The runner-up in the 2024 U.S. presidential election won’t be running for California‘s top job next year, but Kamala Harris isn’t ruling out a 2028 White House bid yet. After months of speculation and impressive polling, the former Vice President has made it official: She’s not going to be on the ballot to lead the Golden State. “After deep reflection, I’ve decided that I will not run for Governor in this election,” Harris said Wednesday. The gunman who killed four people before turning the gun on himself, identified as 27-year-old Shane Tamura, was trying to target the National Football League headquarters, NYC Mayor Eric Adams said Tuesday. Investigators believe Tamura mistakenly took the wrong elevator, leading him to Rudin Management instead, Adams told NewsNation local affiliate WPIX. Tamura reportedly had a three-page suicide note inside his pocket, which claimed he had a brain injury from a contact sport and blamed the NFL. Tamura, who played high school football, reportedly wanted his brain studied after his death. An official motive has not yet been released.

Most people use their allotted sick time for an unexpected illness, sick child, or medical procedure and don't see the utilization of that time as having the potential to be an act of civil disobedience or protest against the government or their employer. However, one group rising in membership plans to use their sick time for precisely that — taking a page out of organized labor's handbook and using their collective action to expose and potentially even directly impact what they view as systemic injustices against the working class of the United States. Known as "The People's Sick Day," the online

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) is planning to file an appeal after he lost the Minneapolis Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party’s (DFL) endorsement to a democratic socialist challenger in a process that he argues was significantly flawed. (Snip) But the outlet reported that the process was the subject of significant confusion and scrutiny as counting the first round of voting took almost two hours to complete. Fateh led that round with about 44 percent of the vote to Frey’s roughly 31.5 percent, leaving them as the only two candidates in contention for the endorsement. Failed Democratic Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams isn’t ruling out a third run for governor of the Peach State, and said in a Tuesday interview that true Christians should have left-leaning views. (Snip) "I cannot call myself a Christian and not believe that it is my responsibility to help the stranger, to help immigrants, to help the dispossessed. I cannot say that my faith justifies the venom that has been turned against the LGBTQIA community, the way we have demonized the transgender community. Six days before polls closed in the New York City mayoral primary, and hours after former Mayor Michael Bloomberg injected an extra $5 million into former Gov.
