"Welcome to Freedom!" exclaims real estate agent Ashley Scott as she surveys the nearly 97 acres of land that she and a group of 19 Black families purchased in August. "I'm hoping that it will be a thriving safe haven for people of color, for Black families in particular," Scott says. The land sits just East of Macon in rural Wilkinson County, Georgia. Scott and her friend, investor and entrepreneur Renee Walters, didn't initially plan on buying a large plot of land, but they had a vision that was clear—to create a safe space for their Black families.

According to government crime statistics, the cities that would be safest for blacks, would ironically be cities with no blacks in it.

You know what, I thinks its great, I hope that the 19 families can purchase and build their homes outright. Once you have ownership, comes responsibility and pride to maintain what is yours. Also, it gives you perspective when others want something for nothing. Hopefully it can work for them and build a greater sense of family, because we all know how important that is.

I give them a decade. If they can't solve the whole black on black crime problem, they'll be a ghost town by that time.
Besides, here they are talking about a town deliberately segregated. I thought that was illegal.

In the 1920s Harlem was almost entirely black and thriving. Black owned businesses prospered and the streets were (mostly) safe any time of day. Restaurants and jazz clubs were overflowing with patrons. On Sundays entire families walked to church together in their finest clothing. Then in the 1930s Democrats decided to ''help'' the black communities and pretty much wrecked the entrepreneurial spirit and family structure. Poverty, crime, and unemployment soon followed.

Frankly, if whites did this, they would be labled racists and sued into bankruptcy.
However, I actually dont have a problem with this. We all have the constitutional right of free association. I believe that people should have the right to exclude or include anyone that they want to. So long as they are private or membership organizations. Likewise, as a service provider, I reserve the right not to service an exclusionary group.
I dont endorse or necessarily approve of exclusionary organizations. I simply dont care. People should be able to freely associate with anyone tge want so long as its on their dime and they arent infringing on someone else's rights. For example, the Boy Scouts shouldnt be forced to accept females anymore that the Girl Scouts should have to accept males.

Who is going to provide police, fire, and ambulance services? Macon? Toomsboro? When a political entity gets an influx of people they try and capture the vote and money to "underserved" sections by annexing areas of privilege who moved to other certain areas to avoid higher taxes. If this turns into New Haiti, watch some mayor or the city council try to make normies pay up to police the mess.

I’m guessing that the promoters won’t be seeking criminals- even wealthy ones- to buy in. So I’m thinking that at an important level, implicit in their thinking if not explicit, is that it’s the quality of the person that counts.
Any sane white person would rather have a solid honest conservative black neighbor than a terrible white one.
So I assume they won’t be insane. And ethnic neighborhoods once again arise.

97 acres isn't a 'city' -- it's more a small neighborhood. But CNN can't resist the urge to twist and distort their reporting to manipulate perceptions of readers / viewers (all 31 and a half of them). So let them call it a city. Hell, let's call it a nation or even a world. The name Fantasyland comes to mind.

Hilarious. Just call it the Further South Side of Chicago. If these are affluent families the dindonuffins will invade the place and loot it. And the brilliant woman is already stating that she wants people to “stay in the streets”. Does that include the streets in her new town?

This is just almost exactly the same size as the Mall of America.
The mall is large enough to fit seven Yankee Stadiums inside.
And, it is also a "high rise" having four stories, so, quadruple that.
The mall is home to more than 500 stores, too, so it generates lots of income.
So, there's the dreamers' plan for success.
Let's watch and see how they do.

I just wish Trump and others would take on BLM and the 1619 Project directly. Led by the NYTimes, Democrats have intentionally fractured the country, just like they did in the 1860s and the 1960s. Now we have young African-
American kids believing that racist whites will deny them success in life. And white kids being taught that it's also their fault. The only pushback was Trump's speeches over July 4th, (quickly forgotten thanks to a NASCAR tweet), and an occasional comment that we're a great country. BLM/1619 are big deals, and not just for the election. Big role here also for conservative Blacks. Where are they?

If they're all on board with it and really mean what they say, they could make a one-entrance cul-de-sac neighborhood in 97 acres, and it would be reasonably safe... until the first family sells out. Then all bets are off.

This is a "cooperative" buy, so no one family owns any indivifual property. The first item on their agenda is fish farm and land farming .... on so few acres, this is not even the size of a typical family farm in this country. This is an investment, no one is ever going to live there. From the sound of the women involved, where they say that 1.7 million is the cost of a small condo, these are obviously very well-to-do individuals. They will never personally run the farms.or clean a fish tank.Nor would they want to live near the smells and noises of a working farm.

I wish them the best of luck. However, if my knowledge of law is correct, what they're doing is discriminatory and someone will file a lawsuit forcing them to integrate; then the whole "Black Only" premise will go down the drain and it'll just be another "failed attempt." Even HBCUs have to admit a certain percentage of non-Black students (as they should). This enterprise won't be any different.
