WASHINGTON—The annual meeting of world leaders at the United Nations is going virtual this year for the first time in its 75-year history because of the COVID-19 pandemic — except for the likely personal appearance by President Donald Trump.“We’re hoping that President Trump will actually be speaking in person in the General Assembly,” Kelly Craft, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, said Thursday, adding that he will be “the only” leader to speak in the assembly chamber. In past years, thousands of people have flocked to New York for the annual meeting of world leaders at the General Assembly, known as the General Debate. During the weeklong gathering, presidents,

I hope President Trump's speech is short and sweet and says: As of noon today, The US withdraws membership in the UN and the UN has 30 days to vacate the US.

#1 beat me to my comment. Great minds think alike and I'm sure there are millions of other great minds across our land. Let us pray one of them is Donald Trump. It would be a great location for the Trump Presidential Library.

Since the UN is proving that they don't need that huge and expensive piece of property in NYC, President Trump needs to announce that we are taking back the land, and the UN can meet using ZOOM meetings from now on. And we can also take back all the members expensive houses in NYC too since they won't need to come to this country any more. No more rich spoiled foreign criminals claiming "diplomatic immunity" every time they flaunt our laws!!! Wow, something really, really positive to come out of the Coronavirus after all!!!!!

Obama Defends Mob Rule 4 replies

President Barack Obama’s address at the funeral of Representative John Lewis in Atlanta on Thursday, for the most part, was a moving tribute to a courageous pioneer in the civil rights movement. The total immersion in beatific praise that was accorded to the congressman throughout his prolonged itinerary between his physical death and actual burial was doubtless substantially deserved. (It does not allow for his dismissal of President Trump as “illegitimate,” and other reflections that were unseemly coming from a man so much praised for his graciousness and civility.)But embedded in Obama’s eloquent eulogy were reflections on the current political condition of the United States that were untrue

The argument against being forced to wear protective face masks was summed up by one young woman in a short but scathing video.Twitter users gave the woman a virtual standing ovation and agreed that her anti-mask rant won the internet after the video was shared by YouTuber Jordan Sather. (Tweet/Video) “Oh! My apologies. I just got back from a full day of being a good person,” the unidentified woman in the video quipped as she removed the face mask.“I love my mask!” she enthusiastically added, saying it was a “simple yet effective way to display my righteousness.”

President Donald Trump’s campaign manager called Monday for more presidential debates, saying that they should begin earlier than planned.During an interview with “Fox & Friends” Monday morning, Bill Stepien said that the current debate schedule, which is set to begin Sept. 29, will prevent voters in early-voting states from seeing the two candidates go head-to-head before casting their ballots.“We want more debates, we want debates starting sooner,” Stepien, who took over as Trump’s campaign manager last month, said.“First debate is scheduled for Sept. 29, by that time 16 states already will have voted.

On his way to a hearing last week, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler was in a car accident.Thankfully, the New York pol was unhurt. But the accident caused Mr. Nadler to be an hour late to the hearing.Watching Mr. Nadler during that hearing, which starred Attorney General William Barr, you might think he had hit his head in the accident. But, alas, Mr. Nadler was already that dumb. Even before the accident, he was severely damaged goods. That said, it is always unwise to underestimate Mr. Nadler. Just ask House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, the slender California Democrat with a long neck.

CHICAGO — She’s too ambitious. She’s not apologetic enough. She should smile more. The debate over Joe Biden’s running mate has recently ticked through a familiar list of stereotypes about women in politics as the Democratic presidential candidate and his allies stumble through a search they had hoped would stand out for its inclusion and diversity. Instead, the vice presidential vetting has resurfaced internal party divisions between the old-guard establishment and a younger generation that’s more attuned to gender and racial biases and willing to speak out. Some contend it’s just more evidence of why Biden needs a woman on his ticket.

Venezuela has the world’s highest murder rate because the police there don’t stop murder unless it helps politics. So long as homocide doesn’t threaten the power or wealth of the governing party, murders are largely unsolved and are often committed by the very police who should be preventing them. As Business Insider reports, in Venezuela murders happen with “widespread impunity” because of “the complete [dysfunction] of the judicial system that allows for a significant degree of impunity for some, usually high-profile, offenders, and, as a result, disregard for the law, because it’s selectively applied.”

A disconnect appears to have arisen between the Food and Drug Administration and a sizable number of physicians when it comes to prescribing hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19 patients. The situation garnered extra attention last week when a group of physicians billing themselves as America’s Frontline Doctors insisted that the drug could treat COVID-19 in a high-profile press conference in Washington. Clips of the event went viral on social media before being blocked on some platforms as misinformation. At the root of the disconnect is a medical practice known as "off-label prescribing.""Let doctors be doctors," said Dr. Alieta Eck,

Joe Biden has delayed naming his vice presidential pick by two weeks amid worries the process has become a mess that has pitted women against woman. Biden said last week he would announce his running mate the first week of August but that appears unlikely to happen this week as he hasn't narrowed down his pick amid pressure to name a black woman. But now that's been moved back by two weeks, The Washington Post reported, amid worries from Biden supporters that the process has become 'messier than it should be,' pitting women - and especially black women - against one another.

Twitter users jumped on the Epstein-Clinton connection, however, particularly in the context of the media trying to bury the story because it reflects poorly on Clinton specifically and Democrats generally. Shutting things down “for a month or six weeks” would allow the nation’s case count to get low enough that the government’s testing and contact tracing efforts could effectively contain future spreading, Kashkari said,
