House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D., Ga.) indicated that the House may not send articles of impeachment against President Trump to the Senate during the first 100 days of Joe Biden’s presidency, in an interview on CNN.
Congressional Democrats have called for removing Trump from office after the president incited a mob of supporters to head to Capitol Hill on Wednesday, while Congress was in the midst of certifying the Electoral College results. The mob breached the Capitol and forced lawmakers to evacuate, and dozens of police officers were injured in the riots. One officer was killed, and one rioter was shot and killed by police.

What on earth is the point of sending them on the 101st day? Am I the one here not getting something?

Hey Clyburn, have you found that secret location you call your office? Or have you just forgotten where it is again?

There is nothing in the Constitution empowering the US Senate to hold an after the fact impeachment trial targeting a former President who is no longer in office and is a private citizen, in what amounts to an act of prior restraint to keep that former President from again running for office in the future., In trying to do that, the leftist and liberal Democrats, in a partisan move would be misusing the impeachment article in the Constitution, and are showing that they are scared to death that Trump may well be elected again, after Biden and Harris and their socialist political agenda does great damage to the USA. Those Congressional Democrats are essentially trying to tell the wimpy Republicans that they can’t again nominate Trump for President in 2024 if he chooses to run. Any wimpy Republicans now in the Congress who go along with the Democrats on that will probably never again make it through a Republican primary election as long as there are 75 million or more Trump supporters out there.

I do not get this. Trump will be gone. What would be the point of impeaching a presidnt that is gone?

It's all about stopping Trump from running again if he so chooses. That's all it is. By the way, Joe, China says go ahead and cash that check now. You, Hunter and the rest of the gang are now in the clear. Can't wait to work with you in the near future. By the way, America, you are screwed.

Very interesting. They already impeached him once before, but were not successful in getting a Senate vote to remove him. So they must think that impeaching him again even after he is gone can create some kind of ex post facto new law that will further restrict him in some way from running again.
Not according to the current version of the Constitution. But perhaps they think they can stack the Supreme Court with enough new wise Latinas who will let them retroactively convict him of something. Somebody ask John "Kangaroo" Roberts" if that can be made to look legit.

Wait, what...?! You think they'll follow the dictates of an old, dusty, archaic document they spend almost all of their time subverting...? They'll just think up new amendments anyway. Rules?! There are no rules...

ANOTHER impeachment is to distract you from legislation including, but not limited to; reparations, cancelling student loan debt, increasing the number of supreme court justices, inviting Puerto Rico to statehood, making Washington D.C. a state, identifying the Republican party as a hate group, denying your right to assemble, to own firearms, free speech and an increase in your federal tax requirements for a green new deal and a pay raise for all house and senatorial representatives so they can continue to do their most fantastic job of representing you.

Zachary Evans, the President did not incite any mob, let alone Pro-Trumpers! You might want to listen to his speech and then tell us where and when he incited the mob!!!

#1 - the point of the entire exercise is to add to the impeachment that the President can never run for public office again, as they are terrified he will run again in 2024, and they won’t be able to pull the same stunt again if he is running. That and to try and discredit POTUS in hopes that it will separate his base from him.
Problem is, it’s separating his base further from them.

Vowing to remove a former President from office months after he left the office strongly reminds me of prior zealots. A few centuries ago, it was fairly commonplace to dig up corpses of one's enemies so the bodies could be hung, drawn and quartered, dismembered, burned, etc. There is somenting deeply broken in such wretched partisans.

I'm not sure. I suspect that maybe the only thing these Democrat morons are capable of is impeachment. And they quite frankly not very good at that. Can you impeach a private citizen ? What are the consequences ? He's really really out of office ? After Trump they'll impeach Ronald Reagan and Abraham Lincoln ?
Sounds like a parody of "The Sixth Sense". I see stupid people. They don't know they're dumb.
