Across New York State, medical providers in recent weeks had the same story: They had been forced to throw out precious vaccine doses because of difficulties finding patients who matched precisely with the state’s strict vaccination guidelines — and the steep penalties they would face had they made a mistake. On Saturday, state health officials responded to the outcry over discarded vaccines by again abruptly loosening guidelines as coronavirus cases continued to rise. Now, medical providers can administer the vaccine to any of their employees who interact with the public if there are extra doses in a vial and no

When you New Yorkers finally cant stand it anymore and bail out, please remember that you are refugees, not missionaries. We dont care how you did things in NY and we dont want to know. If you want to have an easier time, tell people you are from a state like Indiana or maybe Kentucky. And please stop commenting on how much cheaper things are here, including taxes. We dont think they're cheap.

A false perception of truck drivers' experiences and working conditions is fueling the ongoing truck-driver shortage, according to an expert. Tra Williams, CEO of FleetForce, a Florida-based truck-driving school, told Insider: "The problem is the perception that trucking is for people of low skill, low education, who are OK with low wages. All three are factually incorrect." In the US, there is a shortage of around 80,000 truck drivers, Chris Spear, president and CEO of the American Trucking Associations, recently told CNN. Insider previously reported that, like other workers across the US, truckers are leaving their jobs in search of

President Joe Biden on Monday urged Americans to get vaccinated or get their booster shots amid warnings about the spread of the Omicron variant–but insisted that the infectious new variant was not a cause for 'panic' and said no new restrictions were needed. 'We'll fight this variant with scientific and knowledgeable actions and speed, not chaos and confusion,' Biden said at the White House. But even amid the pressing nature of the new variant, Biden misstated the name of the variant. 'It's called the Omnicron,' he said, inserting an extra 'n'–an error his coronavirus advisor, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who was standing in the background, also committed.
