Justin Thomas uses homophobic

Justin Thomas wishes he could get a mulligan. The PGA Tour star called himself a homophobic slur Saturday during the third round of the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, Hawaii. Thomas uttered the slur on the fourth hole after missing a 4-foot put for par, and he was caught on a Golf Channel microphone. The 27-year-old Thomas, who has won the PGA Championship and 13 PGA Tour events, was apologetic when he discovered his slur was caught on TV after his round. “There’s just no excuse. I’m an adult, I’m a grown man,” Thomas told the Golf Channel after his round. “There’s absolutely

The covertly amusing cover of Led Zeppelin's iconic fourth album had no printing, just a picture of al old man carrying a bundle of sticks on his back, illustrating a word no one is allowed to say unless one is of the very public LGBTQ persuasion, and just doesn't give a (ahem) hoot. Otherwise that word's not allowed to be spoken. And a bundle of sticks is a f--I say--just a bundle of sticks (Rappers' permission and no one else's to use the "n" word is similar.) What Justin Thomas called either himself or the ball after foozling a short putt is a new one for me, and I played professional golf myself since before JT was born. I have heard it all. I cannot imagine where he came up with that sobriquet, but players can get down on themselves, get verbally abusive against Ole Number One, call themselves a sackful of ... something. Let a sports psychologist figure it out. Or a head shrinker with an MD. Instead of calling myself a bad word, I tended to take it out on the putter when too many putts went awry, even though I knew it was completely my fault. It gave a certain amount of satisfaction to me to put a recalcitrant putter (or driver) across my knee and separate it into two pieces, like golf legend Lefty Stackhouse used to do. Just snap it in two. Feels better now.

"Gay" is a homosexual slur of a good family name. First name, middle name, last name. Plenty of people named Gay. It is horrific and inexcusable that many sexually-confused folk have stigmatized the family name "Gay" by associating it with disgusting, degrading, and disease-ridden homosexual behavior. Apparently their human rights campaign does not include the human right to one's good family name. If you can't leave a positive legacy yourself, do you have to ruin others' legacies as well?

I don't really care. Golf is a difficult game that when played, expands one's expletive laden vocabulary. Justin Thomas is a professional golfer who makes his living playing that game at it's highest level for huge amounts of money. Go to a tournament and watch these pros. They are machines. They make the difficult look easy, and they do it over and over again. I've played golf for about fifty years. If I make a good shot, it's makes my day. If the pros make a bad shot, it ruins their round that could cost them huge amounts of money.

Mbeubeuss is one of the biggest rubbish tips in Africa and Senegal’s largest open cemetery for murdered children. In the past three years, the bodies of 32 infants have been recovered from the site by the waste-pickers who work there. Looking at the high rate of infanticide in Senegal, it seems the main reasons for it are shame about pregnancy outside marriage and a loss of traditional support for young women. Religious conservatism, economic hardship and a lack of access to contraception and sex education in Senegal are leaving many women I talk to feeling isolated.
