Two on-duty Oakdale plainclothes police officers were told to “put their guns in the car” before they would be allowed to have lunch at Texas Roadhouse in Woodbury on Friday, according to an officer in the department who spoke to Alpha News about the incident involving his colleagues.
He said the officers were first told by the hostess they were “not allowed to have weapons in the restaurant.” (snip) ”A spokesperson with Texas Roadhouse told Alpha News the 17-year-old hostess had just completed “active aggressor training” and that she “didn’t see a badge.” “She was freaked out seeing a gun,” Travis Doster said.

They need to change the establishment's name to Minnesota Road House.

TEXAS. One of the states where the west was won. Because good guys had guns too. I’ll never go there again.

This 17-year-old snowflake had never seen a guy with a gun? Previous poster had it right: pull their franchise and rename the place “Minnesota Snowflake Roadhouse.”

How about renaming this to "Wimpy Woke Veggie Stop". It sure isn't about Texas.
And, AFAIK, it is not permitted for officers to leave their sidearms when they are on duty.

Hope they didn't listen to her. If police are on duty, their weapons stay with them. They are exempt from these sensitive places laws when on duty.
Hope they sue Texas Roadhouse.

Easy solution, no police eat there. Ever again. I’d be afraid the police would be setting themselves up to get shot. Police car in front of diner, bad guys know they’re eating there, unarmed. No way.

A waste of money on legal expenses to sue. We just need to Bud Light them. They'll beg for our business to come back.

Woke lie-berals have to be the stupidest people on earth!!!!! Nothing kills business faster than putting lie-berals in charge of it!!!!!
If they want to survive this disaster, one hostess and one manager need to be fired immediately. And new policies for "police officers eat free" need to go into effect!!!!

The safest lunch I ever had was talking to a client about expanding his Mexican restaurant in Florence, Az. They have a huge Federal Penitentiary there and the dining room was filled with guards packing sidearms. Everyone was very polite.

IF that were the case...and she thought the two were Evil Killers bent upon endangering an innocent populace with their malevolent machines of mass murder? She would have been waaaaay toooo scared to try to throw them out.
The Truth can ONLY be...that she knew confronting them and evicting them wasn't a risk, because as Cops they would not harm her.
The only Active Aggressor...was her.
I hope they don't fire her, and instead move her from the public contact Hostess position, to a dirty dish sink in the back.

Minn has to use Texas to get people to eat in a diner? Weird. The girl is just reflecting the 'training' smooth brains get from TV, schools and government. A teachable moment for the officers, the girl and the training of the fake Texas diner.

So she sees a gun and her first response, to someone she supposedly thinks is an armed crazy, is to tell the person to take the gun back to his car. "Now you just git outta here with that firearm. Git I tell ya!" Horse hockey.

I hope it was just an idiot manager locally, and not company policy. I go to TR frequently and love it, and am always armed. We are a constitutional carry state. Half the people there are probably armed. But then, our waitresses arent cowards.

Use the website contact form to let the company you are dissatisfied, demand a corporate apology, and insist they take action against the manager who violated state law. Be polite but insistent.
Until that happens avoid Texas Roadhouse. Bud light sent a message to corporations. More need to get the message

Once the word about this incident very few law enforcement officers across the country will be patronizing the Texas Road House Restaurant in the future, that is a very safe bet.

Listening to a 17-year-old is not a smart move. They could have closed the place down for interference in police work. But look where this happened.

Important to make a distinction between a locally owned and operated business and a company owned and operated business. It could be a mistake by local owner's staff vs. a company employee. No a good look for 2A supporters to punish the wrong miscreant.

Was the proper signage posted outside the restaurant about restricting fire arms?
That was not mentioned in the article.
