Like many businesses, Bed, Bath & Beyond is fleeing California.
Unlike most, however, it's not slinking out quietly. It's letting the world know why it got the hell out of Dodge.
In a publicly issued statement, its executive chairman, Marcus Lemonis, wrote:
We will not open or operate retail stores in California.
This decision isn’t about politics — it’s about reality. California has created one of the most overregulated, expensive, and risky environments for businesses in America. It’s a system that makes it harder to employ people, harder to keep doors open, and harder to deliver value to customers.
The result?

Anyone living or doing business in California is out of their mind. We avoid that state like the black plague.

California is one of the "Lord of the flies" States. Hopelessly over its head when it comes to managing a society.

And Newsum thinks he can sell himself as presidential material to America when he has been running the state like this.
I think the contrast between Trump bringing in investment and jobs and Newsom chasing it out should be clear enough.

Maybe reality will finally bite CA when several gas refineries shut down next year. There is zero chance they will be replaced.

I'm sure the Dems in Sacramento are just saying that's okay, let them leave. We'll just tax everyone else more, and they'll keep doing this until the system finally breaks and/or the beleaguered citizens beg Trump to do something about it. You Dems constantly squawk about Trump and tyranny, well take a good look at California because that's what one-party tyranny looks like.

I USED to shop at Bed, Bath & Beyond but when they stopped carrying Mike Lindell's products I dumped them, as did a LOT of other people.
It is massive Karma that Bed, Bath & Beyond is leaving Leftist Californication when it is THEY that created their own problem by tying Politics to Business!

Guess they can convert all the storefronts and warehouses into nice little apartments for the illegals. That's right, ILLEGALS, not immigrants.

I saw Lemonis on NewsMax/Rob Schmidt last night. He took over BB&B about a year and a half ago, AFTER their decision to drop Mike Lindell. He said they do billion in CA in their online sales, so why get picked clean by shop lifters with CA's open season on brick and mortar stores? Lemons is one sharp cookie. If anyone can turn BB&B around, he can.

Me too, #7. The store in my town closed over a year ago. I actually thought that the entire company had gone out of business.

Sometime the well must go dry, before people come to their senses. Californians might learn that someday if they get thirsty enough. I hope the exodus continues. A major correction is needed in the worst way.

The BB&B store in our town closed last spring. Going woke and discontinuing Lindell's My Pillow products was the kicker IMO. Corporate suicide at its best. We'll soon see if Lemonis can salvage something out of the wreckage.

If "shoppers" are just going to steal whatever they want in California, why keep businesses open there? Same as others, I used to shop a lot at BBBY. Some thirteen years ago, I bought my first My Pillow there, and haven't spent another night without a My Pillow under my head. Lindell's products are all great, and I recommend them strongly. When BBBY stopped carrying Lindell's products, I never went back.

They should rebrand as "Bed, Bath, and Begone...Buh-Bye". Cool logo would be BB&BBB.

I used to shop there a lot but, after they took My Pillow products out, never put a foot inside again and won't even shop on line.

The one near us in what is a prosperous marketing area, stocked masses of junky m erchandise. Linens and Things had nicer linens at better prides. Appliancces were seriously overpriced. They would do dnotghing too facilitate warranty service on items that failed soon after purchase. er stores honored their coupons.
There is far more competition here than in some other parts of the country. If a store does a good job it will be fine. BB&B didn't. It appeared to be a big cluttered warehouse store full of stuff that was not selling - month after month. year after year.

California seems to have a talent for electing the worst politicians to office. One would think that they would not be so stupid as to drain the reservoir that provides the water to fight forest fires months before the annual forest fire season. As a result, vast areas of homes were burned to the ground. And, to make matters worse, the people were forced to go through a permitting nightmare before they could start to rebuild. Yet, they will vote again for the politicians who are the reason for their misery.

California is ruined.
Has exceeded its shelf life.
Only a major overhaul might save it.
Thanks to the devil rats in Sacramento.
