Americans must have a healthy fear

Americans from our earliest days as a nation have rejected authority, especially when it seems arbitrary and comes from government that seems out of touch with ordinary citizens. Such a domain of authority is extremely delicate when it involves the powers of police to protect public order and safety. Collective large group consciousness and unconsciousness embraces and grants permission for such use of force by the police.

Change the word fear to respect and I'll agree.

The police have gotten away with a lot. So have the prosecutors, and the judges. I have been naive. Then I learned about prosecutorial discretion from Obama. And from Trump's term, double jeopardy, not really, as they can try in the state and the federal jurisdictions. Attorney client privilege seems to have considerable shortcomings, if the client is Trump, and the attorney's office can be raided. If you worked for Trump, dawn raids by SWAT for made up process crimes have occurred. Our FBI sent 15 agents to investigate a rope to open a garage door, but no one sent for a lady calling in about someone about to shoot up a school, lunch you know. Our police were sworn to uphold the law, but when the mayor said don't enforce the law, they obeyed an illegal order. That doesn't earn much respect. The leadership seems to have no principles, morals, or ethics. All the FBI leadership has been fired. The DOJ should be, and so should the police chiefs, mayors, and most of the governors. The jails have been emptied. The police no longer arrest anyone for property crime. Like Seinfeld once asked, have you ever caught anyone for that? No. Actually, there are some good police, and even a few at the FBI, but they shouldn't expect to be promoted. The country is ran by the Democrats, a criminal organization, so you need to be barren of conscience to rise.

In democrat run cities, there is no fear that The Man is gonna come and take you away. There is no respect for men and women in blue, not even from the democrat/communist mayors and governors. Now Joe Biden has hitched his wagon to defund the police. The silent majority needs to make a statement in November!

Exactly how NYC dropped its crime rate during the Giuliani mayoralty. The police weren't shooting everyone but they proactively enforced the law.

On the rare occasion of having to interact with police (asking about a policy or a task- Ive not had a ticket or anything since 1975) I found them universally accusatory and offensive. I resent being talked to like a felon, especially I initiated the conversation and when the reason for the discussions had nothing to do with me doing anything "wrong". Lose the attitude, please. Not everybody is a perp.

When Americans fear their government (police) you have a tyranny. When government 'fears' the citizenry you have a Republic. Only criminals should fear the police.
The corruption has run so deep every citizen is at risk. Just look at what they are still trying to do to the President. The three letter agencies need to be emptied - there's no 'reasonable' extrapolation from what the constitution grants the government in the way of authority, to what these agencies do, without requiring a constitutional amendment which didn't happen because the commies were in control when the agencies were created.
That needs to be fixed.

Let's see, who wants a job whereby every time you'll called you pretty much see people at their worst behavior. Deal with that on a daily basis for years and see how it affects you. Not condoning bad police behavior, but the job is not for the weak minded.

One more for respect, Dr. Olsson. Not fear. Respect - for authority.
It's been the end game all along . . . erode respect for authority. For our parents, our churches, our institutions. For our own bodies and unborn children. It's all "of a piece". Police were just next on the list.

This one disagrees, a little. There is no "healthy" fear of police. Understand the Game... Police are trained to push all the "Fear" buttons. Voice, Posture, Pose, Hand on Weapon. In a predictable, escalating sequence. Every single "Fear" button that can be found and identified by the very best social scientists is used in interactions with the public. Why? To gain compliance. To gain compliance through psychology is preferred to gaining compliance through blood and death. Understand the game. Respect the power and authority of the state and there is no reason for any fear. At least, in a "normal" interaction. Teaching your children to "fear" police is the wrong path. Teach them instead righteous values.
