Russia has asked China for military equipment after running out of weapons during its sluggish invasion of Ukraine, US officials have claimed. Details on what types of weaponry were requested, and whether China has moved to supply Vladimir Putin's government have yet to emerge - but the request has sparked extreme concern among western governments. On Sunday night, the US was said to be preparing to warn its allies, amid some indications that China may be preparing to help Russia out, the Financial Times reported.

It's Reuters and AP combined, so you better take it with two grains of salt...

The arms dealers and the large-scale infrastructure rebuilders want us dragged into this one way or another. The population control crowd is on board too, seeing how the coronavirus didn't kill anywhere near as many people as they'd hoped.

This was predicted a couple of weeks ago and pooh-poohed by commentors.
Russia has not been able to afford to build up big stocks of weapons. For example, estimates were that they only had about 300 total cruise missiles on their ships, and few in warehouses.
I expected that this was likely to be true.

If we engage in Eurasia, China will likely move on Taiwan and dare the US to fight on two fronts simultaneously. The Iranians will move on Iraq and or Israel opening three fronts. The US military is woke and will go broke ASAP!

If Russia runs out of conventional capability, the only thing left is manpower on the ground or nukes to save face. Be interesting to see how this China rumor plays out.

They've got plenty of nukes, just so long as they have sufficient matches to light the fuses.

I’m beginning to wonder if China is as big a paper tiger as the Russians. They both march real good in their parades but are they really worth a Brandon when the shootin starts?

Russia isn’t running out of weapons. Its been stockpiling for decades, not fighting wars like Iraq and Afghanistan, churning through trillions of dollars and enormous amounts of equipment and weapons. This is an infantry , artillery, missile and armored vehicle war and Russia has ample resources to conduct a long term ground game. The Ukrainians have the advantage in high tech defensive infantry, but not against ground troops, missiles or long range artillery. Russia needs trade with China and political support not weapons. Notice that the Russian Air Force is largely absent. It’s not needed and plays into the “no fly zone”. The Russians underestimated the amount of weapons we have pumping into Ukraine, but unfortunately it reaffirms how dangerous NATO would be on their border to its leadership.

So, if China does send weapons I guess it will be OK for any country to send weapons to Ukraine, including us? Isn't that how it works? The next step will be sending troops and things will go from horrible to unspeakable. Thanks, Joe Biden for your corrupt and incompetent administration.

And just a few weeks ago some were (still are) portraying the Russians as a first-rate military that would dominate Europe, if not the world if unleashed.
The Russians are a land "power" that historically has never been able to project power much beyond its borders. We're seeing that again. Yes, they have missiles and nukes...weapons of desperation. Ukraine isn't going to roll to Moscow. And one hopes NATO will allow this war to burn itself out, either way. That body has already shown its rear end to the world.
