The National Museum for African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) has removed its controversial chart on whiteness from one of its webpages, telling people on Thursday that it didn't contribute to a "productive conversation" about racial issues.
"Since yesterday, certain content in the 'Talking About Race' portal has been the subject of questions that we have taken seriously. We have listened to public sentiment and have removed a chart that does not contribute to the productive discussion we had intended," the museum said in a statement.
Fox News reported yesterday that some described the chart as racist since it categorized things like "decision-making" and "delayed gratification" as part of whiteness.

But even if they do withdraw the chart that lists all the NEGATIVE characteristics of WHITENESS, we still need to see the chart that lists all the POSITIVE characteristics of BLACKNESS, don’t we? I mean it’s only fair. Hey, I know Sam Dorman! I’m going to call him.

Someone at Lucianne's is jokin' with us with their spelling of bazaar, but I heard Rush discussing this subject on his show yesterday and voiced our opinion when he said it was insulting to imply that those qualities are not present in everyone, regardless of skin color.

Whites plan for the future and delay gratification, no wonder they have privilege. This stuff is sick, individuals have no more place in this country it's all generalizations about groups and identity politics. Please make it stop.

It's nice that you took down the infograghic, NMAAHC.
Now what are you going to do about the people
spreading this poison?
Further,
Isn't The National Museum for African American History and Culture
rather, segre-mental?
All all,
You didn't build that (American History and Culture)...
I hear.

Help me out here...do black people not get it yet? What is the obvious inference of that incredibly racist chart? Answer: the leftists/Democrats believe that the main characteristics of blackness are the exact opposite of what was on that chart.
THAT is what the Democrat Party thinks of you and your culture. Remember that on November 3.

Amazing what one segment on the Rush Limbaugh Show will do! Now what about the Smithsonian that apparently is still propagating this crap?
The real problem is that they can pull the segment off the website, but the attitude prevails and if I had to make a bet is probably being taught to our children at college orientations about white privilege. Heck, there's probably a semester class teaching that garbage.

My planned contact with The National Museum for African American History and Culture is destined to be limited to driving past it with a glance in that direction.
Not a very attractive building, but I am sure it was architecturally designed to be purposefully "different"--meaning it doesn't seem to fit in with all of the surrounding structures.

And where is the National Museum for White History and Culture? Or the White Caucus in Congress, or the White Better Business Bureau? Just asking....and I'd have to agree that decision-making and delayed gratification is part of whiteness. Sorry brothers...that's probably why there aren't so many fatherless homes with baby producing mothers and rampant family problems....

There are a lot of white people who fit these descriptions, but a lot who do not. That is why racist stereotyping is wrong. What would be the response if "black culture" were described as gansta-rap-loving fried chicken-eaters?

This was unbelievably racist. What was implicit, but not stated, were the alternatives to these ‘white’ traits listed in a column labeled ‘black traits’.

It basically repeated the offensive stereotypes used by elitist whites to justify calling blacks the 'N' word.
These idiots were putting out white supremacist talking points, then owning it!
And they're in charge of a museum?!?

I've posted this before. White privilege is when you are born you get an education, next you work as a youth at menial jobs to gain skill and dexterity at the job. You aspire to have a family raise that family and live in a home that you and your family choose while working, desiring a good life for as long as you live. Is this wrong? Blacks should try this and get some 'black privilege'.
The problem is blacks hold each other down. If a black gets an education raises a family and works he's branded as an Uncle Tom sellout or a house ni**er to the white man. Stepping away from your own race might get you killed. Blacks don't respect one another they don't and won't fit into society by their own choosing they only live in a constant state of grievances and gripes they create their own mess.
Blacks praise Mother Africa and call themselves African American when if you spin a globe on the teacher's desk they couldn't find the 'black continent'. A National Black Museum a black would loot and burn that too if they desire because they have no pride in anything. Give me a break this is a tiring subject.

Of course its true. That is why no one wants to hire “those people” or accept them into school. They will slow down the other kids. Don’t want the others to do well and ruin the curve. At last, proof of what David Duke said all along.

Living in northern Europe vs living in a more southerly place forced the people to work hard during the short summer to store up supplies for the long winter. In the south that was much less necessary because there were no winters to survive. Its just how it was.

When I read stuff like this, I am reminded of how far removed the Democrat party is from God. God wants us to be reliant on Him and not ourselves. Yes, we are to work diligently etc. but we are to be following in His ways and not the earthly ways. In reading the Bible, it applies to all people. So, yes, I am reminded quite often how the Democrat party just doesn't get God.

Well, it’s just a matter of time until someone turns the tables on this info graphic of their own with the caption: “The ways black people and their traditions, attitudes and ways of life have normalized over time and are now considered standard practices in the United States.”
Where to begin with the generalizations?
High illegitimacy rates; criminal recidivism; drug addiction; anti-intellectualism; misogyny; disregard of rules and laws; instant gratification; impulsive actions/reactions; entitlement mentality; lack of shame; irrationality; lack of responsibility; unhealthy diet/obesity; etc, etc, etc.
Of course not every black person shares these traits. At the same time, anyone regardless of skin color can be either guilty of the above or share the traits listed attributed to ‘white people’, according to Judith Katz (the author of the original graphic). That’s the danger of labeling an entire group, without considering the individual. One, it’s inaccurate. Two, it’s dangerously divisive and tribal. Three, it will ultimately dehumanize your perceived opponent and then you’ve become the very thing you’re railing against.
Above all else, remember our humanity. That should be the common denominator that unites us, rather than seeking the differences that divide us.

Does this mean they changed their minds about having a conversation?
Or was it decided that telling the truth was 'counterproductive?' A non-truth (lie) would be better?

It is important to note that all of the virtues being labeled as "white" are virtues that will help anybody to succeed and prosper in life. Unfortunately, there is a self destructive belief that doing anything that might be considered "white" is the worst thing a "black" person can do. Saying a black person is "acting white" is a condemnation in many circles. By shunning doing what will help them succeed and prosper, blacks can be their own worst enemy.
Hopefully, the NMAAHC is removing the chart because the truth is that good ideas do not have a color.
