As Americans, we looked with admiration upon Canadian truckers who would protest at risk of jail and freezing of their bank accounts for their right to be free from government dictates against their medical freedom. We look at the Ukrainians fighting for their very lives for their country, with their leader who stayed and asked for ammo rather than getting a ride out to safety for himself. Part of that is the men were told they have to stay, but they also realize they have to, that this is it or they no longer have a country.America has been a light of freedom for decades to people around the world.

The only people Kamala Harris has managed to bully lately have been members of her own staff. But an MSNBC analyst tried this morning to paint Harris as a tough prosecutor who intimidated Russian dictator Vladimir Putin with her remarks in Poland earlier this week.Appearing on The Cross Connection hosted by Tiffany Cross on Saturday, MSNBC analyst Errin Haines said: "Yet another piece of her lived experience that she really brings to this role as Vice President in this moment of crisis, and that is her role as prosecutor, right? This is somebody who is used to kind of taking on bad guys for a living.

New York—Walgreens and other retailers have swapped out the clear fridge and freezer doors at thousands of stores, instead adding opaque doors with iPad-like screens showing what’s inside. Some customers really, really aren’t into it. The screens, which were developed by the startup Cooler Screens, use a system of motion sensors and cameras to display what’s inside the doors—as well as product information, prices, deals and, most appealing to brands, paid advertisements.(Snip)“The digital cooler screens at Walgreens made me watch an ad before it allowed me to know which door held the frozen pizzas,” said someone on Twitter.

John Kerry, President Joe Biden’s White House climate czar, flies around the globe in a gas-guzzling jet warning refugees that the worst is yet to come if the world does not stop emitting carbon dioxide into the air. It is unclear how much he is paid or who is on his office’s staff — which is odd, because the United States taxpayer is footing the bill for his travel and salary. After the Boston Herald was told by the government to submit a Freedom of Information Act request to find out that information, Alaska Republican Senator Dan Sullivan is demanding answers.

ERBIL, Iraq (Reuters)—Iran‘s Revolutionary Guards claimed responsibility for a dozen ballistic missiles that struck Iraq's northern Kurdish regional capital of Erbil in the early hours of Sunday, Iran‘s state media reported, adding that the attack was against Israeli "strategic centres" in Erbil. The missiles targeted the U.S. consulate among other sites, according to the Kurdish regional government. The missile attack comes as talks to revive the 2015 Iran nuclear deal face the prospect of collapse after a last-minute Russian demand forced world powers to pause negotiations for an undetermined time despite having a largely completed text.

Russia has asked China for military equipment after running out of weapons during its sluggish invasion of Ukraine, US officials have claimed. Details on what types of weaponry were requested, and whether China has moved to supply Vladimir Putin's government have yet to emerge - but the request has sparked extreme concern among western governments. On Sunday night, the US was said to be preparing to warn its allies, amid some indications that China may be preparing to help Russia out, the Financial Times reported.

Tampa, Fla. — Tom Brady’s retirement lasted 40 days.
Brady said Sunday he’s returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his 23rd season in the NFL.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion announced his decision on Twitter and Instagram, saying he has “unfinished business.”
“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” Brady wrote. “That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa.”
Brady led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl title following the 2020 season and NFC South championship last season.

A Michigan county elections official and former township clerk was charged with ballot tampering related to the August 2020 primary election, according to state Attorney General Dana Nessel.
Kathy Funk, who was running in 2020 as a Democrat for reelection as Flint Township clerk, also was charged with misconduct in office, Nessel said. The charges, which are both felonies, each carry a maximum sentence of five years in prison upon conviction.
Nessel alleged that Funk purposely broke a seal on a container for ballots so that the votes couldn’t be totaled during an anticipated recount. She narrowly won reelection in the unofficial count, the attorney general’s office said.

Most people will need to get a fourth COVID-19 vaccine dose to be protected from the virus, the head of Pfizer said on Sunday.
“It is necessary for most” people, CEO Albert Bourla said during an interview on CBS’s “Face The Nation” when asked if Americans can expect to get annual COVID booster shots every fall. The regimen of two initial doses plus a booster is not able to protect against variants and wanes too quickly in strength, Bourla conceded—making additional shots inevitable. “Right now, the protection that you’re getting from the third [shot], it is good enough—actually quite good for hospitalizations and deaths—it’s not that good

President Biden’s $1.5 trillion government funding bill funnels millions of dollars in pork to vulnerable Democrats in November’s midterm elections while benefiting Republicans who helped secure its passage. Mr. Biden’s 2,741-page budget bill, which passed with bipartisan support last week, was the first in more than a decade to include earmarks. The discretionary spending measures were long banned under Republican control of Congress but returned last year under Democrats’ unified control of the House and the Senate.
Although Republicans also benefit from the budget’s allotments, some of the biggest winners from the inclusion of $8 billion in earmarks are Democrats facing tough reelection challenges. Sen. Raphael G. Warnock, for instance,

The story said, "when asked which of the price increases have caught their attention, many mentioned necessities like gas, milk, ground beef and bread — a notably different universe of products than the narrower set of items, like used cars and raw lumber, that were soaring in price last spring."

President Donald John Trump fixed the courts. The Supreme Court is now 6-3 conservative. This means we no longer have to rely on the chief justice's weathervane to protect the Constitution. The lower courts are better, and another round of appellate court appointments with a Republican Senate and Republican president should remove most of the remaining stain of the judiciary that Obama made.
Now to make good use of the Trumpian Court.
Republicans need to vet, recruit, and prepare for battle about 1,000 lawyers for service beginning January 20, 2025.
I am not saying we should take winning in 2024 for granted. Far from it. Republicans will need to battle for every ballot

As a youngster growing up in the 1960s, Putin was a typical Russian hooligan, living with his family in a communal apartment in what was then Leningrad. Several other families, including Putin’s, shared these living quarters, with no bath, often no hot water and a stinking toilet. To get to his apartment on the fifth floor, young Putin had to run up the flight of stairs, infested by hungry rats. Armed with a stick, Putin at first fended off the filthy creatures and ran away from them, before he eventually decided to observe their behavior.Putin spent hours studying these hordes of rats.

It was also Trump’s first visit to the Palmetto State since he lost the presidential election in 2020. Since leaving the White House, Trump has remained a powerful figure in the Republican Party.

White House national-security adviser Jake Sullivan said Russian president Vladimir Putin is “frustrated” by slow progress in the invasion of Ukraine, in interviews with multiple outlets on Sunday.
The comments came after a Russian missile strike on a Ukrainian military training base less than 15 miles from Poland, in which at least 35 people were killed.
Sullivan was also asked to respond on air on CNN to reports that an American journalist was killed while covering the conflict. (The reports were subsequently confirmed and the journalist identified as Brent Renaud, a 50-year-old documentary filmmaker who has worked for the New York Times, Vice, and numerous other outlets.)

An essay in the liberal publication that Fox News host Tucker Carlson previously described as a shameless corporate mouthpiece and a place for the ruling class to talk to itself warns that a nuclear war prompted by the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine could be really bad for the environment. To his credit, the author points out that a so-called no-fly zone over Ukraine (which many neocons and neolibs seem to be advocating) could be ruinous in that it could lead to a exchange of nuclear warheads

Remember when Kamala Harris tried to explain the Russia/Ukraine conflict in layman’s terms?
“Ukraine is a country in Europe,” she said. “It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine, so basically, that’s wrong.”
It was hard to wrap our heads around why she gave such an airheaded explanation. I speculated that Kamala, despite being the vice president, doesn’t have the slightest idea why Russia invaded Ukraine. Could I have been wrong? Perhaps; maybe she just assumed that her audience was a bunch of four-year-olds.
But now the jig is up.

We must mourn the death of leadership in America.
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy cautiously but brilliantly managed the United States — nay, the world — through the Cuban Missile Crisis on the brink of a nuclear World War III. Watching Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine, I felt compelled to watch again the movie Thirteen Days bringing these moments to life. Every American should re-watch.
If your writer may offer my over-simplified distillation, it is this: JFK and his brain trust rejected the choice between Option A, surrender to a missile platform in Cuba and Option B, provoking a nuclear war.

Honorable Mention: Whatever she said, but especially how she said it, in this promotional NASA video. Hilariously awful!#6: “Ok – **giggle, giggle** – A friend in need is a friend indeed.”
PF: While in Poland on Thursday, Harris broke into that strange cackle of hers while discussing Ukrainian refugees. There’s a time and place for virtually everything, including laughter; but VP Harris clearly has difficulty determining such moments.

There’s a dawning realization among Democrats that the constant infighting between progressives and moderates isn’t doing them any favors with voters. In an effort to forge some kind of unity, Dems spent the end of the week at a retreat in Philadelphia trying to come up with an approach that both sides could agree on.
Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, chair of the DCCC, said the key was for Democrats to talk like real people and not “sound like a jerk.” That was a not-so-veiled request for progressives to stow their far left agenda between now and November.

Once again, HBO host Bill Maher stands in a curious spot — in opposition to his own team.
During Real Time’s March 11th installment, the longtime Democrat brought up Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill.
Critics have had lots to say…or maybe just one thing:
But the Donkey Party’s characterization of the measure is of the mythomaniacal sort.
As indicated by ABC News, the bill orders that lessons on sexual identity or sexual preference “may not occur in kindergarten through grade three or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”

It’s a weird feeling, watching the globe-wide death of reason and the herdlike behavior of virtue-signaling nincompoops. There’s so much of this it’s hard to know where to begin. This is not intended to be a complete list, which would take too many pages, just an illustration of what I mean.(snip) Suddenly, as the preposterous mandates supposedly designed to stop the spread of the Wuhan virus begin to lift, the herd, bereft at the widespread mask-dumping, seems to have latched onto the Russian invasion of Ukraine to prove to us how moral they are.

"Number one, no more subsidies for fossil fuel industry. No more drilling on federal lands. No more drilling, including offshore. No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill, period, ends, number one." (Candidate Joe Biden, Democratic Presidential debates, March 15, 2020.)
Well, whatever else we might say about Biden, we can’t say he fudged on that campaign pledge. One consequential calamity stares us in the face every time we pump gas.
One calamity Greenies often trumpet in support of Biden’s Green New Deal is the BP oil spill off the Louisiana coast in April, 2010. For those who only remember the hysterical headlines of the time,

Mr. Elon Musk, it looks like America and one of her astronauts aboard the International Space Station might need you. You know, the place where your space capsules have gone to a number of times, and have allowed the United States to not depend on the Russians for a lift up and back home.
Yeah, that place.
In what can only be described as living proof that a mess on Earth can leak into space, it seems that the Putin World Tour of ticking off everyone on the ground (except China, Iran, North Korea, and Belarus) has made its way into the heavens.
Approximately 254 miles up, anyway.

Joe Biden has said that he’s doing everything he can to work on the issue of rising gas prices. At the same time, he’s also said there wasn’t much he can do, and has blamed it on Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Biden tried to blame it on oil companies, too, claiming they have permits but aren’t drilling enough. Talk about completely not taking the blame or the responsibility for anything.
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) – the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee chair – busted those lies, saying there’s a lot that can be done — starting with getting stalled pipeline permits approved.

The former U.S. ambassador to Russia has apologized for falsely suggesting that Adolf Hitler 'didn't kill ethnic Germans' during the Holocaust as he condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine in a video MSNBC later took down following controversy over the statement. Michael McFaul, who served as ambassador between 2012 to 2014, drew criticism on Friday night when he echoed the words he heard from a Russian journalist criticizing President Vladimir Putin. 'One difference between Putin and Hitler is that Hitler didn't kill ethnic Germans, German-speaking people,' McFaul said on The Rachel Maddow Show.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.— South Carolina Congressman Tom Rice is responding to a comment former President Donald Trump made during a rally in Florence Saturday night."Unfortunately for the patriots of South Carolina, you currently have two atrocious rhinos," Trump said during the 'Save America' rally near the Florence Regional Airport, before mentioning Congressman Rice and Nancy Mace.(Video) "They're bad people in the house who went to Washington, sold you out, and partnered with the democrats to stab the republican part, and frankly, to stab our country in the back," he said. Right here in the 7th Congressional District, Tom Rice, a disaster. He's respected by no one,

This week Obama economic adviser Steve Rattner said that Biden shouldn’t be blaming Russia invading Ukraine for inflation. He said Biden owns this. Now another Obama economic adviser, Larry Summers, is blaming Biden for inflation.Biden used to work with these men in the Obama White House. Bloomberg News reports: Summers Faults Biden for Tying Inflation to Putin, Company Greed. Former Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers criticized the Biden administration’s emphasis on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and on price gouging by companies in ascribing causes for the surge in U.S. inflation.

Vladimir Putin is suffering from a brain disorder caused by dementia, Parkinson’s disease or ‘roid rage’ resulting from steroid treatment for cancer, intelligence sources have claimed.Citing sources close to the Kremlin, senior figures in the Five Eyes intelligence alliance – comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States – believe there is a physiological explanation for the Russian president’s globally reviled decision to invade Ukraine. The intelligence community is sharing a growing number of reports about 69-year-old Putin’s ‘increasingly erratic behaviour’, combined with a bloated appearance in recent footage – and the absurd distance he insists on keeping from visitors to the Kremlin.

Even though winter doesn't end until next weekend, daylight saving time will announce its entrance at 2 a.m. local time Sunday for most of the country, while standard time hibernates until November 6. Remember to set clocks an hour ahead, usually before bed Saturday night. It will stay lighter for longer into the evening but the sun will rise later in the morning than it has during the months of standard time. No time change is observed in Hawaii, most of Arizona, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Marianas.

An attack on the U.S. would bring out the patriotism of many Americans, according to a Quinnipiac poll released Tuesday, but a surprising number of our fellow citizens would also cut and run.
Here's the Washington Times story about it:
An attack on the U.S. homeland would bring out the fight in most Americans. according to a new poll, but a surprisingly large percentage say they'd flee.
A Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday asked Americans what they would do "if they were in the same position as Ukrainians are now: stay and fight or leave the country?"

Florida cops have arrested an alleged drug dealer they say sold the fentanyl-laced cocaine to several West Point cadets who overdosed during a spring break trip this week.Axel Giovany Casseus, 21, was jailed Saturday in lieu of $50,000 bail, Local10 News reported. After identifying Casseus, an undercover police officer was successfully able to purchase 43 grams of cocaine from him for $1,000, according to an arrest report, the network reported. While in custody, Casseus admitted to selling drugs to the West Point cadets and his phone contained correspondence with them, authorities said.
