A new study, released by the CDC on July 10, finds that the median age of death where COVID-19 is involved is 78. Americans from our earliest days as a nation have rejected authority, especially when it seems arbitrary and comes from government that seems out of touch with ordinary citizens. Such a domain of authority is extremely delicate when it involves the powers of police to protect public order and safety. Collective large group consciousness and unconsciousness embraces and grants permission for such use of force by the police.

Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) announced that her dog Bailey "is definitely going to vote in November," and Warren said Bailey is "voting Democrat all the way." "Bailey for Biden!" Warren cheered. And Bailey is just the type of low-information voter the Democrats depend upon. For the record, Warren never said she was joking. Let's hope Warren is less serious about her dog being a registered Democrat than she was about herself being an American Indian. It'd all be less scary if Democrats weren't currently doing everything they can to make voter fraud easier this November

Commentators came out of the woodwork to ridicule President Donald Trump for allegedly turning his July 14 press conference into a campaign rally (and for being unpresidential). So what if he did? They objected that he veered into other topics when he was supposed to be talking about China and Hong Kong. Horrors! The press corps, of all people, has no standing to complain about topic drift at presidential press conferences when it routinely uses such events to ask questions unrelated to the announced topic. Presidents always frame their policy positions in the most favorable political light, especially this close to an election. Don't even think about saying Trump is unique on this.

Joe Biden owes his nomination to black Democrats, who never joined the revolution led by Sen. Bernie Sanders, closed ranks around the former vice president, and overpowered the rest of the Democratic coalition to rescue his candidacy. But Biden is struggling with black men and younger black voters and Democrats know the votes of black Americans will become more difficult with each future election. Many black Americans feel taken for granted by the party and have become increasingly disillusioned with politics and politicians in general. In particular, younger non-white voters consider Biden an out of step relic from an era of leadership they believe failed them

As I heard from several reporters who covered this story, the New York Times owned it.

Progressives like to brag that they prize science over politics. Indeed, it’s a major talking point in their effort to “transform” America from the greatest nation on Earth to, well, something else. But one look at the debate over reopening schools this fall shows just how absurd that assertion really is. Los Angeles, home to the nation’s second-largest school district, is a case in point. The city has long been governed by far-left Democrats, to its detriment. But the local teachers’ union really takes the cake when it comes to extremist positions on COVID-19 and school closures. Trump’s edge on this question has remained fairly consistent over time.” This is far more than mere statistical curiosity by number nerds.
