Senate Republicans hoping to go on offense this week found themselves instead playing defense once again because of controversial remarks by President Trump — this time to Watergate reporter Bob Woodward.
It was a familiar dilemma for GOP senators used to being chased by reporters over their thoughts on Trump’s latest furor, but in this case it came with terrible timing — eight weeks before an election in which the Senate is on the line and as they hoped to call attention to Democrats blocking a coronavirus relief bill Thursday on a procedural motion.

What bombshell?
President Trump was forced to waste WEEKS defending himself against the Impeachment Hoax instead of focusing on the Wuhan Flu. Why hasn't anyone mentioned this?

Bombshell? The bombshell ole Bob sat on for months so he could pocket more money via his book? THAT bombshell?
How ‘bout this— if Republicans spent more time undergirding this President, they wouldn’t need to “scramble to contain fallout.. from [a 6-month-old] bombshell.”
Idiots.

The word bombshell is fast losing impact, every little thing that can be said to denigrate our President is always s bombshell. Well, a lot of bombshells are duds that don't explode. Mattis is one of them, as dud as they come.

Playing defense? What a bunch of losers. If they ever took a principled stand it would amaze me. This type of behavior is not going to get them votes, so if they are only trying to protect their cushy jobs they can't even do that right. Heaven forbid they ever give a rip about the country and the American people.

Everything he is accused of saying doesn't jibe with how he actually handled the COVID situation. Most everything I have heard about this book sounds like Democrat fantasy.
Now, supposedly there are tapes of all these things he allegedly said. I wonder if they are doctored or even completely made up. A lot of splicing and re-recording?? A voice actor pretending to be him? Considering how Trump feels about the media, it makes NO sense that he would meet with Woodward (of all people!) so many times for multiple interviews, let alone even once! I just do not see it. One would have to be totally braindead stupid to say those things he is accused of saying in that book. I would demand those tapes be analyzed. The President has his shortcomings and is not the most eloquent of speakers, but he is not an idiot. Please tell me this is just a nightmare. The left is doing every thing to carpet bomb him with every smear possible. It's obvious they will continue to attack him at every opportunity and don't worry about the fallout because there are way too many of them to go after for all the lies and deception.

This is called CYA, folks.
The GOP knows the dems are planning to cheat. But realize, most of the GOP are really second string democrats and people with such a lust for hedonism, that they are already in the dems pockets: bought, paid for, and damned.
This little farce is to give them an excuse to turn away and say, "its trumps fault" when the Democrats start dumping in the fake mail-in ballots.
Understand. There are very few people on Capitol Hill who actually have his back.We are approaching the first act of the final battle. Armageddon approaches.

Like all of the others we have endured, this "bombshell" is nothing more than passed gas in a windstorm. The initial claim was that the President acted too early and overreacted rashly, Woodward's and now others' claims are that he did not act early enough. The dimmocrat propaganda machine can not get its story straight. Donald Trump was listening to Dr. Fauci and the CDC when we all thought they were somewhat competent. We have learned differently.

In my humble opinion, Woodward is only one level up from Biden when it comes to speaking. Jeesh! It takes him three minutes to get out a couple words. I am not scrambling or anything else over Woodward's Book. He's a Liberal and is trying to stop Trump with a bunch of Lies. Simple as that! Like a tiny barking puppy yapping at our ankles.

Even if I believe Bob Woodward which I don't, he is trying to sell a book just like John Bolton. Perhaps Donald Trump didn't want people to go into a panic. What is wrong with that? This man loves our country and wants the best for it and Democrats can't seem to figure it out with the American people. Donald Trump has it figured out because he becomes one of those people when the presidency ends for him.
Democrats, liberals and RINO's are doing everything possible to discredit President Donald Trump. We MAGA supporters are going to have to hang on through all of this. I prefer to hang onto God's "coat tails" for my guidance. . .

The "bombshell" has even less impact considering that Donald Trump and those of us who didn't panic turned out to be right. The virus is no worse than the annual flu and far less serious than the strains of flu that were actual killers in the past and totally ignored (see Obama, Barack H.) Masks are disappearing all over the place.

"Bombshell"???? More like a tiny little dud, "pft." A few days ago Ben Shapiro played a montage of Trump saying repeatedly, over and over, beginning in February and continuing well into April, that he was trying to not panic the public. So Trump didn't say anything to Woodward that he wasn't out there at the time saying publicly and often. It's as if Woodward just "revealed" that Trump always wears a suit. Calm down. The Republicans got so used to losing that they forgot what winning is like. Here's a hint: your opposition tells lies about you.

I have never seen such dainty emotional doilies as the members of congress we have right now. The slightest breeze gets them totally ruffled. With the way they behave, along with the media, Trump can pretty much do what he needs to do, because the opposition is gonna whine and howl no matter what he does. The old darn if he does, darn if he doesn't syndrome.

The 18 "meetings" were all phone calls of short duration. You can be sure President Trump also recorded the calls. PDT has been talking to the media types for over 40 years. Bob Woodward has been Trumped. Just as PDT trolls Twitter, he just trolled a whole book. One by one Trump is picking off the Left's icons. By November 3rd the Democrat's political landscape will be as charred as California's forests.

For little bobby's info, PRESIDENT Trump had Dr.Fauci, a DEMOCRAT, along with Dr BrixScarf, another DEMOCRAT, as advisers. There also just happens to be video and audio of Nasty nancy, hiden biden and other democrats that advised everyone that the wuhan flu was nothing to be concerned about. Actually, if truth be told, less people have died from the wuhan then the common flu. Nice try bobby.

The only people paying any attention at all to this crap are politicians and the propagandists who create and spread it. Some clod fabricates a story out of bits and pieces of conversations all taken out of context or simply makes the thing up out of whole cloth and our "leaders" all go ape over it. Meanwhile we have open insurrection in a number of cities going hand-in-hand with open degeneracy and depravity in our schools and these "leaders" can't be bothered to even comment on it let alone do anything about it. Not to mention the nation is running a 4 trillion dollar deficit (so far) and it gets no mention at all (does anyone even care?).
