A 14-year-old boy was stabbed to death in a Bronx playground during a mass brawl in which a 17-year-old was also repeatedly stabbed, with at least five people taken into custody, according to cops and sources. Angel Mendoza was found with multiple stab wounds when police responded to the fight at Williamsbridge Oval Playground in Norwood just after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, the NYPD said. He was jumped by a group of at least seven others while he was holding up his hands, according to one friend and witness.

Comments:

I understand it was a religious dispute between the Amish and the Quakers. What's happening to this world?

It is summer Feral season in the city and they always seem to travel in packs. They feral packs who we often see remind me of the opening scenes of the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey where the apes learn to use bones as weapons. They have devolved into rabid packs of mindless animals.

The Amish are permitted to carry pocket and hunting knives but the Quakers are not so this logically defines the two sides. We need to crack down on those religious extremists before things get out of hand.

"A shocked 21-year-old resident said the playground — which was given a $10 million revamp in 2021 — was normally safe." Maybe he meant "Nominally safe"? In 2021, another 14-year-old boy was slashed in the Williamsbridge Oval, while in May this year, an 18-year-old man was shot dead just moments from the park. In June last year, a 66-year-old man was stabbed to death in the park,

A white post graduate student research assistant for a college professor friend was asked for money, and then attacked by two kids, after threatening him with a knife. He was stabbed in the abdomen, fortunately, not beyond about 2 inches deep, so he was able to walk a couple of blocks to the ER at the university hospital where he worked. he punched the one with the knife very hard, which ended the attack. I asked him about the "kids".....he said, "two black kids, about 11 or 12 year old, and I didn't take the little s***s seriously enough." He went and bought a gun the next week.

If I lived in the Bronx, I would do anything...anything to get the h*** out. Isn't that AOCs district? The parents took us kids to NYC. We saw the Empire State Building, The Statue of Liberty, ate at the Automat etc. That was 68 years ago. I am sure there was crime there like all big cities but the cops and DAs could do their jobs. Nothing would convince me to ever go back without being accompanied by Seal Team 6. That will never come up since I won't be going anyway and I feel sorry for those who don't have the means to leave.

It is tempting to write off entire cities these days, but all of America is OUR country. Every part of it contributed greatness at some point. Obviously, domestic enemies have fed a culture of depravity for generations. They should be stopped cold. Put everyone on notice that personal responsibility is mandatory and will be enforced. Too bad that stupid people throw their lives away early, but they must be publicly punished, along with the slobs who encouraged them to violence or who were too weak or uncaring to raise them. Reform schools, work camps, probation, deportation, education about the minimum expectations required to live in this country. It seems overwhelming considering the number of worthless people running around. Maybe it is. Maybe it is too far gone and spreading, but for goodness sake, before it all falls apart, can we give it a serious try? Can we stand up to the rot of media and much of government that created a garden of evil, and make the word on the street put the fear of consequences into the sick brains of the worst of us?

WASHINGTON — Lame-duck CBS late-night host Stephen Colbert showed Democratic Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker just how gerrymandered the Land of Lincoln is after dozens of Texas Dem legislators stalled redistricting in their own state by decamping to Pritzker’s domain. The face of “The Late Show” displayed a congressional map of Illinois during Pritzker’s appearance Tuesday night, highlighting one district that he said looked just like “the stinger on a scorpion.” “If you are considering doing a little more redrawing in Illinois, you already have some crazy districts in Illinois,” Colbert told the governor.

It’s been 50 years — and countless conspiracy theories — since Jimmy Hoffa first disappeared, and his case remains one of the most infamous and vexing unsolved mysteries in U.S. history. The ex-Teamsters boss left his cottage home in suburban Lake Orion, Mich., near Detroit on July 30, 1975 for a 2 p.m. meeting at the Machus Red Fox Restaurant in nearby Bloomfield Hills. He was reportedly gathering with a group of gangsters, including Anthony “Tony Pro” Provenzano, a New Jersey-based capo for the Genovese crime family, and Detroit mob boss Anthony “Tony Jack” Giacalone. The leftists who oppose discrimination against minorities, but favor “reverse discrimination” against other Americans to promote workplace “equity,” are about to lose a legal leg to stand on. The Supreme Court seems poised, in deciding Ames v. Marlean Ames alleged that she suffered employment discrimination as a heterosexual in an Ohio state agency that favored LGBTQ employees.

According to an Aug. 19 post on Truth Social, the president believes that museums are the “last remaining segment of ‘WOKE,’” and he wants to address the issue the same way his administration has treated colleges and universities. Trump pointed specifically to a Washington, D.C., icon as a demonstration of the issue, saying, “The Smithsonian is OUT OF CONTROL, where everything discussed is how horrible our Country is, how bad Slavery was, and how unaccomplished the downtrodden have been—Nothing about Success, nothing about Brightness, nothing about the Future.”

Like many businesses, Bed, Bath & Beyond is fleeing California. Unlike most, however, it's not slinking out quietly. It's letting the world know why it got the hell out of Dodge. In a publicly issued statement, its executive chairman, Marcus Lemonis, wrote: We will not open or operate retail stores in California. This decision isn’t about politics — it’s about reality. California has created one of the most overregulated, expensive, and risky environments for businesses in America. It’s a system that makes it harder to employ people, harder to keep doors open, and harder to deliver value to customers. The result?

The border wall separating the United States and Mexico is being painted black to make it too hot for migrants to climb. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem revealed the project was a specific request from Donald Trump as the president celebrated 'ZERO releases' of illegal migrants into the country. 'In the hot temperatures down here, when something is painted black it gets even warmer,' Noem said during a press conference in front of the wall on Tuesday. She noted the structure is already hard to climb and near impossible to dig under, but said Trump's latest measure will help to secure the American border even further.

As Muslim migration roils Europe, some Catholic bishops are starting to notice. “For decades, the Islamization of Europe has been progressing through mass immigration,” Polish Bishop Antoni Długosz said July 13, adding that illegal immigrants “create serious problems in the countries they arrive in.” Bishop Athanasius Schneider of Kazakhstan spoke more bluntly in March: “We’re witnessing an invasion. They are not refugees. This is an invasion, a mass Islamization of Europe.” Yet Pope Leo XIV lives in a different dimension. “In a world darkened by war and injustice . . . migrants and refugees stand as messengers of hope,” Leo said July 25.

It’s over. Texas has a new congressional map for the 2026 midterms, though it took over two weeks after state Democrats unnecessarily fled to prevent a quorum. The new map gives Republicans five winnable seats, all majority Hispanic districts. Democrats could’ve said, ‘ok, let’s fight for these voters who are gettable,’ but they decided to make a hash out of it. First, the messaging was abysmal, coupled with the fact that no one cared. Even the legacy press said these Texas Democrats ran away. They were off message from the get-go.
