Baker Mayfield has done an about face.
The Browns quarterback, who insisted in June and reiterated in August that he’d be kneeling for the national anthem, had announced via social media that he will stand. (snip) "I have been showed that a gesture such as kneeling will only create more division or discussion about the gesture, rather than be a solution towards our country’s problems at hand. With that being said, I am choosing to stand for both anthems to show respect, love, and unity to everybody involved."

He shouldn't have to be concerned about this at all. The Chiefs and the Texans solved all the racial problems Thursday night. I, for one, am relieved that the issue is in the past and we can move on.

I hope he stands by his current decision. It may not be easy when so many athletes are easily brainwashed by BLM rhetoric. But the majority of fans hate seeing the flag trampled upon before the start of each game.

Once the NFL reached clown show status, a lot of their solid fan base has decided to move on. For those who still choose to watch the social/political antics that have now diluted the athletic performance entertainment, they would probably accept the ritual beating of a white cheerleader at halftime as a commitment to the BLM cause. If the NFL were to cease to exist tomorrow, a lot of previous fans would not notice--they have already disconnected.

What do you think would happen if one of those kneeling players made the sign of the cross and was obviously praying, not kneeling for the marxist organization aka BLM?

If I want to watch a bunch of people get together and support politics, I would attend a rally. (PRESIDENT Trump rally) But why would I pay good money to watch a bunch of over rated football players tell me about how socially unjust this country is, who just so happen to be millionaires, because I buy a ticket to the game to watch them PLAY. Oh and most of the millionaires, are black. No more of my hard earned cash is going for anything NFL. Nothing. goes for basketball too!

Mayfield's statement seems to be the most rational of them so far. Oklahoma is the a principal rival of two of my favorite teams, though; so it kills me inside to feel a twinge of respect for one of their stars.

Yet Tim Teabow is out of the league for his statement.

Why is this even an issue? Either stand for national anthem, or find another job.

Teams should give them a choice; Stand for the anthem and flag, or kneel in fealty to President Trump.

Good for him. Maybe. Kneeling has both knees bent, back straight. What the colin-kaepernicks are doing is ''taking a knee'' like black players have been posturing for the last few seasons and like members of Congress did with their Kinte (Ghanaian textile) show-off cloths. The knock-kneed cadaver Pelosi needed more help than she got, trying to rise after the Kabuki Theater piece was finished and the cameras quit rolling.

He need not worry. The Chiefs and Texans resolved this issue for all time on Thursday night. I, for one, am relieved that we never have to be concerned about it again.

Good for you Baker. It's way too late. But good for you. 80% of real football fans will not be watching, no matter what you do. I am through with a side of sports served with a great big main course of social justice. I'm finding I don't miss it as much as I thought I would. So, in the words of Curly Bill.... Bye.

now try to earn your pay, mayfiield. As it stands, you are just the latest spectacular failure in the Browns drafting of quarterbacks.

Now we have anthems based on skin COLOR ? What about a Brown anthem, a Yellow anthem, etc, After all, THESE LIVES MATTER. I was never aware that the National Anthem was for WHITES, only.

Not good enough. Why must a black national anthem be played when not all players are black and who cares about your silly ball game anyway? America will no longer accept the chang of mind scenario because you crybabies are only doing it to save your careers and your salaries now that you see how many people actually hate you for what you have done. You spoke and you will go broke. End of story.

Putting your finger up in the air to see which way the wind blows doesn't count for character, Mr Mayfield. sorry but as they say "No cigar". You overpaid brainless wonders are going to suffer the consequences of spitting in your fan's faces. Too little too late.
