Experts express concern about Biden's plan
to release nearly all available vaccine doses

President-elect Joe Biden plans to release nearly every available dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines when he takes office later this month rather than holding back millions of second doses, his transition team said Friday. The decision is meant to "ensure the Americans who need it most get it as soon as possible." (Snip) Outside of the White House, Dr. Leana Wen of George Washington University, was also apprehensive, noting that there is "an ethical consideration" since those who volunteered for the initial dose were reasonably expecting to receive the second in the proper amount of time. Comments:

According to crazy, old Joe, the experts are always right. But he wants to clear out the warehouse of all vaccines for political points.

Of course it is. Considering the protocol that is supposed to be followed - two shots 21 days apart - his publicity stunt could leave many without the critically important (according to the manufacturers) second shot. There was a reason for holding back half of the shots. Rather simple math.

Simple. Biden's handlers realize that if they can eliminate the second dose, the "best" immunity you can get is about 50% (which in my book is no immunity). They'll also try to delay J&J's one-dose vaccine as well. That way, they can continue the pandemic indefinitely and excuse their continued encroachment and stealing of power and oppression and paint their opponents as evil for as long as they can. I used to joke about living in Orwells' 1984. I'm not anymore.

If all of the vaccine is released at once, there will not be enough for a second shot. Is this a ploy to be able to keep the country on lock-down and more under control?? What if one shot gives enough immunity and the Dems are screwed??

We are watching a farce. The "experts" were concerned by efforts Trump made in handling the virus from creation in a chinese lab and now the concerned marxist cabal are messing up the very rapid discovery and implementation of the vaccine. The left always talks a good game, and then plays the game like Venezuela, Cuba, and their ilk.

It boils down to science. Science says the best immunization comes from two shots ... that same science says half of our folks will be immunized by late fall. Go one dose, and all ours will be half immunized by late fall. Either way, half our population remains at risk. The downside to “Biden’s” plan is the rapid falloff of protection from just the first dose...leaving our population again vulnerable next winter, and still needing two rounds to regain immunity.

Does #4 know that “vaccination” takes not one, but two shots, given 21 days apart, to give the advertised 95% immunity. Thus it is ridiculous, when there is not a continuous stream of vaccine out of the pipeline, to not hold in reserve the second halves of the first patients’ vaccinations. It is not being wasted. Just held in a safe, very cold place.

President-elect Joe Biden has grown frustrated with the team in charge of plotting his coronavirus response, amid rising concerns that his administration will fall short of its promise of 100 million vaccinations in the first 100 days, according to people familiar with the conversations. Biden has expressed criticism on multiple occasions to groups of transition officials — including one confrontation where Biden conveyed to Covid coordinator Jeff Zients and his deputy, Natalie Quillian, that their team was underperforming. The tensions have surfaced as Biden's advisers plan a dramatic scale-up of vaccinations starting Jan. 20, when the incoming team inherits a troubled

Across New York State, medical providers in recent weeks had the same story: They had been forced to throw out precious vaccine doses because of difficulties finding patients who matched precisely with the state’s strict vaccination guidelines — and the steep penalties they would face had they made a mistake. On Saturday, state health officials responded to the outcry over discarded vaccines by again abruptly loosening guidelines as coronavirus cases continued to rise. Now, medical providers can administer the vaccine to any of their employees who interact with the public if there are extra doses in a vial and no

Hesitancy on the part of long-term-care-facility staffers to receive Covid-19 vaccinations is slowing the rollout of the shots to the nation’s nursing homes and assisted-living centers, CVS Health Corp. said Wednesday. Another factor driving lower-than-anticipated rollout numbers: Initial estimates by the facilities overstated the number of people living in them by about 20% to 30%, CVS said. During the pandemic, families have been reluctant to send relatives to nursing homes, which have been linked to more than 115,000 deaths. “Based on feedback from our field teams, we’ve encountered more vaccine hesitancy among staff when compared with residents,” a CVS spokesman
