WASHINGTON — A federal appeals court in Washington has agreed to reconsider a split ruling issued last month ordering the release of President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, who previously admitted to lying to the FBI.
In a 2-1 decision, a panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ordered Flynn's release after determining that the court didn't have the authority to question the Justice Department's decision to drop the case.
On Thursday, the court vacated that order and set arguments over the decision for Aug. 11.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos told a congressional antitrust hearing on Wednesday that he was unsure if his company had used the data of third-party sellers to inform Amazon’s business decisions, in violation of its own policies.
Bezos made the admission during questioning by Representative Pramila Jayapal (D., Wash.), whose district in Seattle is home to Amazon headquarters. Amazon has faced accusations from former employees that the company has used data from third-party sellers to market and manufacture its own products, which often directly imitate the most popular third-party products, to the detriment of those independent sellers.

Hundreds of Seattle residents spoke up about proposals to “Defund the police” during a city council budget meeting on Wednesday, according to reports.
The council is considering a plan that could slash the budget of the city’s police department by 50 percent – resulting in layoffs for hundreds of officers – all as Seattle deals with the coronavirus outbreak and frequent riots and other unrest since the May 25 death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis.
While the “Defund the police” effort was initially popular in the city, opponents of the plan have been growing more vocal, Q13 FOX of Seattle reported.

Politicians and various social justice groups have long used labels that have nothing to do with the real intent of legislation, or an organization, to dupe the public.
