Tampa, Fla. — Tom Brady’s retirement lasted 40 days.
Brady said Sunday he’s returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his 23rd season in the NFL.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion announced his decision on Twitter and Instagram, saying he has “unfinished business.”
“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” Brady wrote. “That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa.”
Brady led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl title following the 2020 season and NFC South championship last season.

What unfinished business is he talking about? What else does he think he hasn't accomplished? He's just coming back because they offered him more money.

The screaming sound is the dude who paid $518,000 for Brady’s “last” touchdown ball to Mike Evans.

How much did that cost the Buccaneers?

Who can blame him? With rising gas prices, hey, that retirement check wasn't gonna go as far as he thought.
Anyway, Tom Brady could be 80 years old, spend Monday through Saturday in a dementia ward, and still show up on the field Sunday and beat the cr*p out of you.

I am so glad Brady is returning to the field. He is the greatest QB to ever play, and the best person to watch because of his knowledge of the game. He is also a fantastic person. It is inspiring to see an older person sticking to it. You have guessed I am a Tom Brady fan, and hope to see him throw his 700th td pass. Tampa Bay has their QB back.

Tampa Bay lured Brady with its excellent receivers. Sadly for them, injuries and a conspicuous meltdown left the team hamstrung entering the playoffs last season. With healthy pass catchers next year, expect more on Brady's GOATness next year. I say good.

Are Peyton and Eli coming back as well? Tom has 7 superbowl wins. 3 more and he'll have a ring for each finger. Like to wake up in the morning and listen to the talking heads on ESPN yell at each other. Thank goodness there's something besides basketball to talk about.

No one knows for sure but I'm thinking that the Mrs., facing the realty of Tom being at home ("for the family") and really secretly wanting to be on the field again, figured that all their lives would be less complicated in the near term if Tom continued playing football. He was just seconds away from going to the Super Bowl again this past year - remember he doesn't play defense so that ending was to some extent out of his hands. There are some great young guns out there and he wants to go up against them for the same reason Rocky Balboa kept (keeps?) fighting as the years go by - to continue to prove what he is made up of in terms of heart and willpower when facing potential defeat and father time. Great theater if nothing else and beats the heck out of fishing or golfing on a Sunday afternoon!

So, what's wrong with working through retirement? Started my own soil consulting business after taking early retirement over 10 years ago. Its been very successful for me and I'm active and in good health. Brady might be the only person in the NFL that has a clue about staying at work, doesnt beat his wife, is a good citizen, and gets his job done.

It's his life. I just hope he doesn't get banged up so much that he suffers in some way for the rest of his life. I am a firm believer in going out at the top.

The NFL has got to change two rules.
The first is pass interference, which, currently,is a joke. Defensive backs do everything except carry blackjacks.
The second is the overtime rule. It is even a bigger joke. LA did not win the Super Bowl, except on rolls of the dice.
