Well, it may be time to deploy the military to Seattle after all because what local lawmakers are doing is nothing short of allowing the city to be engulfed in violence and anarchy. They’re moving to abolish the police. It’s not defunding. It’s a total dissolution. Non-profit programs and “community-led activities” will replace policing. Why? Well, according to the resolution, the Seattle Police Department perpetuates racism and violence. Oh, yes, and it’s a vehicle of white supremacy. It's typical 'woke' nonsense, and it's a cancer that's killing America.

Aren't they a collectively bargained contract?
Would this not mean they are still obligated to pay them, and possibly their pensions too? After all, every person on the force could stipulate they intended to serve until they "did their 20-25 years".
Seattle has another problem, and it's going to be the massive increase in insurance premiums for both individuals and businesses that are coming soon.
I'm not sure Portland could even find a company that would underwrite any policy there.

Well, the Federal Government's job is to coordinate a republic of states that each may try their own experiments as to how to be governed. Seattle/Washington apparently will be trying a different approach. I feel they may regret it. I also hope they don't come to me as a Federal Income Tax payer to cover the costs of the cleanup.

If law enforcement disappears from the city, any resident of Seattle can choose to arm himself and shoot anyone threatening him or his family. Who’s going to arrest him on a gun charge? A social worker with a clipboard?

Since Seattle will have no police force, people can throw their tax bills in the trash, refuse to show for jury duty or subpoena, ignore the City Council's edicts, thrash the City Council members with impunity.

Might as well get rid of ambulances too. They are very expensive and carry lots of drugs and equiptment. I can imagine they can get called out just to rob-maybe even kill the workers. Ambulances do not come out unprotected by the police. Might as well get rid of 911 too. Who would come. Seattle is beaytiful but it aint great enough for this.

Could anyone have ever dreamed that Seattle will look 100 times worse than Detroit in about 6 months??? Burnt out shells of buildings. Destroyed businesses. Homeless people pooping in the streets everywhere. Only the drug dealers and gangs thriving. The constant sounds of gunshots.
And, sadly, the few people that remain will still vote for evil Demon-Rats in every election!!!

I can see the real estate market crashing as the rich homeowners sell out and flee in fear of their safety as well as a huge decrease in tourism for the same reason. The only way to make up for all the lost revenue is to raise taxes on all those that are left.

This is preposterous and ridiculous. The is precisely what you get when you elect hard-left young people with no practical or business experience to your city council. The Republicans need to hold up Seattle as an example of democrat lawlessness administration vs. Republican law-and-order administration.

But look at all the money Seattle politicians will have. They won’t have to pay for the police. They could use the extra cash for new roads. Upgrade the transit system. Redo the business district. Build another Ferris wheel. So many projects to do with all that extra cash. Dontcha just love it!

There's no fixing stupid. Seal off our military bases as in Gitmo and Area 51, and let them turn themselves into a living nightmare of unrequited crime. Study them as they collapse, as we would study a disease, to try to determine how people can become so abysmally stupid. A ghastly social dynamics experiment...but they obviously want that...so let them have that.

There are two separate areas in Washington, divided by the Cascade Mountains. The left side, affectionately described as West of the Mountains. The east side is prairie, grass, hay. There were hundreds of Trump signs on the east side. People there are more "down to earth." The east side never wins in an election because Seattle takes the majority of votes. Olympia, the Capitol, is infested with liberal crazies. One of the universities specializes in teaching students to be "protesters." Name escapes me...Evergreen maybe. I left the NW when I was 18. I go back "home" in the summer. I would never ever live there again. My son lives in Tacoma, Pierce county.Seattle used to struggle with unemployment. Boeing was an on-again-off-again employee. Didn't want to make potato chips in Nalley Valley so left and joined the Navy. Been living in Louisiana for 50 years. Bones will rot here. Seattle ... the Land of Odz.

A few years ago, Amazon called to offer me a high paying job in Seattle. I tried to convince them that I can go the job at home in Florida. But Amazon said "No", so I said "No". Two days after I said "No", an employee jumped out of the HQ window. Never regretted the decision.

When the death and destruction go vertical, every 'progressive' liberal rat voter for life will NOT be honest about bringing this on themselves. They will be even more deranged about orange man bad. As they are killed and their possessions stolen or destroyed they will whine about the uncaring Republicans not saving them from themselves. The minority who do get a crash course in common sense and reality are doomed to suffer along with the fools who brought this.

I’ve been to Seattle many times on business trips over the last 20 years and remember when it was a lovely city and area. My last visit was October of last year and I was stunned by the deterioration.
There are homeless encampments in the median of Interstate 5! Imagine driving along at 65 mph and having a drugged out bum stumble out in front of your car. With no police or ambulances as pointed out by #17, will the interstate become littered with dead and diseased bodies?
I always have stayed with a dear and conservative friend there and she now has homeless tent cities within 2 blocks of her home in her once beautiful neighborhood. She says that she can’t even leave an umbrella in her car or one of the homeless will break the windows and steal it. I keep inviting her to come to South Carolina for her own safety but she has spent her entire life in Seattle and doesn’t want to leave. I pray for her safety.

Excellent plan. PLEASE do it.
People need to learn what they are voting for if they vote Demonrat. Death, arson, violence, looting and anarchy every where -- THAT is what the Dems are offering.
Will people still vote for this after a taste of the "nirvana" that they offer?
