I don’t know which is more discouraging: that the Mayor of Chicago actually tried this verbal flim-flammery or that the assembled media at his press conference didn’t erupt in laughter at his attempt to blackwash rampaging looters. He thought he could get away with it, and so far as one can see, he did. Watch this Grabien video, where Mayor Brandon Johnson says: "Johnson: “That’s not appropriate. We’re not talking about mob actions, I didn’t say that — hold on a second, okay. Respectfully, these large gatherings —“
Reporter: “That caused damage.”
Johnson: “— these large gatherings —just hold on a second, y’all. I promise you, we have time to talk.

So I guess we are never going to have that "honest conversation" about race, are we? Because "some people" just can't bring themselves to admit that "large gatherings" of their people that loot and vandalize businesses are in fact a mob.

No, Mayor Johnson. A Trump rally is a “large gathering.” 400 black yoots looting a store is a “mob.” And stop saying “y’all” like you grew up in Georgia.

MOB, noun [from Latin mobilis, movable, variable.]
1. A crowd or promiscuous multitude of people, rude, tumultuous and disorderly.
2. A disorderly assembly.
Had every Athenian citizen been a Socrates, every Athenian assembly would still have been a mob
3. A huddled dress.
MOB, verb transitive To attack in a disorderly crowd; to harass tumultuously.
1. To wrap up in a cowl or vail.

If only we could back to the good old days of Lori Lightfoot when at least a mob was called mob. Better yet, back to Mator Daly days when crime was under control and mobs were met with force.

But the mayor opened a critical window into the Leftist mind which shows us the mechanism by which they manipulate reality: when the truth is inconvenient, they simply call it by another name.

rampaging rioting looting mob = large gathering
demonstrators protesting glaring violations of Presidential election laws = deadly rioting mob of insurrectionists ("deadly" only to the protestors).

The entire clip of Johnson's comments was played on local news. He said he didn't think "children" should be compared to Al Capone. He apparently didn't know the difference between calling it a "mob action" and "The Mob" as in old time Gangsters.
There are way too many stupid people in politics. They are in need of crash courses in General Knowledge and Common Sense.

In reality it was an uncivilized inner city Black ghetto mob that trashed that 7-11 store. That Mayor won’t admit to that because he is a big admirer of the problem, as that problem elected him. By electing such a person the voters of Chicago showed just how stupid they really are.

I saw that clip of the mayor's presser and was appalled at his arrogance and how he lectured the naughty reporters who had the temerity to call the "children" a mob.

If you can get away from the big cities do it. Run don't walk to the nearest exit. As long as the powers that be (the stupid voted them into office) make excuses and will not hold these animals to account there is no hope. They will become like "Escape from NY). They are feral with no morals, no sense of right or wrong. And these beliefs are reinforced by the government. I see it, I want it, I take it, it's now mine. What the hell is happening to us?

More worried about words than crime. Kiss Chicago good-bye. It's a giant crime ridden outhouse, with politicians so concerned about political correctness rather than the welfare of its law abiding populace.

It was clearly a mob. And this is further proof that Chicago is, as the OP says, just ,i.gone. I was happy about 8 or 9 years ago when something came up and we couldn't attend a friend's daughter's wedding in Chicago. My CCW permit isn't valid in Illinois, and Chicago is a place to not go unless armed and alert.
The daughter and her husband live and work in downtown Chicago, something that I just cannot grasp as a sensible life choice. But, they are free to make their own choices.
Places where violent mobs run rampant without significant pushback from the "authorities" is too deep in anarchy to stay, or go if you aren't already there.

Yeh, we know.
CHICAGO is a large gathering. It's not a city, yet.
SanFran and NYC are cities with LA hot on their tail.
If you are in any of the above get out while you can still sell your house.

The words "lynch mob" are not uncomfortable ones to the black psyche. But a "mob of thieves" is too much to bear because they are....black?
