Jamaal Bowman has defeated veteran Rep. Eliot Engel, unseating the powerful chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee in a stunning upset, according to the Associated Press. Bowman, a progressive former middle school principal backed by the Justice Democrats, triumphed over Engel, a 16-term congressman, more than three weeks after the New York Democratic primary took place on June 23.(Snip) Bowman declared victory the day after the primary but Engel’s campaign was counting on a record number of mail-in ballots cast amid the pandemic to help him overcome his challenger’s commanding lead.
But Bowman’s lead expanded during the weeks-long counting

No doubt AOC backed candidate. This group is dangerous.

Even more insane people coming to Congress from NY. At what point do the northeastern and left coast have nothing at all in common with the center and southern part of the country?

The bad news is that this (is) an AOC backed candidate. The good news is that it is making the 'Rat Party more and more unviable in the main stream.

It'll be fun when the left-wing kooks start toppling Dem candidates for Senate and governor. Will NY go full Marxist?

Wow! It's going to be a mad race to see who can elbow his or her way to the aisle - - when the president enters to give the state of the union address.
Engel has been unbeatable for decades at getting in front of the camera first. It just won't seem like an SOTU - - without Eliot's mug at the front of the line.

One by one the old liberal Democrats are going to loose their seats to the new progressives and socialists as the old liberal Democrats have no credible defense. They have been “faking out” the minority groups for their votes with slogans like “Hope and Change” before every election without ever delivering. In that respect President Trump has done more for minority groups in three and a half years then the old line liberal Democrats like Joseph Biden have done in over forty years. More and more minorities have figured out the liberal Democrat political deceit and trickery.

I was hoping that an extremist dem in the running would wake up the constituency. However, no Republican has a prayer of winning this district so it's a foregone conclusion that the idiot barkeep will have another marxist in Congress to assist with her attempted overthrow of the republic.

Good for NY.
Remember when AOC said in most countries Biden and her wouldn't be in the same party. She's right, and the Progressives are pushing harder to clean out anyone in the Dem party who is not extreme left-wing.
This is the type of attack they need in many of the other much closer to Republican House districts in NY, and see similar opportunity in Orange County California too.
Is Katie Porter that same type of socialist Democrat?
How about Harley Rouda who lives in high-end Laguna Beach, is he also a hard-core socialist?
What about Gil Cisneros, who actually won the CA lottery, then moved to one of the most conservative areas in OC, and in his House district boundaries, which includes a section of LA County, but is he a Democrat socialist too?
Mark Levin down in SD/OC border district who is running against Darrel Issa.
Of course, Nancy gave them all permission to lie, or do whatever they needed, to win. Fool them if you have to, but they all vote the extreme Progressive/Socialist agenda.

Unfortunately, there's no natural purgative for these extremist candidates in those districts. Unlike what has happened when a very conservative Republican has won a seat in a more pluralistic community, they don't usually win again. Or they quit. They lack the backing, meaning, moral support. And they usually lack enough money. Republicans succumb to in-fighting way too easily. Just look at Romney, one of the creepiest jerks I've ever seen, and orgs like the Lincoln Project.
Not quite sure if the Dem Party survives. It is being taken over, taken down, by leftists. Meanwhile far too many people do not understand the peril we are in, as a Nation. It's what i call "mindless apathy", not just not caring, it's not thinking, it's unreflective, naïve, lazy, ignorant and unwilling to stop being ignorant. These people are just as hazardous to our national survival as are the activist leftists because by means of their mental, ethical, spiritual inactivity they join the ranks of the "useful idiots."

Don't count out the Democrat machine of Cuomo and DiBlasio. New York is probably going to lose a congressional seat in the census. I'd bet serious money that the state legislature (aka Democrat old-guard) works it that AOC and Bowman end up in the same district and have to run against each other for re-election in 2022. But then again, AOC is talking about going after Schumer. Grab the popcorn and enjoy that show.

Jamaal is being called a progressive former middle school principal so we know he was in training for this run. ''He promises to cause trouble in Washington.'' I don't think they will let him join the witches' coven, but they can surely use him.

What happens when the Swampers stay around too long. This new guy sounds like trouble. But Engel was no angel.

Another black entering politics on the pretext of changing congress, however, with a hidden agenda of milking the system and the black communities for power and personal wealth.

Keep counting absentee ballots until you get the desired result. Another successful dry-run leading up to November. Oh, and step aside, stale saltine; this is a People of Color land now, just as you've been pushing for all these years.
