One of the many bits of fallout from Wednesday’s riot was the decision by Twitter to permanently ban President Trump’s account, as Allahpundit covered yesterday. While Jack Dorsey’s outfit has deleted some of Trump’s tweets in the past, pasted warnings on others, and even temporarily suspended his account, this was the first time the ban hammer had been swung at a public official in such a forceful and permanent fashion. Their stated reason for doing so was, at best, debatable in terms of any rational justification. Yes, they have rules against promoting violence, but contrary to some of AP’s analysis,

Joe Biden is poised to launch a COVID-19 economic relief plan worth “trillions” of dollars, the president-elect announced Friday. The relief plan will target state and local governments as well as provide new support for people who have lost their jobs as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, he said. Biden’s original plan was for a bill under $1 trillion but he said on Friday that “economic research confirms that with conditions like the crisis today, especially with such low-interest rates, taking immediate action—even with deficit financing—is going to help the economy.” Biden, who plans to unveil details on Thursday,

Soul searching and lecturing following the election and Wednesday’s Capitol protests and riots have done nothing to tamp down GOP outrage. According to a new survey, a record high 71% of President Trump's supporters believe the country is headed toward civil war. What’s more, 40% of President-elect Joe Biden's supporters agree. Trump has done little to cool feelings, today tweeting that he plans to stay in the fight after leaving office. JAKARTA, Indonesia — A Sriwijaya Air passenger jet carrying 62 people lost contact with air traffic controllers on Saturday, minutes after taking off from Indonesia’s capital on a domestic flight, officials said. Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said Flight SJ182 was delayed for an hour before it took off at 2:36 p.m. The Boeing 737-500 disappeared from radar four minutes later, after the pilot contacted air traffic control to ascend to an altitude of 29,000 feet (8,839 meters), he said. The airline said in a statement that the plane was on an estimated 90-minute flight from Jakarta to Pontianak, the capital of West Kalimantan province on Indonesia’s Borneo island.

Did you ever wonder what it’s like to live in a one-party state? Well, wonder no more. You’re living in one. The major means of communication—in today’s terms that means social media—have now been taken over completely by the left. Not only has Donald Trump—still the president of the United States—been permanently banned from Twitter, its rapidly growing, open-to-all substitute Parler has almost simultaneously been de-platformed by Google. You can’t get their app for Android anymore. Apple threatens to be next, demanding Parler kowtow (by Saturday!) to Cupertino’s vision of what the world should be. I suppose that’s a social-justicey-politically-correct totalitarianism led by left-leaning… or so they want us to believe… tech billionaires.

In October, I tipped off the White House and publicly urged the FBI and Justice Department to investigate. Nothing was done. Not a single federal official objected. So, the Zuckerberg Heist will happen again and again in this farce of a constitutional republic. Free and fair elections in America are a pipe dream.

The most recent Gallup survey on media credibility found that the percentage of Americans who trust the Fourth Estate “a great deal” is 9 percent. Assuming that this abysmal showing doesn’t constitute some perverse source of pride in America’s newsrooms, an honest self-examination of their coverage concerning Wednesday’s mayhem on Capitol Hill would be a good way to begin rehabilitating their reputation. Their response to that utterly predictable event was both monolithic and moronic. That they are guilty of both charges can be validated by typing “insurrection” into Google and searching News. This word is used—fallaciously—in countless headlines about an event that didn’t remotely justify such a description.

Georgia will elect Republican senators if the state’s legislature “shuts the door on future election fraud,” Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA) told Breitbart News on Friday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with special guest host Matt Boyle. Hice said some Republican voters abstained from voting in Tuesday’s runoff U.S. Senate elections in Georgia due to distrust in election integrity. “It was a high turnout for a runoff election,” he remarked. “It was a significantly high turnout. Now there were some [Republican voters] who did not turn out, because of their lack of confidence that it was going to be a secure vote, and that has to be addressed.”

D.C. has spoken. It is fine to burn down businesses and threaten homeowners in the name of "racial justice," but you must never, ever question the results of a political election that takes most of a week to sort out before declaring a winner. Black Lives Matter and Antifa are reportedly sitting on billions of dollars in donations after causing billions of dollars in property damage in this last year. Americans who took part in "Stop the Steal" rallies at the Capitol will not find fat bank accounts awaiting them once D.C.'s wrath goes scorched earth on Trump-supporters.

My "hockey mom" wife had the best analysis of the Trump-supporters march on the Capitol. She observed that this is what happens when there are too many "no-calls" in a hockey game. Players can skate through the bad calls, but it's one no-call after another that leads to the gloves dropping. Games get out of hand when the players on the aggrieved team come to believe they have nothing to lose by retaliating because the rules aren't being enforced anyway. They've reached the breaking point. For the Trump-supporters, the last four years were a litany of "no-calls." I can't even begin to think of them all.

On Friday, although President Trump is still President of the United States, Twitter officially and permanently banned him from the site. The other media sites were not far behind. Indeed, they’re systematically banning anyone associated with Trump’s contention that there was election fraud. Moreover, they’re doing so by erasing Trump’s actual words in order to present him as a vicious agitator. Some Americans are ignorant of these facts because they have been misinformed by a media that willfully withholds information.
