Portland Mayor Bans Police Use of
Tear Gas After 100 Days of Rioting

Original Article

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler has banned the use of tear gas on rioters in the Oregon city. [snip] have used tear gas to quell riots over nearly four months. “We need something different. We need it now,” the mayor wrote, adding: It’s time for everyone to reduce the violence in our community. We all want change. We all have the opportunity and obligation to create change. We all want to focus on the fundamental issue at hand–justice for Black people and all people of color. Wheeler said his administration and Oregon’s Legislature are seeking “safer alternatives” to the nonlethal gas.

Weary as we are of Mayor Wheeler's management style, here is one more example of his total nuttiness.

Something different? May I suggest cyanide in the bottled water that you supply to them? Quiet, no muss, no fuss and much safer - for police and citizens. The rioters will die but hey, you can't have everything and you only have to deal with them once.

Hizzoner said “ It’s time for everyone to reduce the violence in our community. “. So by “everyone” he is morally equating lawful acts by the police attempting to maintain law and order with the actions of rioters and looters seeking to destroy life and property. To see if this makes any sense, ask a simple question - what would happen if the police unilaterally stood down, vs. what would happen if the rioters stand down? What a maroon, but he will be a top candid for President Kamala’s envoy for peace in the Middle East.

Wheeler you are so spot on! We do need something different. To start with a new mayor who has at least half a brain, not a jackass who was sent to schools that your father had to bribe to take you. How much did he have to pay to get you through High School?? Hm, that much!?!?! Must have been a fortune to push you through all those colleges, sad to see how much time you wasted there and were not able to learn a thing! Secondly, the new mayor will only have the role of mayor not police commissioner at the same time.... we have seen what that leads to didn't we. Let's hope that guy is not remotely related to you or Portland will be in trouble again. Wheeler, are you paying attention? Pack your things, get out but don't forget you are a goner as well not just your furniture. Move and never come back!!!!

So I guess when some college aged snowflake start tossing Molotov Cocktails at officers deadly force is now the alternative for officer to protect themselves. Deploy lead rather than gas, brilliant! Order's 'most-favored-nation price' ties Medicare costs to those paid in other countries. Drugmakers outraged. President Trump on Sunday signed an executive order moving Medicare one step closer to a "most favored nation" drug pricing system, instructing the government health care program for seniors to develop and test paying the same drug prices as other developed countries with cost controls. The memo defines the most-favored-nation price as "the lowest price, after adjusting for volume and differences in national gross domestic product, for a pharmaceutical product

Joe has failed every big test when given executive authority. Joe Biden has been trying to embrace Barack Obama's record because he doesn't have one of his own, but the former vice president didn't fair well in what arguably was the 43rd president's biggest accomplishment, argues Dan McLaughlin in an analysis for National Review. The best moment of Obama's presidency was the May 2011 raid into Pakistan that killed Osama bin Laden. But it happened only because Obama ignored Biden when the vice president said, "Mr. President, my suggestion is, don't go."

I woke up in the morning wondering about the dark red rays coming from behind the curtain. While I expected the darkened sky, the degree of darkness and the fact that I couldn’t smell fire surprised me. Northern California fires have become increasingly common over the last decade as a consequence of mismanaging the environment. Native Americans staged controlled burns to safeguard their villages and create favorable hunting conditions. We failed to emulate that practice, and, as even Mother Jones concedes, so much fuel accumulated in the wilderness that megafires began burning year after year.
