widely reported, angry talk about thronging Washington that day. Trump supporters exchanged detailed, tactical advice about what to bring and what to do once they assembled at the Capitol to conduct ‘‘citizen’s arrests’’ of members of Congress. One poster said, ‘’[expletive]’’ zip ties. I’m bringing rope!’’

No one can point to any statement from President Trump calling upon his supporters to storm the Capitol, much less to stage a coup against the U.S. government, but it doesn’t matter anymore. The establishment media and the social media giants are insisting that he incited the attack on the Capitol and was trying to install himself as a dictator by means of a guy with a buffalo horn hat and some other dopes and wingnuts, and if you don’t believe it, you’re a racist, bigoted, MAGA-hat-wearing fascist who deserves to be silenced along with the president, and soon will be.

Joe Biden calls it “a good thing” and said the president was “an embarrassment,” which is pretty rich coming from The Big Guy. It’s also rich when you look back at the reaction by Democrats to President Trump four short years ago. Like four years ago, before he even took the oath, Democrats are still trying to “impeach 45!” And many boycotted his inauguration. So many Democrats boycotted his inauguration,

Unlike the first two years of the Obama administration, they will not be leaving their most radical legislation until midnight of Christmas Eve 2022. Bills such as the Equality Act and the PRO Act that have already passed the House will be rushed through the Senate. These bills alone will affect religious liberty and right-to-work legislation.
