President Trump on Thursday suggested delaying the 2020 elections, something he does not have the power to do unilaterally, as he levied fresh attacks against mail-in voting. (Snip) "With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history," Trump tweeted. "It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???"

Given the usual effect of Trump Derangement Syndrome on the Democrats, Never-Trumpers, and the Media, I expect the election to take place right on time, regardless of any possible mitigating circumstances.

Finally a grammatically correct headline. Asking a question is not a suggestion however powerful the person asking. Even Rush botched this today though Limbaugh did 'ask' if the question itself was Trump at his provocateur best.

I just listened to Rush explain what I believe is the correct reading of this ''tweet'' and I'd have said the same thing if I had a chance to say it.

First, people are stupid. A question with three question marks raises a question, not an idea. Those who understand Trump know that sometimes you propose the preposterous end of things to get people to come back to the reasonable place. What is really saying is that we should hold an honest election. Nobody with a brain thinks otherwise.

This is the reason for Trump's tweet......"U.S. economy plunges at titanic 32.9% rate in 2nd quarter and points to drawn-out recovery"

I didn't notice Trump saying he would unilaterally change anything about the election. You don't start a conversation without suggesting an idea. Don't you just love hw they imagine Trump has thought and ideas they have to express for him, because he never says them?

Dems want to steal the election, so delay it as long as it takes to keep them from doing whatever they intend. Heck! Slappy Maxie may be right, after all.

President Trump was simply shaking the Democrats chains and to get the so-called mainstream (liberal) media talking, that is sure to bring up the question of mass fraud to the American electorate, through universal mail in ballot schemes that are being pushed by the Democrats.
After all the talking the election will proceed as scheduled.

Threatening to delay the vote may be the fastest way to end the 'pandemic'.

Sigh. Tweets that have to be explained, clarified or interpreted by the faithful are an unhelpful distraction at very best. This suggestion should come from outside the government, not a beneficiary of delay.

Suggest we delay the election until a vaccine for the corona virus is made. Is't that the democrat answer to most other things.

If Democrats were considering whether a delay could work to their advantage, it's now off the table since President Trump has floated the idea first. I believe it was a deliberate maneuver to guarantee the election is held right on time and before the horror of all the "peaceful" protests has had time to fade from voter's memories.

"I believe it was a deliberate maneuver to guarantee the election is held right on time" by Jack Ryan, above - absolutely spot on. That, and PDJT has an evil sense of humor and loves trolling his opponents.

The ideal voting procedure, and a lot of places do this, is to go to the voting booth with your photo ID, compare it to the voting rolls that has your name, and then vote. The dems want the complete opposite of this. A procedure where you don't know for sure who actually cast the vote. The democrat party are crooks, imo.

The Presidentn would have to declare a national emergency in order to postpone the election. Maybe this fake pandemic can be used to his advantage. Prefer that America resort to the purple ink voting system like Iraq did after Saddam was dispatched.

Words mean things. Punctuation is used as an aid to the understanding and appropriate reading of written text. President Trump’s tweet, based on the text and punctuation, does not imply a mandate, a directive, a suggestion—it raises a question. Shamefully, time and again, politicians and mainstream media misinterpret and misrepresent what President Trump says or does.
