A judge has thrown out one of the five charges brought by special counsel John Durham against Igor Danchenko, who is accused of lying to FBI agents about the anti-Trump Steele dossier.
District Judge Anthony Trenga dropped a charge related to the allegation that Danchenko lied to the FBI about speaking with Democratic operative and Clinton family ally Charles Dolan about the dossier.
The judge ruled in court on Friday, the fourth day of Danchenko’s trial, that the charge was too weak to send to the jury, Fox News reported.

The law at issue prohibits any person from transporting a gun with the serial number “altered, obliterated, or removed,” across state lines. It also prohibits them from possessing such a gun if it has ever been transported across state lines.
Serial numbers were first required by the federal Gun Control Act of 1968 to allow guns to be traced. They were adopted in an effort to prevent illegal gun sales.

You know things are bad when even the mainstream press is admitting that the latest inflation numbers “soared far above expectations last month” and that this is “wiping out pay gains.” But, according to President Joe Biden, Thursday’s report on inflation “shows some progress in the fight against higher prices.”
What progress? Inflation was up 8.2% in September, compared with the year before. And that’s on top of last September’s 6.2% increase.

In the 21 months since Biden took office, the Consumer Price Index has shot up 13.5%. That compares with 4% in the first 21 months of the Trump administration. (See the chart below.)

Queens is taking the largest share of migrants into emergency shelters set up by the city — fueling what the borough’s president on Thursday called a “powder keg” of crises and creating a “recipe for a social and economic disaster.”
Queens was housing 4,782 migrants, or 32% of the total 14,777 placed in emergency shelters as of Wednesday, according to data compiled by the Department of Homeless Services and obtained by The Post on Thursday.
That share is more than one-sixth greater than the 27.3% that Queens residents contribute to the city’s total population, according to 2020 census data.

Five people, including an off-duty police officer, were killed in a shooting in a residential neighborhood in Raleigh, North Carolina Thursday night, officials said.
The suspect, a male juvenile, was apprehended nearly five hours after the attack, the Raleigh Police Department said.
The shooting began on the Neuse River Greenway near Osprey Cove Drive and Bay Harbor Drive at 5 p.m., Mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin said. Police had “contained” the suspect in a residence in the area at 8 p.m. and placed the individual in custody almost two hours later.
“The problem with living under postmodernism,” Dean Hunter Baker commented, “is that everyone is constantly tending the narrative instead of doing something useful.”
It does seem that way, especially if you run in my circles.
But of course, plenty of people are doing something useful. The world is full of those whose diligent and largely unsung work makes the lights stay on, the grocery shelves fill with food, the toilets flush and even the Internet run. They have been ignored, denigrated and even subjected to a species of economic warfare for the last several decades, but suddenly people are starting to notice that they matter.
Denial is no longer possible: FBI headquarters not only pumped up the Russiagate scandal knowing none of the “evidence” held up, it then turned around to help deep-six actual evidence of Hunter Biden crimes that tainted now-President Joe ahead of the 2020 election.
The latest revelations come from special counsel John Durham’s prosecution of “Steele dossier” gofer Igor Danchenko. Specifically, disgraced FBI analyst Brian Auten testified that the FBI dangled $1 million for Christopher Steele to verify at least part of his package of allegations against Trump — all of which, we now know, came from Danchenko’s water-cooler gossip with pals in DC.
Never let a crisis go to waste, Rahm Emanuel once advised. Add to that this new axiom: Never let your emergency powers expire. As incompetent as Joe Biden might otherwise be, he’s proven adept at following both.

The Biden administration extended the Covid-19 pandemic’s status as a public health emergency for another 90 days, preserving measures such as expanded Medicaid and higher payments to hospitals.
The decision follows comments President Biden made in September describing the pandemic as over. Some Republican lawmakers said afterward that the administration should wind down its pandemic response and the emergency designation.
