The New York Times hired Morning Consult, a polling firm usually associated with Politico, to ask people where inflation hits hardest. It was a pretty good piece of journalism. The story said, "when asked which of the price increases have caught their attention, many mentioned necessities like gas, milk, ground beef and bread — a notably different universe of products than the narrower set of items, like used cars and raw lumber, that were soaring in price last spring." (snip). From the Times story: “A car battery costs almost two times as much.” “Bacon is as expensive as filet mignon used to be.” “Cold cereal has gone up, and the box has shrunk.”

It's a myth that the Supreme Court is 6-3 conservative. Chief Justice Roberts used to vote in favor of far more of the conservative arguments, but (to the best of my recollection) beginning during Obama's first term in office, he far more frequently votes with the Democrats/liberals, especially in the major cases that are very important to the Dems/Libs. Many conservatives, including many who comment here on Lucianne, believe that the Democrats pull out their "Blackmail Roberts card" in such cases, whereby Roberts (too often surprisingly) votes with the liberal justices. Many conservatives are thus far very disappointed with many of Kavanaugh's and Barrett's votes but are somewhat less disappointed with Gorsuch.

You can find thick cut bacon for $8 a pound. Filet? North of $17. I can’t find this trend. Even good bacon from Nueske’s is about $11 a pound.

When I was young a soft drink in a bottle or can was a nickel. Now it's two bucks. Used to air was free. Now at some service stations you are charged for air for your tires. There's also inflation in politics. The cost to bribe a politican is way up. You have to pay Hunter $ 90k a month to do nothing. What would they have to pay to have him do something.

Judging by the reaction from peers in media, you might think Maria Bartiromo said something incorrect on Sunday when she noted, “Some people have told me over the weekend that they feel that at the end of the day this administration does not see Putin as the enemy, they see him as a partner on many issues.” It’s hardly a stretch to imagine someone mentioning that to Bartiromo because it’s true. Viewers who watched the full clip would have heard Bartiromo specifically cite climate change and the Iran nuclear deal as the issues in question when she made the statement on Fox News’s ”Sunday Morning Futures.”

Pentagon Spokesperson John Kirby stated in this interview that “no U.S. service members were killed in the attack” that took place near the Ukraine-Poland border in the town of Lviv. However, it is important to qualify that government “contractors” are often used in these Military training centers. The military compound in Lviv, which is only 15 miles from the border with Poland, was being used as a military “training facility” for Ukrainian forces. Knowing the U.S. and NATO were funneling weapons into Ukraine through this specific region, it stands to reason this “training facility” was targeted by Russia specifically because it was a weapons cache for arms flowing

A Michigan county elections official and former township clerk was charged with ballot tampering related to the August 2020 primary election, according to state Attorney General Dana Nessel. Kathy Funk, who was running in 2020 as a Democrat for reelection as Flint Township clerk, also was charged with misconduct in office, Nessel said. The charges, which are both felonies, each carry a maximum sentence of five years in prison upon conviction. Nessel alleged that Funk purposely broke a seal on a container for ballots so that the votes couldn’t be totaled during an anticipated recount. She narrowly won reelection in the unofficial count, the attorney general’s office said.

President Donald John Trump fixed the courts. The Supreme Court is now 6-3 conservative. This means we no longer have to rely on the chief justice's weathervane to protect the Constitution. The lower courts are better, and another round of appellate court appointments with a Republican Senate and Republican president should remove most of the remaining stain of the judiciary that Obama made. Now to make good use of the Trumpian Court. Republicans need to vet, recruit, and prepare for battle about 1,000 lawyers for service beginning January 20, 2025.
