Party’s over. Connecticut’s popular Soundside Music Festival shocked fans when it abruptly cancelled its star-studded event two months before its opening day. “Due to circumstances beyond our control, [the] Soundside Music Festival has been cancelled,” organizers announced in a statement on the festival’s official website on Friday. “Tickets will be refunded to the original method of payment in as little as 30 days depending on your bank’s processing time.”

Comments:

The Festival lost most of its appeal - - when Jake Sullivan and Samantha Power dropped out. Their symposium - - Dispensing Foreign Aid - - was going to be the headline attraction.

I have only ever heard of One of these names. One. And that was when it was mentioned by Rick Beato.

Tickets were apparently $170 per person. Add in overpriced food, drinks, parking and you are looking at close to $250. A lot of these events are just not worth the cost.

There's a good chance I'm crossing over into old fogey territory, but I have never heard of most of those groups. No wonder they're having trouble selling tickets.

The reasons are definitely known, they just don't want to say, so my bet is it contradicts the left's messaging in some way or another.

What an underwhelming lineup! Headliners 20 years or more past their prime and a collection of support acts by and large even I have never heard of (and I do try to keep up with the current music scene). I've no doubt they're having trouble moving tickets. I saw Chicago earlier this week. If I'm going to pay to see the old-timers, it's going to be acts whose music I enjoy. Up next in two weeks, it's the Doobies.

“My daughters are going to be SO bummed!!” a mother replied. “I went last year and have been talking it up to them. They’re 12, 8, and 5 – this was going to be such an amazing experience for them!” A quote from the Hartford Courant. Here's a mother who needs to be investigated for child abuse. Alcohol and much worse will be fueling the crowd and those girls are way too young to be exposed.

The bodies of a man and woman were found on a walking trail at a popular state park in Arkansas over the weekend — sparking a manhunt for their possible killer. Cops said the corpses of a 43-year-old man and 41-year-old woman were discovered Saturday afternoon at Devil’s Den State Park, a tourist destination famous for its caves, rock formations and thousands of acres of forest. Arkansas State Police said they are now looking for a suspicious white male wearing dark shorts, a dark tank top and weightlifting-type gloves.

It’s been 50 years — and countless conspiracy theories — since Jimmy Hoffa first disappeared, and his case remains one of the most infamous and vexing unsolved mysteries in U.S. history. The ex-Teamsters boss left his cottage home in suburban Lake Orion, Mich., near Detroit on July 30, 1975 for a 2 p.m. meeting at the Machus Red Fox Restaurant in nearby Bloomfield Hills. He was reportedly gathering with a group of gangsters, including Anthony “Tony Pro” Provenzano, a New Jersey-based capo for the Genovese crime family, and Detroit mob boss Anthony “Tony Jack” Giacalone. Hoffa was trying to regain control of the union

The leftists who oppose discrimination against minorities, but favor “reverse discrimination” against other Americans to promote workplace “equity,” are about to lose a legal leg to stand on. The Supreme Court seems poised, in deciding Ames v. Ohio in the next few weeks, to decapitate the legal viability of reverse discrimination against heterosexuals — and give a strong boost to racial reverse-discrimination claims as well. Marlean Ames alleged that she suffered employment discrimination as a heterosexual in an Ohio state agency that favored LGBTQ employees.

Over the years, numerous studies, speeches and books have focused on a phenomenon known as self-sabotage. The subjects are highly successful people who throw it all away by behaving recklessly when they get to the top of the heap. Think Bill Clinton with Monica Lewinsky. Overconfidence, boredom and a notorious quest for power are among the reasons commonly identified as explanations for the destructive cycle.

The Dow tanked 2,231 points — a day after suffering a 1,679-point drop, its previous worst session since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The two-day selloff wiped out $6.4 trillion in market value.

A mass murderer strangled his wife during a conjugal visit in his California prison, according to prosecutors. David Brinson, already serving life for four murders, had claimed that his wife, Stephanie Dowells, a 62-year-old grandmother, had fainted when she was found dead after an unsupervised overnight visit last November at the Mule Creek State Prison near Sacramento. But an investigation showed that his wife had been throttled, with her death ruled a homicide, prosecutors told KCRA.

WASHINGTON — Former aides to Joe Biden and other Democratic flacks were aghast Friday following a report that the 46th president recently met with party bosses to offer to put himself back in the spotlight and boost the ailing party’s image and fundraising. Biden, 82, and wife Jill sat down with newly elected Democratic National Committee chairman Ken Martin last month to pitch themselves for a revamped campaigning effort, according to NBC News. Recent public polling shows Democrats’ support has cratered, with less than one-third of Americans approving of the party’s performance since President Trump returned to the White House Jan. 20.

NASA forked over more than $20 million in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) grants and contracts during the Biden administration, shelling out for “implicit bias” trainings, talks with so-called “anti-racist” authors, “gender-affirming” workplace guidelines and an aggressive, left-wing media presence. Prodded by executive action from former President Joe Biden, NASA officials also implemented a strategic plan to suffuse all agency operations with DEI, altering criteria for recruitment, performance evaluations and promotions. The taxpayer-watchdog group Open The Books revealed the politicization of the space agency in a report published Wednesday, which shares a trove of documents obtained from various public records requests.

President Volodymyr Zelensky’s anticorruption policies have already provoked Ukraine’s first antigovernment protests since the Russian invasion in 2022. Now, it seems, they may cost the country a portion of its foreign aid from the European Union, in a clear rebuke from the bloc, once a staunch ally. The European Union said on Friday that it would withhold 1.5 billion euros, or $1.7 billion, from an overall fund of 4.5 billion euros whose disbursement is dependent on achieving good governance standards and that can’t be used for military purchases. James Wasserstrom, an American anticorruption expert, said in an interview that “the luster is definitely coming off” Mr. Zelensky’s wartime leadership

How quickly things change. It was barely more than a year ago that climate activists and federal bureaucrats thought they had maneuvered the internal combustion engine (ICE) automobile to the brink of extinction. ICE vehicles had become like dinosaurs, inferior to their new competitors the EVs, and therefore headed for the scrap heap of history. Customers were flocking to the trendy new EVs, which were seeing rapidly rising sales. And the all-powerful federal bureaucracy was going to give the final push to put ICE vehicles out of their misery. On June 7, 2024 President Biden’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

Q Link Wireless LLC and its owner, identified as CEO Issa Asad, previously pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit wire fraud and steal federal funds from the Lifeline program that began in the 1980s, Fox News reported Sunday. The program offers subsidized cellphone services to lower-income people. In 2012, a video emerged of a protester outside a Mitt Romney event who claimed her neighbors received an “Obama phone,” Breitbart News reported at the time.

Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the New York City Democrat mayoral primary marks a troubling shift in the Party’s relationship with Jewish Americans. Mamdani’s candidacy is not simply progressive—it is openly hostile toward Israel and indifferent to rising antisemitism. By nominating him, the party has endorsed a candidate whose record reveals not just poor judgment, but outright radicalism. After the Hamas-led terrorist attack on October 7, 2023—when over 1,200 Israelis were murdered, including children burned alive and women raped—Mamdani declined to offer a clear condemnation. Instead, he deflected by calling Israel an “apartheid regime” at a time when moral clarity was urgently needed.

The Steele Dossier saga isn’t over—not even close. If anything, its rot is more obvious than ever, with each new revelation pointing directly to the highest levels of the Obama administration and even reaching into the early days of the Trump White House. What we now know is already damning: the phony Steele Dossier wasn’t just opposition research—it was weaponized disinformation, deliberately shoved into the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment under orders from Barack Obama himself. Senior analysts warned it was unverified and unreliable, but those concerns were bulldozed in the name of politics.
