This should surprise no one. The seeds of radicalism were planted long ago. Democratic strategist and Friend of Bill James Carville recently said he is “scared to death” for the future of the Democratic Party. “Are we going to be an ideological cult? Or do we want to have a majoritarian

On the morning of July 24, I received the unbelievable and shocking news from a family member that a friend of mine and that wonderful God-fearing patriot — the "Unhyphenated American" Lloyd Marcus, had suddenly died of a "pulmonary embolism". I first made Lloyd's acquaintance about two years ago when I started corresponding with him after being duly impressed with his well reasoned and highly articulate articles published in American Thinker. This past January, we finally met when Lloyd flew out to California along with his wife Mary and several friends and members of Lloyd's Deplorable Chorus to film Lloyd's patriotic and uplifting music video in support of President
FBI Finds Two ‘Material’ Errors In Audit

The FBI said Thursday that the bureau found just two “material” errors in an audit of 29 applications to surveil American citizens, an error rate that pales in comparison to the 17 “significant” problems discovered in applications for surveillance orders against former Trump campaign aide Carter Page. In a statement, the FBI said that the two errors found in the 29 applications likely would not have changed the FISA Court’s decision to grant the underlying surveillance orders. “None of the errors that had been identified by DOJ-OIG undermined or otherwise impacted the validity of the FISC’s orders,” the FBI said in a statement, according to Fox News.
The Democrats Surrender in Portland replies

The Democrats’ surrender in Portland, coming so precipitously after the appearance by Attorney General Barr before the Judiciary Committee in the House, looks like a favorable development, insofar as it goes. It may be too soon for victory to be declared by America’s government and other allies of moderation, law, and order. We’d like to think, though, that the capitulation in Portland suggests that principle can prevail. The deal was struck Wednesday, the day after Mr. Barr laid down the law before the House Judiciary Committee: “Since when is it okay to try and burn down a federal court,”
Riots for thee, but not for me replies

A funny thing happened on the way to the riots. Left-wing revolutionaries discovered ‘NIMBY!’ — Not In My Backyard. The first hint came in May when the sports reporter Chris Martin Palmer tweeted ‘Burn that s*** down!’ cheering on low-income housing in Minnesota being set ablaze. But then the rioters came for him. Distraught, Palmer tweeted out an SOS. ‘They just attacked our sister community [note the woke gender designation] down the street,’ he furiously typed. ‘It’s a gated community and they tried to climb the gates.’ A mysterious ‘they’ then had to ‘beat them back’. And it got worse. ‘They destroyed a Starbucks.’
D.C. Circuit will rehear the
Flynn-Sullivan case en banc

After a panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals ordered Judge Emmet Sullivan to grant the Department of Justice’s motion to dismiss the prosecution of Gen. Michael Flynn before Judge Sullivan had ruled on the motion, Sullivan petitioned for review by the full D.C. Circuit. Two of the three judges on the panel were appointed by Republicans. By contrast, most of the judges on the full court were appointed by Democrats. Therefore, it’s not surprising that the full court has decided to review the panel’s order. To be fair, the panel’s order is arguably erroneous. Granting a writ of mandamus, as the panel did, is an extraordinary measure.
George W. Bush Has More Class

Admiration for George W. Bush doesn’t win you much praise in today’s Republican Party, but I don’t care. On Thursday former President George W. Bush attended and delivered a speech at the late Congressman John Lewis’s funeral. George W. Bush had every reason not to attend Lewis’s funeral, let alone eulogize him. Lewis may have been a famed civil rights leader, but he was also a bitter partisan Democrat congressman, who boycotted both of Bush’s inaugurations. Bush barely mentioned the political division between him and Lewis. “John and I had our disagreements of course,” Bush said.
California’s Woke Hypocrisy replies

No state wears its multicultural veneer more ostentatiously than California. The Golden State’s leaders believe that they lead a progressive paradise, ushering in what theorists Laura Tyson and Lenny Mendonca call “a new progressive era.” Others see California as deserving of nationhood; it reflects, as a New York Times columnist put it, “the shared values of our increasingly tolerant and pluralistic society.” In response to the brutal killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti announced plans to defund the police—a move applauded by Senator Kamala Harris, a prospective Democratic vice presidential candidate, despite the city’s steep rise in homicides.

President Trump on Thursday offered to pay for the funeral of a soldier found dead after disappearing in April from Fort Hood — and said he’s paid for other funerals for troops. Trump made the offer while hosting the family of Vanessa Guillen, who was 20, in the Oval Office. A male soldier suspected of killing Guillen near the Texas base committed suicide, the Army has said. In response to a reporter’s question, Trump said he’s paid for other soldiers’ funerals.
The New George Wallace: Barack Obama replies

“And I say … segregation today … segregation tomorrow … segregation forever.” Fifty-seven years ago, the newly sworn-in Democrat governor of Alabama, George Wallace, delivered those words in his inaugural address. In other words: George Wallace, who was a product of a political party that built its political power by supporting every imaginable policy that divided Americans by race, was at it again. Using the momentary pulpit that was a governor’s inaugural to play the race card — again. Yesterday there was a new George Wallace. He appeared in an Atlanta church to eulogize the late Democratic Congressman John Lewis, Lewis a certifiable hero of the 1960s civil rights movement.

Herman Cain, who died Thursday after being hospitalized for coronavirus, was Trump before Trump. I first met Herman Cain in 2011, when he was running for the Republican nomination for president. He was the Donald Trump candidate before Trump: a successful businessman, a Washington outsider, a larger-than-life personality with an extraordinary story. In those days the only people who dared run for president were governors or Washington insiders. So when Herman Cain threw his hat into the ring for president, the Washington establishment couldn’t wait to treat it like a joke. What did he know about government? Politics? Elections? Who does he think he is trying to run for president? Sound familiar?

A St. Louis County, Mo., prosecutor said Thursday that he will not be charging the White police officer who shot 18-year-old Michael Brown in 2014, after quietly reopening the investigation. Civil rights leaders and Brown's mother reportedly hoped that Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell, who became the county’s first Black prosecutor in January 2019, might reopen the investigation into police officer Darren Wilson, who shot Brown six years ago. Bell told reporters today that his decision was “one of the most difficult things I’ve had to do."

Former CIA Director John Brennan, a vocal critic of President Trump, found out he had been blocked from accessing his classified notes and records while working on his new memoir. He writes in his forthcoming book, Undaunted: My Fight Against America’s Enemies, at Home and Abroad, that after months of "haggling" he discovered the CIA was abiding by the directive Trump gave in August 2018 "that purportedly forbids anyone in the intelligence community from sharing classified information with me." The White House confirmed the directive was being enforced, which is news considering the New York Times reported in May of last year

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell knows Republicans in his chamber are going to face tough campaigns this year to hold on to their majority in November. "We've got a lot of seats to defend all over the country, and in about seven or eight places, it’s like a knife fight in an alley already, and we very much understand the Senate could go either way," McConnell said Wednesday on Fox News's The Story with Martha MacCallum. McConnell's comments come as a new analysis by the nonpartisan Cook Political Report shows a bleak outlook for several GOP senators who are losing ground to their Democratic challengers.
