Democrats Gained These Voters in 2018,
and Biden Needs to Keep Them Now

Two years ago, a flood of anti-Trump sentiment helped flip the House of Representatives blue, with Democratic candidates winning more votes than Republicans by nearly 10 percentage points nationwide — a record margin for a party that had been in the minority.
Because the 2018 election was largely seen as a referendum on President Trump, Democratic strategists are looking to carry those gains forward. Indeed, national and swing-state polls continue to show Joseph R. Biden Jr. with a steady lead — particularly in the suburban areas where Democrats made some of their biggest gains in the midterms.
But Mr. Biden may not be able to count on the same level

Remember 2 years ago the nation was reeling from the full affront of the Russian hoax and Mueller's fake news headlines.

I was curious about the author. He's a music critic for the NYT having graduated from Tufts with a degree in African-American history.

Maybe that was true two years ago. But you need to remember, two years ago people were not going out to vote like they do during the presidential race. Things have changed. There will be LONG lines at the polling sites.

A flood of theft is what happened in 2018. Remember there was a lot of vote harvesting in that election.

Just like 1994 and 2010 the voters always reward the party that loses both the congressional and the presidential election (2002 was an aberration with 9/11). Doesn't mean anything for the incumbent president, actually gives him something to run against (especially if the party is insane).

2018 was a referendum on Party hacks in the GOP. They had this nice energetic and thoughtful president and they dragged their feet. Also the Dems focused their cheating against particularly troublesome GOP who wouldn't play ball or fall into their honey-traps.
I've come to the understanding that they only have a limited number of agents capable of faking ballots in the normal way. In a national election, they concentrate those in key states. With the mail in, they think they can win by getting their friends in China to print up fakes, ship them to the dems to postmark and over the next month or so, slowly erode any advantage he has with the electorate. Don't be surprised if you see 120% or even 150% voter participation.
You'll know whats up.
But don't give up.

I don't believe that the 2018 election was a referendum against President Trump. I believe it was a referendum against a Republican Congress who promised to do things like secure the border, eliminate Obamacare and secure the voting process from corruption, and investigate Hillary's private server. When that didn't happen, I think many Republicans felt that there was little difference between voting Democrat or voting Republican. As the apparent coup indicates, there is a clear difference. While I always vote, I have to admit to being very disappointed in the failure of the Republicans to fix these issues when they had the chance. Especially when some Republicans specifically ran on these issues and then pointedly voted against them. see McCain, John.

This is one of my favorite things about the left. They are masters of theatre and the narrative. So good, that they forget they created the story out of whole cloth, and now believe their own BS. Republicans lost in 2018 in large part due to vote fraud. It’s really just that simple. And, if Republicans don’t stop with the excuses for their losses, and beginto grasp and deal with this reality, they will lose again.

This is the best that the NYT can do. I give them minimal credit for trying but I stopped reading fake news a long time ago. Russonello is a contributor, not a full time Slimes person but he makes just as little sense as the fully-brainwashed regulars. Two years ago has been a lifetime for most of us and the democrats have lost a lot of ground since then.

In 2018, republicans were fairly satisfied with Trump and not particularly hacked off. Least we forget all of the new "moderate" democrats running on bipartisanship. In the following two years, the treasoncrats have repeatedly insulted, assaulted and poked republicans. The new moderates proved to be anything but. And now the treasoncrats are openly encouraging, supporting, funding, cheerleading and defending wholesale riots and destruction.
Republicans are hacked off. We arent marching thru the streets.....yet. But Im seeing seething out there.
