After Reparations Study Suggests
$151 Million for Each African American,
Experts Say Money Alone Isn't Enough

While debates around reparations for the descendants of slaves often focus on costs of such action, advocates believe discussions must also address other efforts for systemic change. Financial estimates are wide-ranging depending on how they are projected and thoughts on what exactly will, or even can be paid for are also divided. "Reparations is not a check in the mail," Raymond Winbush, author of Should America Pay? Slavery and The Raging Debate on Reparations and Belinda's Petition: A Concise History of Reparations For The Transatlantic Slave Trade, told Newsweek. This can never happen, not simply because it is ludicrous and will bankrupt the.country. What about blacks that came here after the Emancipation Proclamation? What about mixed race people? Does Oprah get the same amount? Why should decendants of abolitionists or Yankees have to be punished? Shame on democrats for exploiting blacks and keeping them poor and on their plantations in the inner cities. They do not want them to be educated, get married, or interact with whites because that might make them see they've been used and make them more likely to vote Republican.

I guess they want every African American to have their plantation and his cotton-pickers. And I don't blame most of the African Americans. I blame the multi-millionaires and billionaires that plan their own Global super-plantations with the BLM, AntiFa and MS13 as their house slaves. Those are the people we should be planning to deal with now, while we can. These small fry activists are detestable little creeps but ultimately weak and easily countered, once we get the Progressives out of the way.

Does it seem horrible to suggest that every black that seeks reparations be required to visit their country of "origin" to see what their life would be like had their ancestors not been brought to this country as slaves and freed from slavery by a civil war which cost the lives of 300,000 American soldiers?

There are many who like the idea of this issue but knowing it's not likely to ever happen - it's a political issue. And, then there are others who also are afraid, that once reparations are paid, there will be no more programs or other things coming ever again.

Look what the English did to the Irish and Scottish Highlanders in olden days. I am of both Irish and Scottish ancestry of refugees who were forced to leave Ireland and Scotland for Canada, the Massachusetts Bay Colonies, and the USA. Are we going to take legal and legislative action against what is now the United Kingdom to pay reparations to the hundreds of millions of people around the world whose ancestors human rights, by today's standards, were violated by merry old England?

I am so sick and tired of hearing about what blacks should ‘get.’ None were ever slaves, and most are not remotely related to anyone who was a slave. First generation immigrants who come to this country with nothing succeed through discipline, education and hard work. Why can’t African Americans do the same thing? I want an explanation for that.

My family's sacred honor is beyond any monetary award. To think that nickels and dimes could atone for all that happened in the past to people I don't even know or could locate pictures of is completely ludicrous. But if all your ancestors mean to you is money, then go for it. You are to be pitied.

If reparations aren’t enough, and they won’t be, how about public executions of the now distant relatives of the slave owners? Ancestry.com could identify most of the thousands of individuals whose relatives owned slaves prior to 1863. The executions could begin with those who owned more than a 1,000 slaves and then work downward. If it is somehow fair to pay people for what occurred 150 to 400 years ago, why not make those far removed from those events but who can be linked to them, pay the ultimate price? BLM and Antifa thugs could serve as executioners, with the heads of victims placed on the now empty pedestals of those we once honored.

How about we give all that money to the families of the Union Army soldiers who gave their lives to (ostensibly) "free the slaves?" They gave their all and got nothing for it. And by the way, what about all the Irish, Dutch, Scott, Welsh, and even British men and children slaves, who were captured and brought here before Africans? Whites were worth LESS than blacks, since they came to the colonies free of charge, and routinely got worked to death. Let's have that "conversation" about colonial slavery, shall we? However, I suggest the Black Communists Matter terrorists read up on WHITE slavery in Europe including the Barbary pirates before opening their chitterling holes.

This is the worst of many really bad ideas. There is no means for justice down this avenue, and most of the troublemakers know that. The raise the expectation of blacks to a level so high that it can only lead to disappointment. When the dream is over and the day has dawned it will be time to get up and go to work. That is not to say this is no valid claim that is being raised. There is and there are laws already in place that address the root of this claim. It is the laws against discrimination based on race. If there is a legitimate complaint fill suit and prove the case. Any other approach must neglect one side for the other. To do so is to slight the efforts of all those who fought for freedom of the slaves, the abolitionists, those who were there to bring about the civil rights laws, those immigrants who came here and were never involved in slavery, it denies the reality that no one in this country has been subjected to slavery or were ever involved in slavery - I could go on naming all who were never involved on either side of the issue and do not deserve to be lumped in with those who were and should not be punished for acts they were never committed. Those are the mitigating factors to any claim for reparations. Of course the feasibility of this issue is also a one sided affair. The actor I see show no care for what impact it would have on our country. Here's the thing to me. All this is based on having not been treated as equals under the law. But, again, there are existing laws that provide a means to address that on an individual basis. But that's an aside, To be equal under the law is to act lawful and the are not doing so. It is to accept the answers that have been developed through our system of government. That form of government works as seen by the civil rights laws and the laws against discrimination. If that is not good enough then work through the system But this all stirring the pot seems to hinge on the one thing they can not have as it stands. They will still be only 13% of the country and it will probably shrink because of abortion and fatherless children. And you cannot buy that. Instead I think they are producing a terrible resentment against themselves. At some point the answer has to be no. No more.It is becoming childish. To say $151 mil, is not enough and they want more is to say this wanting has no end ... time to say - no, and deal with it.

But their ancestors, and those who emigrated here over the years since then, are still better off than being in any other country in the world. Why do they think they're entitled to ANYTHING? A joint lawsuit filed by an Orange County teacher and parent, whose kids are enrolled in the school district, was filed Sunday. It asks a judge to intervene and stop districts from conducting face-to-face learning. The lawsuit states that the school district doesn’t have enough resources to follow CDC guidelines for reopening, including social distancing in classrooms and safe transportation for students. The suit says that the Orange County school board is being forced to reopen in August to avoid the risk of losing state funding and

Two women – Jennifer Eckhart, who worked for Fox, and Cathy Areu, who was an occasional guest on Fox shows – filed a lawsuit in Federal court accusing Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Howard Kurtz, Gianno Caldwell, and Ed Henry of a wide range of alleged sexual misconduct. (snip) the accusations against Carlson are ridiculous, and it’s these charges that are the subject of this post. Superficially, Areu accuses Carlson of ordering his employees to restrain her in a chair, so that he could solicit her for sex. Then, when she rebuffed him, he dumped her as a guest.

Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich is reportedly gearing up to speak at the Democratic National Convention — what there will be of it — to support Joe Biden over President Trump. It is the natural conclusion of the presidential run he flamed out of in 2016. That Kasich has retroactively inserted himself into the Republican resistance to Trump is a masterful grift from start to finish. It was Kasich, after all, who made Trump's win possible in the 2016 primary. Despite having no shot at victory (he wasn't alone in this), he stayed in well past his expiration date, further splintering the anti-Trump vote. If anything,

Portland is still engulfed by antifa violence (as the Democrats side with the violent rioters), America’s history and heritage is under direct and unapologetic assault, covid hysteria is still hamstringing the nation’s economic life and prosperity, and on Monday, Joe Biden offered an all-purpose remedy: “One of the things I think is important, I wish we taught more in our schools about the Islamic faith.” I’ll bet you’re wishing you had thought of that. Biden’s prescription for what ails us came during a bout of intensive Islamopandering he engaged in while addressing the “Million Muslim Votes Summit,” a call hosted by Emgage Action,

The America-the-Terrible disease has now invaded baseball, the sport that to this point had mostly avoided the current race obsession that threatens to turn the American melting pot into a pressure cooker. In a Monday evening exhibition game between the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland Athletics, Giants manager Gabe Kapler and several of his players and coaches took a knee or otherwise signaled their belief in what a racist country America is during the playing of the National anthem. Various other teams and players have signaled their intention to go along with the insanity when MLB begins play this week and signal in various ways their disapproval of the country

The Black Lives Matter movement and the subsequent riots by Antifa, the Democrat party’s domestic terrorist arm, have shown Americans what leftism is -- an ugly combination of social and government coercion, racism, violence, and anti-Americanism. (snip) BLM protests have revealed the damage that decades of leftist messaging have visited on straight, young, white women. To set the stage, here are some videos of the hysterical, young, white women who keep showing up in the front row of the Black Lives Matter movement, whether screaming at police, arguing with black people, rioting, or groveling

A transgender man is suing the University of Maryland Medical System in federal court, claiming his rights were violated when his gender-affirming surgery was canceled by one of the hospital system's subsidiaries. Jesse Hammons was scheduled to have a hysterectomy in January at the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson. The procedure, routinely performed on cisgender women at the same hospital, was deemed medically necessary for Hammons, who had been diagnosed with gender dysphoria. However, about a week before the scheduled surgery date, the center canceled the procedure because it “conflicted with the hospital’s Catholic religious beliefs

WASHINGTON — Against the backdrop of protests across the country over police shootings of unarmed Black people and racial disparities, some mayors and local officials are proposing ways to examine the impact of slavery and help atone for it, including reparations. From Providence to Asheville, N.C., local officials have proposed measures to begin to address years of what they call injustices in their communities. The measures range from resolutions to support studying reparations to proposals funneling more funds into programs for Black communities. “It’s always the right time to do the right thing,” said Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza, noting the

New York City’s progress fighting the coronavirus is doing little to help retailers, who say business in the city that never sleeps has become worse than anywhere else in the country.National retailers — from Shake Shack, Applebees, and cap seller Lids — say their Big Apple stores are bouncing back slower than even neighboring states like New Jersey and Pennsylvania, which were also hard hit by the coronavirus. The problem, sources say, is Manhattan, which used to be teeming with tourists and commuters who have largely stayed away since the coronavirus pandemic hit in March. Wealthy Manhattanites also have more resources and flexibility to escape, indefinitely, to greener pastures,

The left continued to spread the narrative that President Donald Trump may refuse to leave the White House if he loses the election in November. And left-wing political commentator and Young Turks host Cenk Uygur added to the conspiracy theories on Tuesday as he, too, offered a way to rid the country of the president in case the United States military “does not remove him from office” after a supposed loss in November. (Photo) The host of the progressive online talk show and a failed congressional candidate, Uygur tweeted his vow to personally “go to Washington” to remove Trump, furthering the left’s fantasy that the president will lose his reelection

NFL fans will be required to wear protective face masks while attending games this fall due to the coronavirus pandemic. Several NFL teams, including the Cleveland Browns, had already announced individual mandates for face masks. The league’s 32 franchises are preparing to play games with reduced attendance levels this fall. “For those wondering, yes, it is league-wide: fans at NFL games this season will be required to wear face coverings,” a league spokesperson, Brian McCarthy, tweeted Wednesday. (Tweet) The NFL said it would determine which teams would be able to host fans on a case-by-case basis according to guidance from

The gun Patricia McCloskey waved at protesters was inoperable when it arrived at the St. Louis police crime lab, but a member of Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner's staff ordered crime lab experts to disassemble and reassemble it and wrote that it was “readily capable of lethal use” in charging documents filed Monday, 5 On Your Side has learned. In Missouri, police and prosecutors must prove that a weapon is “readily” capable of lethal use when it is used in the type of crime with which the McCloskeys have been charged.
