Why not just round us all up now and haul us into the reeducation camps/gulags?

If they were busting down doors inside the Capitol, go ahead and fire them. If they were only at the peaceful protest, prepare yourselves for a massive lawsuit.

Unless it can be proven that they engaged in unlawful conduct, these teachers should become very wealthy from winning lawsuits for unlawful termination. They were engaging in peaceful protests and are protected by the US constitution.

So, the District is okay with bad teachers, bully teachers, teachers who molest their students, but boy you better not support the first decent America First president in our lifetime. Do I have that straight? Time to absolutely bust the Unions in Education. Their expiration date came and went decades ago. Now all they are are money laundering machines and handmaidens for the democrat party.

Since when is entering a public building let alone protesting outside of it a crime? The capitol has been the site of protests both inside and outside innumerable times over the years. It is open to thousands of people every day who conduct business, visit as tourists, or who just want to observe their government in action. People are losing all perspective on what actually happened July 6 thanks to the raging hate of Donald Trump and his supporters coming from the major media outlets. Calling even the worst actions, and yes there were some bad and likely illegal excesses an "insurrection" is simply stupid or deranged. It was a protest like thousands of others that have ocurred over the years and a mostly overwhelmingly peaceful one. The system not only survives such shows of political rancor all the time and indeed thrives on them because that is what happens in a Democracy. If you want to criminalize all such behavior then you are the problem not the solution.

Once again the taxpayers of Jefferson County, WV will be on the hook for the payout this lawsuit will bring. Easier and cheaper just to fire the Superintendent and School Board Members who signed on to this attempt to cancel the teachers 1st Amendment rights.

Suggesting lawsuits assumes the legal system has the balls to respect the law. Remind of when that's been the case recently, at any level of the legal system.

The superintendent is setting herself up for a wrongful termination lawsuit, which will be very expensive. I don't think political activism is what parents had in mind when they send their kids to school.

My husband, a local volunteer on a city board, along with a friend who is on our city council are going through this as well. It is a national drive, completely orchestrated, IMO, by Obama, to rid all govt. of conservatives. It will not work. All they did was sign a letter to our congressmen and senator asking them to support Trump and to look into voter fraud. Part of tne letter quoted the Declaration of Independence: we pledge our lives, our fortune, our sacred honor... This, the leftie scum are interpreting as violent. They also falsely claim we hired a bus to go to DC. No. We simply sent links for people to find one. Even if we did it would be our right as free Americans. Our country is so screwed if this craziness is not stopped.

West Virginia does not have a collective bargaining law covering public employees. If WV did, the teachers would have the right to arbitration. I'm not sure how tenure applies there, but in most cases tenure has a morals clause. Breaking in to the Capitol would put them at great risk of losing tenure.

How much money does it take for you to sell out your country? How come the average American who protests the fraudulent results of the election are traitors and seditious but Biden selling influence using his son is just fine - the Republicans don't protest or even question this behavior. It is probably because they all do it. We need term limits and harsh punishment for elected officials who enrich themselves and their families while in government service. The legislators know in advance where money will be allocated and then place their family members in positions in non-profits and foundations in order to funnel the money to themselves and their friends. These schemes should be illegal - if you are in government service, then no family member or associate ( including your private foundations and non-profit organizations) should be eligible to receive federal or state grant funds. They should also be restricted from buying or selling stocks during their tenure.

Our sheriff, in Canadian County, OK, also attended as a private citizen. Some crazy liberal (yes, we have them in Oklahoma, too) started a petition to demand his resignation and sent it to our state attorney general. He is extremely popular with our county citizens and this absurd attempt will go nowhere.

People who do not comply with Covid-19 pandemic restrictions are mostly male, more extroverted and more likely to put their own self-interests above those of others, suggests a new study of behaviours internationally. University of Sydney researchers assessed behaviours and attitudes towards Covid regulations in 1,575 people in Australia, Canada, the UK, and the US between April and May last year, during the first wave of the pandemic. Their study, published in the journal Plos One, found that about 10% of people reported being non-compliant with restrictions. These ind

Vice President Kamala Harris has another big trip ahead – but it won’t be a return visit to the U.S.-Mexico border. Instead, Harris next month will travel across the Pacific, to Vietnam and Singapore, amid U.S. tensions with China. Her goal is to “strengthen relationships and expand economic support,” chief spokeswoman Symone Sanders said in a statement. Harris will be the first sitting vice president to visit Vietnam. The trip is also an effort to rally support against China’s growing economic ascendency, according to Reuters.

Thanks to a reworked menu and long hours, Jeannie Kim managed to keep her San Francisco restaurant alive during the coronavirus pandemic. That makes it all the more frustrating that she fears her breakfast-focused diner could be ruined within months by new rules that could make one of her top menu items — bacon — hard to get in California. “Our number one seller is bacon, eggs and hash browns,” said Kim, who for 15 years has run SAMS American Eatery on the city’s busy Market Street. “It could be devastating for us.” At the beginning of next year, California

A father of five, already hooked up to a bed in a Las Vegas hospital, texted his fiancée and expressed his regret over not getting the COVID-19 shot. “I should have gotten the damn vaccine,” Michael Freedy wrote. On Thursday, the 39-year-old, known by friends as “Big Mike” died of complications from coronavirus. He contracted the disease during a vacation in San Diego with his fiancée, Jessica du Preez, and their five children—ages 17, 10, 7, 6 and 17 months. Shortly after they returned from the trip earlier this month, Freedy developed a painful skin rash.

Perhaps CDC Director Rochelle Walensky has no sense of irony. We recently passed the 500th day to slow the spread, which, as we all know, started with 15 days to slow the spread in March of 2020. Now, Walensky is saying that if we all put on a face diaper and get the jab, we can defeat the Delta variant in a few weeks: “We can halt the chain of transmission,” Walensky told “CBS This Morning” on Wednesday. “We can do something if we unify together, if we get people vaccinated who are not yet vaccinated, if we mask in the interim, we can

Provo, Utah–As Mindy Greene spent another day in the COVID intensive care unit, listening to the whirring machines that now breathed for her 42-year-old husband, Russ, she opened her phone and tapped out a message. So I made the decision and prayed about it and got the impression that we would be ok." They were not. You’d be forgiven for forgetting they existed, but the fugitive Texas Democrats, who fled their state to stop the passage of a mundane voting integrity bill, are still hanging out in Washington, DC. Where exactly, I’m not sure, but I like to imagine them sleeping on cots and eating ramen noodles every night while they mutter obscenities about Gov. Greg Abbott to each other. That’s when they aren’t spreading COVID to everyone, of course. There was a sighting a few days ago in which some of them appeared with Al Sharpton at the MLK memorial. You know, because nothing stirs support in Texas like latching onto a notorious, big-city race grifter

Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) joined Jay Thomas on “The Jay Thomas Show” on Tuesday and took questions from local callers. During their conversation Senator Cramer was asked by a caller about Ashli Babbitt and her killer Lt. Mike Byrd. Senator Cramer refused to identify the killer but said he was grateful for the officer’s action. Senator Cramer then lied and said Ashli Babbitt was warned by police before she was shot in an ambush. This is a bald-faced lie. The officer hid in the shadows, did not utter a word, and then shot Ashli Babbitt in the neck as she climbed through a window. She was unarmed and was not a threat.
