Chicago’s Mayor Johnson scolds reporter
for calling mass looters a ‘mob,’

I don’t know which is more discouraging: that the Mayor of Chicago actually tried this verbal flim-flammery or that the assembled media at his press conference didn’t erupt in laughter at his attempt to blackwash rampaging looters. He thought he could get away with it, and so far as one can see, he did. Watch this Grabien video, where Mayor Brandon Johnson says: "Johnson: “That’s not appropriate. We’re not talking about mob actions, I didn’t say that — hold on a second, okay. Respectfully, these large gatherings —“ Reporter: “That caused damage.” Johnson: “— these large gatherings —just hold on a second, y’all. I promise you, we have time to talk.

Comments:

Chicago is gone. Get out while you can. Stupid voters ruined it. They have elected idiots to govern them.

So I guess we are never going to have that "honest conversation" about race, are we? Because "some people" just can't bring themselves to admit that "large gatherings" of their people that loot and vandalize businesses are in fact a mob.

MOB, noun [from Latin mobilis, movable, variable.] 1. A crowd or promiscuous multitude of people, rude, tumultuous and disorderly. 2. A disorderly assembly. Had every Athenian citizen been a Socrates, every Athenian assembly would still have been a mob 3. A huddled dress. MOB, verb transitive To attack in a disorderly crowd; to harass tumultuously. 1. To wrap up in a cowl or vail.

The entire clip of Johnson's comments was played on local news. He said he didn't think "children" should be compared to Al Capone. He apparently didn't know the difference between calling it a "mob action" and "The Mob" as in old time Gangsters. There are way too many stupid people in politics. In reality it was an uncivilized inner city Black ghetto mob that trashed that 7-11 store. That Mayor won’t admit to that because he is a big admirer of the problem, as that problem elected him. By electing such a person the voters of Chicago showed just how stupid they really are.

It was clearly a mob. And this is further proof that Chicago is, as the OP says, just ,i.gone. I was happy about 8 or 9 years ago when something came up and we couldn't attend a friend's daughter's wedding in Chicago. My CCW permit isn't valid in Illinois, and Chicago is a place to not go unless armed and alert. The daughter and her husband live and work in downtown Chicago, something that I just cannot grasp as a sensible life choice. But, they are free to make their own choices. Places where violent mobs run rampant without significant pushback from the "authorities" is too deep in anarchy to stay, or go if you aren't already there.
