The deepest depths of evil is required to murder parents in front of their 7 and 9 year old daughters. Prayers for those little girls, and for that monster to be apprehended & dealt with quickly!

I can't imagine killing 2 people while going for a hike, but there are some crazy people out there. The weirdo who killed the 4 Idaho college students never had a reason. Just felt like murdering some innocent people one day.

Well, when life is treated like it can be dispensed of anytime or whenever a person feels like it, sadly, these kind of vicious acts will continue.

I always carried when out on camping, trout fishing trips. The most dangerous animals are on two legs, not four. Hopefully, this murderous animal will "resist arrest" and be shot dead like the animal he is.

This is a terrible tragedy, and apparently the children were witnesses, it would seem. It's awful that such violent people walk free. But a woman was beaten in the face as she entered her car in a Target parking lot about two miles from my "safe area" home about ten years ago. He forced her out of the driver's seat, drove to a wooded lake area and raped her, then murdered her. And then he drove home to his normal, middle class home with a wife and two kids and went to work the next day like nothing had happened. They caught that guy, and I very much hope that they catch this vermin. We never go anywhere unarmed, especially in "the woods". I was asked years ago why I was carrying a visible handgun while hiking. I said "For predators.......four legged or two legged." The reaction was a wry smile and a nod of the head, and "I guess I should have brought my 10mm Glock." I agreed that it would be a good idea. The good news is that this sort of vicious, senseless murder is very rare. The bad news is that they are not unknown. Old Boy Scout motto "Be prepared" ....carry a compass, extra water, snacks, a means to start a fire and a handgun. Be prepared.

Today only, Palmetto State Arsenal has a Ruger LCP .380 pocket pistol on sale for $160. It will ride in any jeans front pocket just fine.....like mine does all the time. No need to be unarmed.

Just a heads up about national and state parks lately. The most beautiful we have is Glacier, which butts right up to Canada. My husband saw some very odd things there while camping out recently. Pretty sure ICE is watching closely for border crossings, and for groups that are living in tents and using the showers.

Former New York Rep. George Santos reported to federal prison on Friday to begin his 87-month prison sentence after he plead guilty to felony fraud charges in August 2024 and was expelled from Congress in December 2023.[snip] In December 2023, the House voted 311-114 to expel Santos from the House, this represented the first expulsion from the House since former Rep. Jim Traficant (D-OH) was expelled after Traficant had been found guilty in court. Santos being expelled from Congress came after “a brutal report from the House Ethics Committee” found “evidence Santos knowingly filed false reports with the Federal Election Commission” and had used “campaign funds for personal purposes,”

The entire system must be fixed to ensure that every potential donor’s life is treated with the sanctity it deserves.” A House panel is now investigating, as well.

WASHINGTON — President Trump signed an executive order Thursday calling on states and cities to end “endemic vagrancy” — and rehouse homeless people including drug addicts and those suffering from mental problems in “treatment centers.” The order redirects federal funding to prioritize “shifting homeless individuals into long-term institutional settings for humane treatment through the appropriate use of civil commitment.” On average, more than 274,000 people were sleeping on the streets each night last year under then-President Joe Biden, the order says.

Mamdani’s support appears to have dropped 14 percentage points from less than a week ago, based on a previous poll, while Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa’s surged 12 percent. Mamdani shocked the political world by winning the Democratic primary, defeating former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. He now faces Sliwa and Cuomo, as well as current New York City Mayor Eric Adams, in the general election. Cuomo and Adams are both running as independents, assuming they each decide to stay in the race.

ISRAEL says some of Iran's highly-enriched near weapons-grade uranium stockpile survived US bombings during the 12-Day War last month. Doubts remained about whether Iran quietly removed 408.6 kgs of uranium from its most sensitive sites before the strikes - potentially hiding nuclear material elsewhere in the country. The uranium in question is enriched to 60 per cent - way above levels for civilian usage but slightly below weapons-grade. That material, if further refined to 90 per cent, would theoretically be sufficient to produce more than nine nuclear bombs. An Israeli official told The New York Times some of the uranium stockpile survived the US and Israeli bombings last month

The agreement sets tariffs at 15 percent for European imports, including automobiles. That’s lower than the 30 percent tariff Trump had threatened to impose on the EU but higher than some European officials would have liked to see —

Burnett said police knew the gunman had “sunglasses, mustache, male, possibly white” during a broadcast shortly after the shooting Monday evening.

As President Donald Trump marks six months into his second term — celebrating triumphs like ending numerous wars, slashing job-killing regulations, making tax cuts permanent, and signing over 140 executive orders to revive America's energy independence and economy — one persistent swamp creature threatens to derail it all. In the depths of the “Washington swamp,” few figures embody the betrayal of true conservative values like Senator Lindsey Graham. Once a vocal critic of Donald Trump, Graham flipped like a pancake after the MAGA-leader took over the Oval office — raising eyebrows and fueling theories that he's been “activated” by shadowy forces.

The Donald Trump-Russia collusion scandal that first broke in December 2016 and roared on until April 2019 has no parallel in our history — it’s not even close. As president-elect and later as sitting president, Trump was accused by the country’s intelligence and law-enforcement apparatus of conspiring with a hostile power to subvert the 2016 election and sneak a crooked path to the White House. Along the way, a damning Intelligence Community Assessment was issued, a major FBI investigation, code-named Crossfire Hurricane, targeted the president, and a special counsel, Robert Mueller, was granted a team of prosecutors and a budget of millions to bring the guilty to justice.

Cory Booker, ever the drama king (queen?) from New Jersey, turned what should have been a routine discussion over a police funding bill into a one-man Broadway show, complete with finger-pointing at his own party and impassioned diatribes about the imminent descent of the country into authoritarian chaos. That’s right, one of the Senate’s most reliably emotional voices managed to deliver another performance that all but confirmed the absence of meaningful leadership and unity among Democrats. Booker’s tirade began with a familiar refrain:
